You get what you pay for!

We checked this hotel out for an affordable wedding option, but upon checking the rooms we were immediately changing our plans. The food is good and the pool was nice but the rooms were not hotel quality they felt like a motel

Expecting awful but really wasn’t

After reading reviews I was expecting Fawlty Towers and living off chips and rice - it wasn’t like that. Check in wasn’t the fastest (neither was check out) but fine; whatever took about 20 mins. They could do with giving you a welcome pack like other hotels or even a help sheet in the room - the lack of info made it difficult for the first few days - locating snack bars / changing beach towels / booking restaurants / theatre shows etc. Room keys ALWAYS stop working - keep them away from phones but they’ll still break after your long walk to your room! AC was brilliant - leave it on all day though even when you’re not in the room. Fridge always stocked everyday & beds changed, towels were changed but only the bath towels - took away the bath mat & hand towels which never got replaced for the week :-s Maid left my balcony door open - I was 2nd floor so not that much of a problem but still not ideal. USB charging points so no need for travel adapters if you only have phones / tablets. English isn’t great around the hotel but that’s to be expected; still able to communicate but brush up on some basic Spanish! The shops on site are expensive - take the 10 minute walk outside to grab bits you may have forgotten £ for souvenirs. There’s a beach market on Sundays - I only found after Beach was nice - choppy water & seaweed when I was there but there had been a hurricane 200 miles away few days before so to be expected. Food - good. I never struggled; freshly made to order omelettes each day, eggs, fruits & more. Dinner was the same, freshly made pasta how you want, bbq chicken, noodles etc. desserts weren’t great but that was my personal taste others liked them. Drinks - strong and nice! Take your own reusable cup with a lid otherwise you get small plastic cups that last 2 sips and the ice waters it down as melts fast. Pools - great! I went with a 2 year old and she loved the slides; that pool was warmer than the others also. Not a lot of umbrellas so if you want one get up early! The beach also doesn’t have them but use the palm trees for shade. Pool foam party on Saturday which was good, always activities going on & sports if you want to join in. Weekends get BUSY with locals so expect to struggle to get seated at the restaurants / get sun beds so get up early Would deffo come back - I had a bargain package deal and it was worth every penny!
