The staff as a whole make this hotel!

The location of this hotel is pretty good as within easy stroll of the Marina and a small shopping area. The shuttle bus moves you between the sister hotels which is a great asset although some dodgy timings did cause some friction between hotel guests and reception staff. The hotel is dated, but they are working hard to update the rooms and they cleaning staff work to keep the whole site clean even with workmen on site. Our room was on the top floor (362) and was a very good size. We loved the top feature window too. The curtains did shut, although they were a foot short which made us laugh. The air con is excellent and not too noisy. An area of the rooms which need urgent attention are the showers in the upper floors. They are fixed to the tiles, which means the showers are not always as clean as they should be but the worst bit is the lack of water pressure and no easy way of getting an ideal water temperature. You are able to eat and drink in the Bay Gardens Inn and Hotel if you are all inclusive but only twice for lunch and twice for dinner with one drink at the Beach & Spa resort. We had booked via BA and were fully all inclusive which meant we had free access to all 4 Bay Garden hotels although we never really made the most if that as we were happy at the Marina Haven. The lunch menu here is excellent, although a few days there was a buffet lunch instead which wasn't our favourite. The menu for evenings tends to be mainly buffet at lunch and once during the week, then a la carte for the remainder. We tended to eat our main meal at lunch as the dinner menu choices were quite limited. The buffet is only heated via burner candles under the serving dishes which were not always overly effective. We did have one evening where the heaters had not been maintained and the food was stone cold. We spoke to the new Restaurant Manager Kertney the following morning and she was horrified and I have to say that was never the case again for the rest of our stay. The drinks offerings were pretty good, although the stock levels were far too inconsistent. They ran out of red wine totally on evening as well as the local beer Piton. Much of the time it appeared that they did have the stocks but often the person behind the bar couldn't be bothered to top up the stocks. This brings me on to the staff. Kertney only started a month ago and you can see she is working really hard to achieve a more consistent level of service. Some nights you could be left without a drink at dinner despite asking more than once which was quite frustrating. The mainstay waiting staff are Eufaimia and Gertrude! The young lady who worked on the tables and behind the bar would crack mirrors if she smiled and made you feel like you had inconvenienced her if you asked for a drink. On an evening behind the bar, she slammed drinks on the bar and refused to utter a word. Hospitality is most definitely not suited to her. Behind the bar you have the wonderful Arnold, Shem or Jamelle. Arnold is the loveliest person with a ready smile and is as cool as a cucumber under pressure. He also has a great voice! Jamelle was fantastic behind the bar too. Shem is very hot and cold. One minute he was very funny and attentive but in the click of a finger he could turn sullen, to the point of rudeness. The problem is that you never know which Shem you were getting. He was disrespectful to other staff members too which was really difficult to watch. He would also just wander off and leave the bar with nobody so other staff would have to jump on. Massive shout out to Jamie in Security and also to the entire maintenance team who work so hard each and every day! We also met some amazing people which is a major benefit of a small hotel, and to the group of polish people whilst we were there; you brought the party! :) All in all I would recommend this hotel and it is only minor issues which mean only a 4 star review: Cleaners forgetting to top up tea and coffee, or forgetting to leave enough towels. Inconsistent staff behaviour Stock levels- no excuses here, if you are all inclusive you should not run out of the wine or beer on offer
Nice hotel but few negatives need to be addressed

Hotel is a bit of a drive from the airport. Once there, it’s a small hotel, 34 rooms all overlooking the pool and gardens. Check in was quick, however the receptionist was a bit lacking in certain information. She never mentioned that the all inclusive was available at the sister hotel , Bay Gardens hotel, we only found this out from other guests, she did not mention that the Wi-Fi code for the group was the same ( when we asked for the code at the other hotel the receptionist snapped back “it’s the same!!!!!”)the staff at this hotel are unfriendly to other bay gardens guests and they change attitude to guests at their hotel ( very unprofessional). The room had an iron and ironing board, air con, fridge with one coke , one sprite, one beer and two waters ( not replaced during stay, but bottles of water available from the bar and a water fountain by the bookcase near the restaurant.)tea coffee milk ( randomly replaced) kettle, hairdryer, safe , toiletries in dispenser in shower room. Restaurant had buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch ( quite good choice) dinner is a mixture of buffet and other days a la carte. Bar is open from 11am to 10.30pm good selection of cocktails and a range of drinks.Pool is a strange shape , quite small with sunbeds all around it. No umbrellas but there are shady areas. As it’s a small hotel we never struggled to find a bed ( no getting up at silly o’clock to reserve a spot) . We had live music twice in our first week and nothing in the second. One was a singer with a steel drum the other a duet ( with lap top ). Sunday night is Karaoke night( not our idea of fun , but other guests joined in). There is loud music on Friday and Saturday from another establishment ( nothing the hotel can do about). We were lucky as there was a major power outage on the island on Friday but Saturday was loud until 2pm and then a bit quieter until 2.30 when it stopped ( the music was constant country and western). The hotel runs a shuttle bus to the other hotel and the beach . We were TUI all inclusive so could have one lunch and one dinner at the beach and spa hotel per week. The garden team keep the grounds looking good. There are a few negatives , one was the lack of information on arrival ( as mentioned), the service at lunch can be extremely slow, and some evenings there was a long wait for the starter and then the main came out almost immediately. Hotel ran out of red wine one night and also tonic water ( somebody is not monitoring the stock properly as delivery seems to be every day) . The hotel aslo ran out of hand towels ( the towels used have seen better days). Pool bar could open a bit earlier then 11. Rooms are a bit dated ( our wardrobe doors didn’t close properly). The following deserve a mention as they go the extra mile for you. Roland on reception, Arnold in the restaurant and bar( also a good singer)Eufemia and Gertrude in the restaurant, Jamie the security guard. Then there’s Shemi, in a good mood he is full of fun , at the bar he sings and dances and had a good relationship with the guests, in a bad mood he is blunt ( to the point of almost being rude) and grumpy . I would return , just hope the hotel pick up on the negatives.

Had lovely 10 day break here would definitely return…found the staff here most friendly compared to the other 2 sister hotels …food and drink both excellent…cleaning of rooms not always the best sadly …pool was kept clean …special mention to Ketharney (may have that spelling wrong ) who apart from restaurant manager seems to do everything from singing in the bar to sweeping the floor !! Roland Arnold Shemi and Jamie all made the holiday special…thank you

Only 35 rooms so relatively small hotel but staff with big hearts. Wonderful 3rd floor ample bedroom location: from front watch beautiful sunset over the marina, from bedroom balcony view of swimming pool, pretty wrap round of hotel & hills in the distance. Genuinely friendly staff: helpful housekeeping, kind Jessie, entertaining Shem & amazing Arnold. Knowledgeable Ornica, the wonderful restaurant ladies, fantastic chef. Mwah, they ALL made our holiday so special: we were spoilt, nothing too much. Hotel shuttle to the 2 "sister" hotels so convenient. Local bus stop 5 min walk for a bus straight into bustling Castries town. Friday street party, easy 20 min max stroll. Holidayed with cousin & we are both ladies in late 60s. I would definitely stay again and would be happy to go solo.
Lovely hotel everything was perfect staff are very friendly and helpful, food was lovely.
