#1. First I want to thank “ THE” entire STAFF!! These folks are excellent; from the front desk, cooks and wait staff, the trolly drivers, grounds keepers to the plumber ( who we had occasion to meet); these folks are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, funny and go far beyond anything we have experienced elsewhere. A special shout out to our dear “Susanna” server, at the all day buffet. We would have gladly taken her home to Prince Edward Island Canada with us, but I doubt she’d like the weather. Seaweed is raked up throughout the day and wheeled away, it wasn’t an issue at all. And there was “no odour”. The food was excellent, and easily accessible all day long, in any and all locations. The resort is extremely well appointed, and huge; with lots to see and do, and maintained in pristine condition. Our room was very nice, and very well kept. The ever present wildlife is a delight. The entire resort is a twitter with beautiful tropical birds and their songs. Iguanas roam free, there are quite a few of them. Capybara’s, Long ringed tail Raccoons, and the odd stray cat, come out in the evening. The roadway’s cut gently through the jungle lead you from one magnificent and beautiful building to the next. There are numerous beautiful statues (indoors and out), dotting the landscape; the paved paths make it easy to get around; and are a source of entertainment “in and of themselves” especially at night, when the canopy is up light. The beach is long and their’s no shortage of shaded Tiki huts or lounge chairs. The place is perfect until you hit the water line, then the hard and rough limestone bottom is treacherous, it does not make for a great swimming experience.

Having visited the Bahia Resort over the past 23 years, we were not disappointed when we chose the Sian Ka’an adults only resort. Not necessarily my personal favourite but it did not disappoint. This complex is basically our ‘second home’ , which says alot for the staff. It’s definitely the people that keep us returning to the Bahia. From the managers to the gardeners, they are amazing. So many friends over the years and so many still at the resort complex. All four hotel complexes are maintained by amazing staff and SK is no exception. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to visit this area and make the acquaintances that we have made over the years. Though it was a short visit, we had a wonderful time, allowing us to visit with our friends and make new friends at the hotel. Being a luxury and adults only, it is very quiet and the solitude was gratefully received. Food selection at SK is slightly better and appreciated, together with the alcohol selection. Amazing Bartenders…. I might add . Nothing is perfect in this world however, if you don’t enjoy yourself at this Bahia (all 4 hotels) then you are doing something wrong. Again, I won’t name names of the staff for fear of forgetting one or two. They are all wonderful…Managers, Guest Services, Reception, Wait Staff, Bartenders, Maids, Mini bar staff, Gardeners…everyone. So relax, enjoy and have a great vacation. One thing…don’t sweat the small stuff.
