Mixed , revue as somethings could be improved to help maintain an excellent hotel in lovely beach setting

Hotel is very big but using unique room service , was very good . Own check in and own butler Oliver de la Cruz who looked after us very well all of our stay ,we were with family and friends , as they were having there wedding near by . Suite was large and very clean , felt a bit damp at times , even with a/c on . Restaurants were good with lots of choices , loved the unique bar area and own restaurant , so enjoyable to walk in , and always plenty of seating . Worth booking any food venues straight away as all booked up fast . Our butler helped with that . Loved our own beach area too . Quieter than pool area which had. Loud entertainment everyday . Not to our personal choice . Travelled with family and friends for a wedding being held nearby . The hotel holds lots of weddings too. We always felt Most meals need to be served up hotter in All restaurants , but plenty of choice . Must mention Ingrid who was cooking at breakfast and lunch most days we were there on hot food / smoothie counter , amazing friendly hardworking, remembering every order under pressure , , she Deserves a mention . give her some help , and other chef who worked other days ,
Disappointing holiday but beautiful hotel

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 10 nights and unfortunately didn’t live up to our expectations! Firstly the hotel grounds are amazing and so is the hotel itself, the rooms are also very spacious and comfortable however do have a damp/musty smell. We found around the main hotel areas to be very clean and tidy however closer to the rooms/ corridors to be fairly dirty. Toilets within the main buffet and around the pool were disgusting, didn’t seem like they were cleaned throughout our stay. We found most of the staff to be very friendly and polite, I don’t feel as if any went above and beyond to enhance our stay. However at all of the restaurants they made sure to keep drinks topped up and tables clean and were always smiley. One bad point in regards to staff, at the pool bar early on into our stay I witnessed two of the waitresses taking shots of tequila thinking nobody had seen them during their shift! I was very shocked to have seen this and feel let down. We had problems with electricity within our room, lights wouldn’t switch on/off and same with A/C controls! Meaning trying to sleep one night with main lights in the room switched on, the reception were notified but didn’t seem bothered about rectifying the issue. Around an hour later it was fixed, until the next morning! Where we had to get ready and shower in the dark, this issue wasn’t fixed until the evening. This happened 3/10 days of our stay without any explanation or offering to move rooms! We found the food options to be okay, the buffet was tasty but got boring after a couple of days as food was similar everyday. Our favourite restaurant was the Asian, very tasty food, great atmosphere with the live chefs and good choice on the menu. Overall the hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are all very friendly the rooms are nice apart from the smell. Also the hotel services such as the gym were excellent, better equipment than the gyms back home. We were that disappointed with our stay we contacted our travel provider and have received a money off voucher. We’ve stayed at many nice hotels but wouldn’t be returning to Lopesan.
