Terrible! There are far better resorts that offer much more and exceptional customer service! Beware of this place!

As a frequent traveler, I am truly shocked by the treatment I have received here at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. This trip marks my fifth (and final) visit to Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. While I understand that customer service expectations may differ in Mexico compared to Canada/USA, the experiences I’ve encountered have been unacceptable. My family and I are currently here on a 10-night stay, booked as a ULC guest of a long time member. We are now on night five, and I’ve had to change rooms three times for various reasons, both serious and minor. In my opinion, Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya barely deserves a two-star rating. The hotel is currently under renovations. Although in the past they were able to hide/keep quiet most of the renovations (based on other vacationers comments) they are occurring in many areas now including where my room is. A lot of the work is quite sloppy. You can see many paint splatters and dust in various areas. Also, there are many dirty areas and frequently malfunctioning elevators. Unfortunately, I’ve found that ULC staff lack adequate customer service, although I must acknowledge that there are a few exceptional hotel staff members deserving of their own review. During 2 of my room changes, I had no drinking water available. Despite numerous calls and messages to ULC reception and my personal concierge (whom I have seen once since we arrived), the situation has yet to be addressed (room change #2). In both room changes, I had no drinking water. I called the ULC reception MANY times and messaged my concierge many times. Although I was told several times "they are on their way" to deliver water, it wasn't delivered. It was late in the evening so i did go to the bar and filled my mug to get me through the night. As any traveler knows, you can't drink tap water in Mexico but somehow this doesn't seem of importance to this hotel. Now I'm in the second room waiting for water AGAIN. It is clear that is about the money and not about the customer. In my first room change, I finally got water over 24 hours later! Second room change: The ULC reception employee "Antonio" told me at 4:15 PM that he would be sending someone to bring water and address the room issues.. nothing. I called again at 6:40 PM. He told me he'd call them again and as I was telling him the importance of the water to me, he asked me if I "was done". I couldn't believe he said that, so I asked him to repeat what he said. He said "Are you done? Because if you are, then I can get off the phone and call them again". I feel this was a very rude comment to make and guess what, regardless of what he said/did, I still do not have water. It is now 12:42AM. Of course, I know water is not coming. SERIOUS ISSUE: The more serious ssue I had was when I came into room #2. There was water everywhere from almost one end to the other of the room. I thought it might be the fridge, but there was way too much water. After. I cleaned up the water, I called ULC reception/messaged my personal concierge a few times and finally a repair man came. He started working on it and found out it wasn't the fridge, the leak was in behind the fridge (a burst pipe). He could not fix it until the next day. I was expected to stay in the room even though there was a concern of mold which, as most people from a first world country knows, mold exposure could make person ill and could even be deadly. I had to stay in the room that night and one more night until I got moved to room #3. Room #3 is okay; a few minor things but like I said, not having water is ridiculous! I truly hope that this review will help you decide whether to come here or...NOT. I expected more from Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, especially as a returning guest. My family and I have tried to remain optimistic during our stay, but I believe improvements are crucial for this resort to meet the standards of its competitors. This experience has been a letdown, and we will not revisit in the future and I am sure, they do not care!

Our waiter, Roger Hernandez from Pueblito Lindo was excellent. Very attentive and gave us genuinely kind service. That plus the food, I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much to him and the rest of the staff!!!!!!!!!!
