Don't let the bad reviews put you off

We have just returned from a two week holiday and this is an open and honest review. Not going to lie, after reading the reviews beforehand I was so nervous about travelling here. However, I can honestly say that we were more than pleasantly surprised. I'll start with the food.. We didn't have a single bad meal from this place. From the breakfast buffet, to the snack bar, to the hotdog and crepe places, to the evening buffets. There was something for everyone, I will say there is a lot of seafood especially at lunch and dinner buffets, but there are also meat options and a few vegetarian options. We ate at the Mexican and Italian a la carte restaurants, the Italian was a little basic and not a lot of starter options but the food was still good. The Mexican was unbelievable in my opinion, authentic, tasty Mexican food and our server Enrique was fantastic and we never had an empty glass! I will say if you don't fancy eating buffet one night, take a trip out of the hotel and head to the Mariana, there are so many different bars and restaurants with very good prices. I will personally recommend Latitude 20, best steak and ribs around. Now, the rooms. They are very basic and could do with well needed TLC. This is the only reason I have said 4 instead of 5 stars. However, they were very clean and well looked after. The maid service was fantastic and never had any issues. A couple we went with safe stopped working, within 5 minutes someone from reception came up and it was fixed. The staff. Wow is all I can say. They do not stop working from sunrise to sunset. From the restaurant staff, to the bar, to the animation team, to the cleaners, to the groundkeepers. They worked their BUMS off! I just was to give a special shout out to Ismael. He started off on the pool bar on our first week, and then onto the Sports bar for our second. We made sure we always went to see him and he treated us with so much respect and actually seemed to care that we were having a good time. Also he made the best cocktails on site. Overall, we had a FANTASTIC holiday and I can now understand why people go back every year. If you can get past the tired rooms then I will 100% recommend it. If you can't, then I would say you should upgrade to the Riviera side/Premium. Great value for money in my opinion.
Clean tidy hotel, I moved rooms as noisy once moved slept well. Staff are friendly, kept very clean, food good no chips on menu.

Lovely hotel in a gated residential area, with a marina and shops in the nearby area. I would recommend. Hotel staff friendly good food very clean hotel has own beach you can use the sister hotel for entertainment money change ect. Needs some refurbishment in places some works are being done.
