Good location for sightseeing, room was very quiet. Bed was excellent and shower was great!
Breakfast in hotel restaurant was good, tho pricey. IGA nearby for sodas and snacks. We walked to both Gastown and Granville Island, tho we took taxis back. Great place to stay.
Historic hotel with AC problems and issues on providing service

This would be our second visit to the Fairmont Vancouver. We typically book this hotel because of its historic yet modern charm, plus it is centrally located within the city. Given the value for money, and the brand of the Fairmont, our expectations are typically higher than a standard hotel.
Although the rooms are small (due to being an older building), the rooms and bathrooms are up to date and remodeled. However, when we arrived, we found trash, left from previous guests under the bed. On the second day of our stay, although housekeeping went in to fix the room, the trash bins were not emptied. I had to gather all the trash in a bag and leave it outside our door!
Also, as I've seen on TripAdvisor, a common issue I noticed (and that we experienced too) is that the room is very warm. We visited early September when it is still warm outside and we had the Air Conditioning set to the lowest temperature with the highest fan speed. It did not make a difference. There was no cold air coming through the vent. Yes, there was a window, but we did not want to open the windows with all the noise from the city.
Lastly, there needs to be better sound proofing between the walls. The room next to us had a big group of people, and we could hear everything that was going on next door. I get the building is old, but given the money we paid and the type of hotel we are at, I am expecting more.
With the issues we experienced, I am still inclined to stay at the Fairmont again since these issues I mentioned above are all easy to fix. I am confident the Fairmont will live up to their standards and improve based on guest feedback.
