Velas Vallarta, a home away from home.

We’re just wrapping up a fantastic stay at Velas Vallarta, and I have to say it exceeded our expectations. We ordered a package, all-inclusive suite through Costco for our family of four (two teens) and we had a wonderful time over the past week. Beyond all the package benefits, including great food/restaurant options, multiple relaxing pool-side areas with food/drink service, and lots of concierge-recommended day trip options, the best part of Velas is that it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel, more like a home away from home. We’re already thinking about when we can come back!
Perfect family vacay

Took our kids and granddaughter for a family vacation and had a wonderful time. Perfect size with 3 pools, one of them kids, one quieter and one with swim up bar. Not a party place as it’s not right in town. Loved that it was 5 minutes from airport. Full suite with great ocean view. 2 restaurants and an amazing hamburger bar. Service was good and Jesus at the front desk went out of his way to make sure it was a memorable family holiday. We’ll be back for sure!
Group Trip with kids: LOVE this place

A group of 30 came to stay here for a week and we couldn’t give enough stars. This place is the best. Safe, clean, gorgeous and service is out of this world. We love it here!
Say "Yes" to Velas!

We stayed 10 nights at Velas from Mar 3-13th and can’t say enough about how great this resort was. Service: First and foremost, the service was second to none. There were an abundance of staff at each area of the resort. All of whom were friendly and accommodated any request, big or small. The two restaurants had rotating menus each night so you never really felt like you had to stick with the same food which we really enjoyed. Breakfast menus had a ton of options and the salad bar & buffet at both restaurants were always available too however we mainly enjoyed ordering directly from the menu. If you ever need larger pesos broken down for tipping the front desk was great for exchanging without issues. Resort: The resort itself is in a great location, just 5 minutes from the airport, we took a private shuttle however a taxi would have worked probably just as well. The resort is meticulously maintained, grounds crew were always out trimming hedges, cutting grass, pressure washing the brick walkways etc. The pools area was awesome; all new patio furniture and loungers, three pools, a 2’ shallow one for young ones, a medium sized one that had a bit of a cooler temperature but was a bit quitter for those who like to read or be away from activities and then the main larger pool with the ocean view which also included the canal style passage way leading to a small slide for younger kids. The large pool had good music, a swim-up bar, water volleyball net, table tennis, burger/hot dog bar, mixology cart and a bunch of daily games they’d host. This pool also had easy access to the ocean, including beach chairs shaded by tents and a beach volleyball court, stunning sunset views too. Extras: Other cool things about this resort is in the lobby they had a crepe station which was open from 12pm-8pm and could make any style crepe you could imagine. They also had an ice-cream bar with tons of flavours. There is also a kids club which had activities throughout the day, our kids mainly just used the swing sets and played soccer in that area but the inside had A/C, movies, video games, arts and crafts etc. For adults, the resort had good grade alcohols (ie; Don Julio, Havana Club, Canadian Club, Malibu, Absolut Vodka etc), beer was cans of Dos Equis, Coors Light and Tecate and non-alcholic beer was Heineken 0. Each night in the lobby there was events happening, music, dancing, shows, all family friendly and for the most part entertaining, our kids looked forward to it each night. Room: Our room (one bedroom suite) was perfect for our family, adults in the king bed, our two younger kids shared the pull-out couch, we ended up just leaving it as a bed the whole time because there was still a lot of room to move around even with it unfolded. The patio was spacious and had a great view of the pools, greenery and ocean. They have 24/7 room service for food, drinks etc. I’d recommend getting a room on the 7th-9th floor to ensure you get a great view. We noticed a lot of the ground floor units were visited by peacocks at night, kind of cool at first but I think it would probably become annoying eventually. Recap: This is my 9th all-inclusive resort I have visited and I usually find I am excited for the first few day but the novelty wears off, that didn’t happen with this resort. Literally every person you spoke with agreed with how great the resort was and how people all planned to come back, us included. I guess if I were forced to give some sort of constructive feedback to the resort it would be: 1) to have more kids activities displayed indoors at the kids club to make it more inviting, our kids (4&9) walked in and right out when they saw how empty it looked inside. It was going to be a tough sell for our 4 year old to stay there anyways but that didn't help. 2) Although there were options to get a drink in the lobby (via staff) there wasn't a designated lobby bar, I think that would be a nice touch in the future as they have the space to do it. Thanks Velas Vallarta for hosting us and for making our experience a great one. Special shout out to the following staff: From Andreas Restaurant: Hector & his assistant (sorry forget his name): Always making our kids smile & laugh Edgar: Very professional, always remembered our drink orders and brought us a nice “goodbye” cake. Swim up bar: Raymundo: Always quick to have our next beverage ready. Very professional and friendly. Pool side: We had a shorter gentleman be our waiter for about 8 of the 10 days. Had a few tattoos and wore a hat. We really enjoyed him but both forget his name, our apologies.
Dream wedding location

Our wedding at Velas Vallarta was absolutely incredible. The resort is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We felt extremely safe and even left the hotel to walk around the Malecon. A huge thank you to our wedding coordinator, Michele, who was attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. She made sure every detail was perfect and truly helped make our day stress free. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the wedding was. I would highly recommend Velas Vallarta to any couple considering a destination wedding!
