Great experience helpful staff. Was able to enjoy time with my family while also enjoying the natural settings around the resort. Staff is really friendly, polite and respectful. Overall had a great time a couple of issues but nothing major.

Honest review

We've just spent 10 days here from the UK. We booked this hotel due to previously staying at the Barcelo in Mexico. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the lobby was busy, we was waiting for over an hour to check in. It is really hot in that lobby and we wasn't offered a drink even though we was travelling for nearly 10hrs. We was given a room in block 7 on the ground floor, room was nice and clean and have no faults. I will start with the positives *Beautiful hotel grounds, well kept *Beach is stunning *Room was nice and maintained *Some of the staff were lovely This is where things went downhill, we noticed there was huge language barrier, ordering a water or a cola was an ordeal, google translator is a must. This is a very Spanish hotel and only a handful of staff speak English. 99% of the music is in Spanish. Food: we struggled most of it was just not nice, it was disappointing there was no seafood only muscles on a certain day. Breakfast was random stuff and there is long queues if you want a fried egg or an omelet. Bacon we saw twice. The snack bar was average, burgers, hotdogs, chips etc. Birds do come in both pecking at the bread. Buffet restaurant can get very busy and there was often a wait. On the Friday we had noticed a very large intake of people wearing paper orange wrist bands who I presume are locals for the weekend. On Saturday is the pool party which we was looking forward to, just before it started it was over taken by the locals, pushing people, splashing like loons and there were small kids in there. The team brought balloons onto the hut, a bunch of teens then was jumping up on the bridge and was just taking them for their friends. Once the foam started they was just a bunch of animals pushing and shoving people we decided to get out and just watch. They released the balloons and it was ridiculous, they was getting snatched out of children's hands. Because they was the long type of balloons another group of teens who had smaller kids in the group was simulating sex acts on them. Swim up pool bar was a no go over the weekend as it was packed. Also keep your valuables with you at all times, we had them waterproof phone cases which we kept our phones in and money. I had a bag just of suntan lotion, left it on the sunbed on the beach, we was in the sea and was in eye shot of our sunbeds. Now there's 100s of them on the beach to choose from, we noticed two kids playing right near ours with an adult standing around the adult then put her hat and ipad on one our beds so it looked like theirs. We got straight out and walked over and she quickly moved her stuff and disappeared with the kids. Could of been innocent or could of been because of the bag was there so just be cautious. Also the sea is quite rough, them waves are super strong and not ideal for small kids. For a beautiful hotel the food was such a let down for us, we couldn't book another restaurant as they was apparently all booked out which was a shame. Entertainment was okay especially the MJ show. We skipped the karaoke nights as it was all in Spanish. Also we forgot to tip the maid one day as we was on a trip and she did not top up our mini bar so we was left without any water during the night. Some days we got a bottle of coke and sprite, the next just water, never once received beers or anything else.
