Amazing Resort! Tons of restaurants, tons of pools, huge property with lots of variety. Great for adults and children. Entertainment and stages with lots of shows. Customer service is top notch and the food is delicious. Water activities, private beach access. It’s pricey! But it’s worth it.
Significantly deteriorated

This is our third stay, and won’t be returning. Over the years, the service has gone downhill, to the point where basic service isn’t addressed, and for this price point, it’s unacceptable. Originally we were roomed on the 5th floor of the Italian Village, and the room keys would stop working within a day. On top of this, the 3 elevators all stopped working, which is a massive issue with 2 kids to lug up stairs. They sent a technician to fix the lock, and the key issues persisted. Additionally one of the thermostats was broken, and permanently ran, dropping the temperature well below 65 degrees. We were promised a room change, and were given the runaround for 24 hours, despite following up multiple times. Asked for a laundry bag, which was missing from our room, 3 separate times, before I escalated to the reception and night manager Lekeiso. Multiple people, in person as well as on the phone, aggressively attempted to get us to sign up for a return trip. When we responded with “no, we had a bad experience”, there was zero opportunity to follow up on why it was a bad experience. At this price point, the sales teams need to be upgraded beyond a boiler room telemarketing team. For our various troubles, Lekeiso offered 50% off photo purchases. He also promised a technician would fix the door of our new room at 8:15am, in between our kids nap. They did not show up, and instead called during the kids nap, to ask what was wrong with the door. Day manager Luke had no idea what we were talking about, and we had to re-explain the discount we were granted. The laundry is dropped off by 9am, and supposed to return by 6pm. Our clothes were not returned by 6pm. By 8pm, I followed up, and they promised to return the laundry immediately. Instead, someone knocked on my door, looking to pick up laundry. When they finally returned the laundry, it contained clothes that were not ours. A loyalty caller extended a $150 credit for our troubles. On checkout, Luke did not honor the $150 credit, saying our 50% off photos was already extended. Long ramble for a myriad of issues at Beaches, which are basic service and follow-up issues. Simple recommendations, that hopefully management can implement for their own sake: Fire Luke - as a manager, he is accountable for resolving operational issues with the resort team. He clearly doesn’t read emails, or have an understanding of how to address issues. Empower Lekeiso - his reports and actions were well done, just poorly executed on by the balance of the resort team. Also super understanding and calming in his interactions. Promote Sanet - was amazing at the spa with my daughter, wife and MIL Promote Simone- arguably there sole redeeming quality of Beaches, who remembers everyone’s drinks and names.
