Please believe me when I say “DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL”. This is Catalonia Yucatán beach hotel. NOT CATALONIA RIVIERA MAYA HOTEL (which is the same all of it.) Myself and my partner are still here. Extremely old and tied rooms. Some have a door into the next room. Will not clean room if you have a watch, iPad or camera on show. Two waters in fridge NO cold soft drinks or beer. One plug socket to use on one side of bed hanging off wall. 4 hangers in wardrobe. No kettle or tea and coffee facilities in room. A/C was ok but extremely noisy so you will turn it off through the night. No English channels in room tv only CNN news. We tried to set up Netflix through iPad and phone because it says smart tv but nothing. You can’t get a hot drink after 10pm no snakes or burgers or coffee and cake no late night bar or chill out places here. No drinks until 11am from bar around pool or beach. And don’t think about trying to get a drink from around the corner at the bar or pool area. It’s all the same beach ocean and hotel but only people who have got a different colour band on and have paid just An extra £200 before they traveled can drink at these bars. We asked to upgrade after seeing our room to be told it would cost 1200 American dollars. After seeing our tied smelly room And asking and meeting with Monica who said she would help and move us to a more happier clean fresh room which she did and it ended up being the same room but two floors up. I decided to just get on with the holiday. I had already wasted 2 days asking for help and listening to false promises . This holiday was definitely sold to us using next doors pictures and descriptions. So more shocking is that Tui told me two weeks before my holiday that they would find and move us to another hotel. The day before our flight they called me and left a message saying that the ONE customer service lady who I last spoke to was off sick for the past week so nothing got sorted. So TUI only has one customer service person. I would hate to think of anybody else working hard and saving up to be disappointed with this holiday. 10 hours on plane what a disappointment. TUI you are a disgrace and a disappointment. Even now just 3 days in TUI have not been back in touch after saying they would. Please don’t make the same mistake as we did. So if you’re reading this and have already left for this hotel come find me so I can say “ I told you so “. Names Pete and Leigh.

The staff is top notch but the rooms are the worst I’ve experienced in Mexico or Cuba. Food is quite tasty and fresh. Beach is not great.

We had excellent service from our waiter, Angel Gabriel. He was very attentive and helped us with our choices. The mexican restaurant is lovely but the portion sizes are poor! Our starter was larger than our main course. My husband's main course wouldn't have fed a toddler. I know that it's supposed to be fine dining and the food was lovely but there needs to be more of it. Our experience of the hotel has been that if it wasn't for the fantastic staff the place would fall apart. Noisy workmen day and night, no coffee available through the day, air conditioning unit breaking, unruly and drunken guests, expensive spa services just to name a few. I hope that you are paying your staff well and looking after them well because they have made our holiday.

Neldy was a great help at the front desk. We are very appreciative of her assistance and attention to detail. The service at Catalonia is exceptional

Hotel is nice! BUT don't be fooled about the restaurants mostly unable to book a table in any of them. The steak house restaurant is not available unless you have an upgrade to the hotel next door which is the same hotel. My husband has tried to book a meal for my birthday and it's been impossible so we plan to eat out as for the food in the buffet restaurant it's plain and the same thing every night. Not impressed. When we was told we could not book any table for my birthday they said they would send something special for me! Which did not appear ?? lift now out and on top floor ?? been out since yesterday have been told they don't know when it will be fixed. Husband is getting over cancer treatment and still having some treatment so stairs are not good for him he gets exhausted easily. They have said we can move to ground floor tomorrow. He feels trapped in room as he can't keep climbing the stairs.
