Nice and quiet!

hodnetti1620 (Edmond, Oklahoma) on Sep 12, 2023

This was our second time at Zoetry. It has an incredible atmosphere for people who want to get away to a quiet and relaxed destination. It was never crowded or loud. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially pool staff Adriana and Manuel. The food is interesting with great presentation and is all made to order. That said, you're in Mexico so the flavor profiles are different so be ready for that. My wife struggled to find something she liked for the first two days, while I enjoyed trying things I have never had before. The only downside is the property has aged a little since we went last stayed 7 years ago. Our room leaked in two places when we had a solid rain not a big deal, but not ideal. We didn't go there to spend a lot of time in the room.

Awesome! Minor tweaks but nothing too bad.

The resort is very serene and peaceful. I enjoyed most of the time we didn’t have to hear people yelling or becoming belligerent after a few drinks of alcoholic beverages. It wasn’t a big resort so going anywhere was very convenient. Numerous other guests would loudly and proudly proclaim this resort was helpful mentally and an awesome short getaway from their busy lives. The suites were spacious and had adequate closet space. I really enjoyed the food and the service from Mariano, Humberto, Jonathan, Julissa at Kaax. Erik and his coworkers at Dragons. Pamela and Humberto at Chiringuito. Chef Marcelino made my stay very special and was courteous to my food restrictions. Manny at the Library Bar was AWESOME as Victor at Hippos Bar. Both offered superb drink requests. Jose and Manuel as our pool waiter were AWESOME and hard working as well as their colleagues. I enjoyed Miguel and Enrique’s help with driving us guests around in the golf carts. The staff at UVC were very nice and understanding and patient and willing to help in any way possible. Rosario and Erica were very helpful at the Spa. I was impressed by the Room Service. While I understand it would sometimes take a long time (weather and overload of room service requests) the food was delicious and the best room service food I’ve ever had at a resort. The cleaning staff were nice. I enjoyed Dulce’s water aerobics class! Unfortunately I only attended one but she was an awesome entertainer. However, I did not enjoy a male worker’s attitude at the Spa (I did bring this up to the staff). While he did not use a bad tone, he had poor word choice when explaining tardiness. There is a need for the cleaning crew to have some uniformity. While I’m able to place my own shower mat onto the floor it caught me off guard that some of the cleaning crew would place out the shower mat or replenish the bottled water, the towels (face, hand, and body), the amenities in the room, or bring clean cups and take the dirty cups whereas others would not. I did not bring this up with the staff. The suite is in need of some maintenance but nothing which would prevent me from returning to the resort. The beach was dirty and murky due to the sargassum. I do not know who is responsible to clean it or maintain it clean. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I would return to this resort. After staying in a small resort/boutique, I don’t think I can stay at a medium size or large resort ever again.

Do your research!!

The husband and I spent four nights on the Impressions side and were very pleased with our stay. The suite, our butler Carlos, and the amenities were wonderful. Seriously- a big shout out to Carlos, he was amazing. The food was very good for an all inclusive, we especially loved the grill’s menu at lunch. Very nice seafood options, including great ceviche. Dinner was a bit limited as others have noted, usually just two restaurants open per night, but everything we had was fresh and flavorful, which isn’t always the case at an all inclusive. No need for reservations is a huge plus for me. If you have to wait for a table they will fetch you from the Library or Pool bar. Drinks were mostly wonderful and always delivered with a smile and usually a snack. The house wines need to upgraded, especially the white options. This resort is a tough one, it gets ridiculously glowing reviews, a lot of which are the posters 1st review. That’s always a red flag for me. Oddly no one at the resort asked me to do a TripAdvisor review… It also gets horrible reviews, but most of those are posted by the same first time reviewers. So I think you need to do your research and check your expectations. The Impressions side is modern and very comfortable, even though it seems to have a lot of unused public spaces. The other side I have no experience with but gets a lot of complaints and compliments. I do know it’s older so the rooms can’t compare with the gleaming new big resorts in the area.. The common areas are great- pools, restaurants, are beautiful and extremely well kept. This isn’t a mega resort, it’s somewhere you come to chill. Thankfully no DJ’s or pool parties. If you want that, go elsewhere. Now, the kicker. The resort has no control of sargassum but it was really awful. The water was brown the entire time we were there. Like seaweed soup. Such a shame. I knew it was a strong possibility since we booked in August but was still a little shocked. We were looking for a quick getaway so I took my chances. We still enjoyed our stay but if the beach is really important to you don’t book in summer. No fault of the resort, but definitely kills the Caribbean beach vibe. The views from the pools and main area are still great, minimal brown water in sight since the resort grounds sit higher than the beach. To recap- this is a wonderful small, chill property. Do your research to make sure it’s a good fit. It certainly was for me and I’ll consider a return trip not in sargassum season. Even with the unusable beach I very much enjoyed my stay, and I’m not easy to please :)

Relaxing place and awesome staff!

jkevinlivingston (Toronto, Canada) on Aug 12, 2023

We wanted a place to get away and de-stress and this was just about perfect for that purpose. The resort is on the small side and so dining options are a bit more limited than other larger places, but we certainly enjoyed all the food. The beach is minimal and not too picturesque compared to other sites. But the real key to this place is the friendly and attentive staff members who made our stay a joy. Thanks to Fernanda in the library bar who provided wonderful treats for my gluten free wife during afternoon tea time. Manuel in the spa was first-rate and kind, as were the two Franciscos, Jose, Ingrid and Esteban at Kaax. And special thanks to Mauricio at the front desk who went above and beyond the call of duty to help us in numerous ways. We loved this place and the people.
