Relaxing Get a Way at a tired resort

GoPlaces821711 on Nov 22, 2021

My daughter and I went away on a mother- daughter get a way. She is a member of this AMR HOTEL group and had only stayed at their Secrets resorts. She had been told that Zoetry was a more low key but top of the line resort in this chain. From the moment we arrived, we were shocked at how tired and old this resort was. We were not greeted in the usual manner she was used to as a member and we had to wait 5 hours until we could check into our room. We were quite disappointed. The positives: The rooms are quite spacious and the views are spectacular from every room. There are only 3,restaurants and the food is excellent! Peacocks , toucans and lizards walk around the resort. We even had a peacock visit us in our balcony one night! There is only one main pool to sit at but it is lovely and the service at the pool is fabulous. The beach is quite narrow but it is kept beautifully and there was no seaweed! We heard many guests say that the resort was too quiet: no music, no entertainment. As this was a mother- daughter week - we were fine with it being so quiet. Although we had a lovely time, we would not return! This resort needs a major overhaul!

Awful ..

Penelope D on Nov 22, 2021

My girlfriend booked this thinking it was upscale and v posh. She checked us in, we had a look around, went to the scruffy dated room .. not impressed. The homeless in London get better accommodations. Went to the pool and spoke to a couple who said basically this resort is for the elderly, the overweight, the boring, the lazy and people who enjoy being bitten the death with mosquitoes. So, I called the Ritz Carlton, booked a suite, packed our bags and after four hours in the place, left. Not interested in refund, don’t need the money but on the face of it, they do. You have been warned ..

A 3 dressed up as a 9 . It was a waste of my time and $$$$

This is a small resort, dated and in need of a make over . Outside the small things likeno towels to dry your hands at the lobby /beach bar,no way to lock your sliding glass doors in your room,The inability to get a hot coffee or a wine glass matched to the wine your drinking this resort has other major issues. There is no music or entertainment of any kind which I understand is their policy so if your looking for a little soft jazz or a spot to dance the rumba you won’t get it here. The resort lack life , lacks comfort as there is limited seating,( and what’s available is worn and outdated). Our time here was more an interment then a sun holiday. The chase lounge chairs are left out in the rain get wet and are in such poor condition it would be unsafe to sit on them. The sponge mattress fills with water and insects and mold and never drys out. Rooms are large with basic bed linens well pass there prime and towels best donated to a youth hostel. The smart tv would suggest access to your connected world but it’s not so. The beach is small with limited seating and the flies are rampant. On this trip I received 100s of fly bites despite liberal use of fly dope. My request to move to another resort for my second week was met with delayed response , refusal and finally $1000s more in additional charges should I change resorts. Thank you air Canada vacations and zoetry for being totally un-helpfull. So what’s good here? The food. While the service staff need full training (forgetting orders, not refilling coffee or wine) the food makes up for. It’s the bugs more then anything that is a worry, seems no amount of spray will control them

Honeymoon one week all inclusive

597katrinaw (Pinellas Park, Florida) on Nov 20, 2021

We visited the resort for a week long all inclusive honeymoon vacation. It was very relaxing with the beauty of the resort, king suite, private pool, salt water and sea water pools, wildlife, and spa. The spa was elegant and the massage services, facial, and water baths were so wonderful! We especially enjoyed the yoga (with Daniel), Thai chi, and sound healing in the pools and on the dock. The food and customer service was excellent! We would definitely come back again! All the drinks including coffee, cocktails , and juices were so fresh! The bath and shower in the king suites were amazing too. Beds were comfortable! Private pool in our suite and lounge area was the best part!

Relaxing quiet vacation, nicely appointed with amazing staff but facilities are aging.

firstswan (Dover, New Hampshire) on Nov 20, 2021

We have wanted to try this supposedly Luxurious resort and enjoyed our time but were disappointed in the quality of some of the aspects. First the good, staff was exceptional all around and we were very impressed with Mario who waited on us several times, pool attendant Manuel and Senetel (sp) our concierge. The rooms were large, clean and very comfortable but well out of date and in need of an update. The food was delicious with the exception of steak and burgers being overcooked at Canoa. Do not go for an exciting, busy vacation but if you want to relax , be treated very well and can entertain yourself it will work. The spa was way too expensive for me so I didn't try it, $650 for a couples massage.
