Holiday from hell food I would not give to my dog

Up grade now if you have booked this hotel I’d give it 1 star and that’s been generous they have 5 restaurants but you can not book the steak house or the Japanese unless you up grade to the sister hotel and can’t eat in the buffet definitely not worth travelling 9 hours from the uk tui know what its like and still sell it as a 4 star holiday they need to sort things out asap

Best hotel ever. The people there are amazing, service was perfect ! Food was just wow ! I love catalonia yucatan ! I love the people there, the guy with the playboy tattoo and the pokemon tattoo was amazingly nice ! Jonas, miguel, arturito .. the shows were amazing ! Thank you Catalonio resort ??????

Beach closed the whole week

Too many sargasses. Beach was closed the whole week. The smell was bad. The Pools were dirty and the rooms outdated. The food was good and the staff friendly which compensated for the beach, rooms and bad smell. The area is lovely and close to the marina, which we loved. I would go back but not in May. Also I would have liked the hotel to give us a coupon for a next stay, especially given the fact the beach was closed the whole week. Also the bracelet opens the room door which is good but when it did not work it took 45 min to repair.

Not all inclusive

This resort was honestly one of the most disappointing travel experiences I’ve had. It is advertised as two connected hotels with shared “all inclusive” access, but that is extremely misleading. You do NOT actually have access to everything, and for a resort this size, having only ONE buffet and ONE snack bar makes absolutely no sense. The buffet was surprisingly small and the food was honestly bad. Not repetitive — BAD. Every day felt like the exact same options over and over again, and after a few days we were forcing ourselves to eat because there were barely any alternatives. The drink situation was just as frustrating because they only open one bar at a time depending on the schedule, so you spend half your vacation standing in lines waiting for drinks. Our first room had barely functioning AC and the door didn’t even lock properly. We switched from the first floor to the third floor after two nights to be closer to our friend, and the second room was no better. For a resort that advertises itself the way it does, the rooms were incredibly underwhelming. What upset me the most was the treatment from staff at the front desk. We came as 3 girls celebrating my birthday with 2 rooms booked, and somehow one of the women at reception cancelled our restaurant reservations. Then we were told to come back at 8 PM to eat, only to arrive and find the restaurant practically EMPTY. It honestly felt disrespectful and disorganized. On top of that, despite mentioning multiple times that we were there celebrating a birthday, the resort completely forgot about it. To be fair, there were two staff members who genuinely made the experience a little better: Leobardo at the sports bar, who was one of the only consistently friendly and helpful people we dealt with, and one of the baristas at the snack bar who made amazing iced coffees every day. They were highlights in an otherwise frustrating experience. I also want to mention that the beach situation was terrible, but I don’t blame the resort for that. The seaweed was piled in literal mountains and heaps everywhere. Staff were constantly trying to clean it, but it just kept coming back, which is obviously more of an environmental issue than the hotel’s fault. Unfortunately, the overall experience was still awful enough that I can confidently say I will never return. The only reason this trip was enjoyable at all was because of the people I traveled with — definitely not because of the resort. 1 star out of 5.
