This was my worst vacation in Cuba, and I have been many times. The resort has certainly gone downhill. This was the comments from other repeat guests also. The food was terrible, even worse than regular Cuban food. No butter for 2 weeks. We were there for 2 weeks. I am not a picky eater. There was fish at 3 meals a day. For lunch and supper, for 14 days, the meat was little pieces of pork. Some days they had chicken kabobs with 4 bites of chicken. Vegetables were basically cabbage, carrots and squash/pumpkin. 5 different kinds of rice at all meals. You get my drift about the food. There was constantly construction and jack hammers going all day. The rooms are very outdated and need lots of repairs. For example, the bathtub was right down to the metal in places. I could go on but I will give the positive. The staff are amazing and will do what they can to help you out. Pools and grounds were very well kept. It's too bad as this used to be a good resort. We will definitely not return, which also other repeat guests said.
I have mixed feelings. Such caring staff but the hotel itself has really gone downhill according to repeat clients we s

First let me say the staff are amazing. The pools are beautiful and clean. The grounds are lovely. We were initially on the second floor, there were four of us. The stairs were falling apart and the railings were not secure. There was absolutely no lighting in the area of our rooms. We went to reception and asked to be moved. Our two friends were moved that day and we were moved to the first floor the following day. The mosquitos in the rooms were unbearable. I had a large can of raid with me but I couldn't keep up with the amount of mosquitos each day. There were omlettes every morning and pasta every evening. Other than that the food for us was terrible. It was my first and last visit to Cuba.
