This is a wonderful resort. We have been going there for 18 yrs and now that we are retired we went for the month. What can I say it wasn't long enough. This resort is beautiful and the food amazing but what sets this place apart is the people. The ones that have worked there for 10-20ys, their kindness and generosity. But also the eole who come here. I meet new friends every year.

We had to Shelter in Place there recently and they couldn't have been better. They very generously comped us a couple nights when our flight (and most other flights) were canceled. They connected us to a doctor and medication when one of my kids had an unexpected medical situation. Couldn't have asked for more! So thankful for their help and generosity. Beautiful resort, great beach and pools, friendly and helpful staff, fun kids club with extended hours. Good food and stiff drinks. Can't recommend it enough!

Our family of 10 stayed at the Velas Vallarta resort from Feb 16-24, 2026. Our group had 4 boys aged 5 to 7 and they had a blast. The resort was clean, welcoming and fun. Our rooms were immaculate and the housekeeping staff were friendly and hardworking. The pool areas were spotless; cleaned and organized every night. The restaurants offered both buffet and an a la carte menu. We could also order food from the servers right at the pool. The menus and the buffet selections varied from day to day depending on the theme that day. There were always lots of choices. The serving staff were friendly, kind and attentive. Our family, unfortunately, was affected by the violence that took place in Puerto Vallarta and our flights home were canceled on Feb 22, 2026. Velas Vallarta went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. They kept us in our original rooms with all amenities for the 2 days it took us to get flights home. Even the day we flew home they let us keep our rooms until we checked out in the evening. The staff was so kind and caring about us while their own families were sheltering in place in their own homes. The resort also kept the staff that made it into work on that Sunday, overnight. The general manager also went to the airport to bring back clients that had already checked out that morning. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Despite the turmoil at the end of our vacation, we had a wonderful time because of this outstanding resort.

Velas Vallarta resort has been an annual destination of ours for years. We have gotten to know many of the staff who have worked there for a long time and feel like family to us. While there last week, as you may have seen on the news, there was unfortunate cartel activity that put a damper on things for sure. The staff who were there working when this happened had to stay over 24 hours and worked with their usual enthusiasm and smiles making sure guests were cared for. They made us feel safe and there was never a shortage of food or fun. We applaud the entire staff for their seamless efforts during those days. We highly recommend Velas Vallarta for your next trip to Mexico!

We had a wonderful time here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We ended up staying beyond our checkout date due to the airport shutdown and the resort was beyond accommodating. Miguel by the pool and Antonio at the pool bar were fantastic and made sure we never got thirsty! Jesus at the front desk made sure to keep everyone informed and ensured we were taken care of. Will absolutely come back!
