I would like to note that is spend a month at a time on my stays. First stayed before the covid issue and wanted to come back since. We finally managed this in May 2023 and now again in November 2023. I was a bit taken back with the condition of the resort when arriving in May. However, I also took into account the loss that Barceló must have taken during the pandemic. I understood and as usual the staff throughout the resort made up for this! Truly the majority of the staff from the buffet to the house keeping to the front desk and the bars as well as all across the many areas in which it takes to make a resort run. Are cheerful and extremely helpful I have come to consider many my true friends. Arriving in November I am missing a few faces but I am sure they are moving up and onwards within the Barcelo company. Since our stay in November there has been a huge amount of progress with renovations and maintenance. The new room sliding doors (which was a problem in May) have been all replaces. The Entry doors to the rooms have all been readjusted along with the A/C has been keeping the room completely cool throughout the day and evening (I do keep my curtains closed while not in the room during the day). There were many workers on the roof making repairs and maintaining, along with painters all throughout the resort. Each Working hard on the exterior and interior. I noticed new silverware in the buffet. BUT the biggest item I noticed was NEW POOL CHAIRS! Whoop! Taking the plastic wrap off was a pleasure! Once these chairs were all placed at the pool areas they moved all the older pool chairs to the BEACH! OUTSTANDING! If you’ve been to the resort recently you know they were in dire need of replacing the BEACH CHAIRS. I also noticed new signs and video screens throughout the resort. This was not a big deal to me personally but it did show me that upgrades were being done and completed. I must say that the WEBSITE has also made strides. It had become very difficult for me to make a reservation online and the discounts to apply correctly. I would have to end up calling the main line to make the reservation. That was a big deal for me actually. I have now made several reservations via the website with no issues.
I personally choose to stay on the left side of the resort by the CALM pool area if you will. The other side has fun happening all day and sometimes can be heard in your room over there. I always get the beach view and no matter which room I have been given. It has been perfect! During our May stay I only changed rooms due to the A/C problem. This change came with no issues at all from the front desk staff. While choosing not to have noise all day I do have the 3 hour night entertainment noise. For me this is not an issue. I retire early has I am a morning person. So while the entertainment is happening downstairs below me I am listening to my meditation music on higher volume. No problem for me. Saturday would be the only day that the CALM pool would be on HIGH. The POOL PARTY happens and it is a hoot to behold. I don’t mind it at all!
The BEACH I have to say is the best I have been to in the area. The white sand is fabulous here. However, having so many Palm Trees is wonderful. There is always your breeze and always shade to be found if you want it. You do not have 100 guests under 5 trees. That is a nice treat. They clean the beach each morning and have security on the beach even at sunrise and sunset. Security actually can be seen throughout the resort at any hour but it is a great feeling walking down to the beach early morning for the sunrise and just feel looked after.
I personally bring enough cash for tipping the staff. When you are getting a great all inclusive deal with food and drinks included. I feel tips are a must. The staff works extremely hard for everyone and All day long! Days on end! Much deserved indeed.
I really felt a need to write this review as it seems that most only make a review when not happy. More need to actually write when they are pleased. This gives a true review rating. Everyone deserves a true rating good or bad. The resort deserves this for all their hard work and efforts. The guests deserve this to make an informative decision.

This hotel is dirty we had cockroaches in our washroom and we paid for a premium level room no one cares or provides any good service I recommend you go to another hotel don’t waste ur hard earned money

Went with my husband to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was recommended by friends and we weren’t disappointed at all. Great food, we also enjoyed all the a la carte Restaurant. The pool near the Lobby was very relaxing and always clean. Exceptional beach.
Overall great couple getaway.

Alright value for money, would have appreciated a tiny bit cleaner room, updated maps. My sister and I found ourselves jealous of resort nextdoor the RIU, sounded like the guests over there were having lots more fun, get a DJ.

The staff was amazing! The daytime entertainment by Sulenny, Eunice, Nicol, Yeimy, Ismalyn, and, of course, Dewilka was fantastic! Their energy was contagious, and they brought the party to life!
I had the chance to try the trapeze with the help of Omar/Yoan and Victor!
Laura and Rosi at the casino were lovely and always smiling!
Kelvin at the reception was very helpful.
David and Yordy always served with a smile at the multiple bars!
We also felt in great safety at the beach with many security guards present, as well as Yeffry, the lifeguard, watching over us!
Overall, it was an amazing stay; I would definitely go back. Great value for your money!
