Not really sure this is the one

Grand resort with beautiful beach access and decent rooms that provide value. But from organizational and service stand point especially considering how large this property is they don't do a great job providing you a brief tutorial of how to get around, where to get food some dos and donts. Segregation is terrible, you are barely allowed to go anywhere to use amenities. Realistically only 2 places to get food so it's quite terrible. Our first day we arrived close to 5, by the time got situated and ready it was close to 6. Zero food at the all inclusive i mean cmon its crazy. Our 4 years old daughter wanted to swim in the pool. At 6:37 pm she was kicked out because it closes at 7 and they already wanted to out chemicals. It's just bad service guys. Considering its literally just u7our start i am already wishing we didbt stay here all 10 days. Pinch me but this just sucks so bad.

Not good

First and last visit to this resort. I will start off with saying that I read the terrible reviews about food, customer service, cleanliness, etc before I left, but I always keep an open mind with these - I’ve travelled to the DR (and stayed at other Bahia Principe hotels) many times before and I know what to expect. I never go to an all inclusive expecting it to be absolutely perfect; you take the good with the bad. However, this was by far my worst experience and there were really no positives. While I will certainly return to the DR, I will never stay with Bahia Principe again. Starting with check in, it was chaos. No welcome, no clear sign of where to go, just what felt like hundreds of guests hanging out in the lobby and like 3 staff. Next, food. My issue isn’t really with the quality or variety of the food, because again I’ve stayed at all inclusives and you don’t go there for the food. My issue was with the lack of sanitary measures. The buffet in the lobby was terrible and a cesspool of bacteria. The smell is absolutely horrific. By the last day I couldn’t even walk in there without gagging. If you sit far enough back into the buffet you can’t really smell it, but it’s the first thing you smell when you walk in. There are lots of options for food I felt, however it was not sanitary. Jams, honey, Nutella, etc were just sitting in bowls right where people were lining up for other breakfast foods. You were supposed to just grab a spoon and help yourself to spreads that people likely coughed on, etc. People were not using the tongs for bread, etc, and using their hands - there was no hand sanitizer provided. Fruit was covered in mosquitos and the tables were disgusting. Covered in food and sticky from whoever ate there before. There was maybe one day I saw them wiping down (more like brushing with a dry cloth) the tables between seatings. We found the food at the a la cartes was good, but you are limited to 3-4 dinners. Lastly, customer service was absolutely non existent with the exception of maybe 1-2 staff members we interacted with. We realized within a few days that the resort mainly caters to South Americans and so if you don’t speak Spanish you are treated poorly. This was further confirmed when we went to the gym at Ambar and one of the employees asked why we’re staying at Grand Punta Cana because Canadians usually stay at Ambar. I agree with the other reviews that the renovated rooms are nice, and the shuttles are frequent. To top it off, what was the most defeating is that this vacation was not cheap. I’ve paid less in the DR and had a much better experience. We booked with Air Canada vacations and for what we paid I am so disappointed. They rate this resort 4.5 stars and it absolutely is not. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
