This is my second trip to the Hilton La Romana. Last year I could not fault the hotel, it was my best experience of over 50 trips to the DR. On my return to the UK I immediately booked a return visit. Sadly, I have been disappointed. There are still many plus points but my holiday has been totally ruined by the loud, techno repetitive music around the adult only Enclave pool. Last year this was a quiet relaxing area. The guests are mainly older couples who tend not to appreciate head banging music played at high volume. We all used to go to Ibiza for that when we were a lot younger!! I have now complained to several members of staff who either say they can't do anything or promise to lower the volume/ change the content. The situation is still the same 10 days into a 21 day holiday. I have now run out of painkillers and am seriously considering an early flight home. I am disgusted that guest views are ignored and the mysterious Entertainment Manager has decided that we all like loud, repetitive rubbish music. We pay extra for Enclave please listen before guests vote with their feet.

Beautiful resort with impeccable landscaping. Pools and beach are very well kept. The bar drink choices were plentiful and The best part was our drink server, Diomedy De Los Santos. She always had a smile on her face and was most attentive to us. Checked out the family side water park and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice lazy river and the lounge chairs were plentiful with shade areas. Only downside of the entire trip is that we could only rate the food as average. Not a lot of flavor.

Spent a week at the Hilton la Romana Nov 28+Dec 5. Couples holiday. The first thing I should mention is that the resort is a non-smoking resort. There are designated smoking areas. We stayed in the enclave section which includes an enclave only beach , pool and buffet restaurant The Butler service was $200 a week. We didn't do that. Too expensive. The grounds are beautiful. White sandy beaches, lush vegetation and they faculties were clean and well maintained. The food at the Caoba buffet was good and plentiful. Gluten free section was adequate. There are great friendly servers in the Caoba buffet. Especially Jennifer Perez . Extremely helpful and so joyful. It made my breakfast. Kudos and thanks to Rosemary at the enclave pool bar area. So friendly and efficient. Pleasure to have met her We also ate at Mare the seafood restaurant and Sakura restaurant. I enjoyed the Mare. All in all a relaxing week. We are returning March 2025

This was the first stay in the area, and I gather there are many choices and price points. We picked this location for the nearness to a particular dive shop ( el tour caribe), and they picked us up right on the beach. Regarding the resort, it was clean and quiet, the rooms were spacious. It was probably not the cheapest. The staff were pleasant, with adequate English skills ( DR version of Spanish was not intelligible to me, not their fault). There was some upsell, but they took 'no' for an answer. The grounds were pretty, and well maintained. The evening food was fine and there were lots of locations; the breakfast was very good. I imagine we could have asked for more food, but we didn't feel the need. It was fun going to the bar for drinks and not paying, even though we knew we were actually prepaid. Overall, pleasant and pretty frictionless. We were there in mid-November, so there was some rain, but it didn't last long. Not crowded at that time. The ride to the airport was pricey, but came on time and was comfortable. The ride is about 50 minutes each way.
