Hotel is well located in the Bay Area. It has a Starbucks in the lobby. Warm chocolate chip cookie on check in. Valet parking is 30 plus fees. No decent food, so Starbucks or one of the many other restaurants are close. TV is poor, with all streaming services not working in the room. Noise is high from street below. Carpets dated
As Good As Always

My recent four night stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Victoria was up to the same high standard I experienced in my first stay last year and even better in some respects so helped make for a wonderful Fall holiday. After riding the city bus in from the airport and arriving at the hotel mi-morning, I was warmly greeted with the signature DoubleTree cookie and advised my room was ready, a pleasant surprise to be sure as it's always nice to drop the luggage before heading out for an afternoon of sightseeing. I was assigned room #210, a second floor King bed room with a small balcony facing up the quiet Humboldt Street and a view of the noisy construction ongoing across the street as work on the Telus Ocean Tower has progressed to the third floor above ground. The noise is inescapable between 9 AM - 5 PM but beyond my arrival day as I was out exploring greater Victoria all day the noise had no impact on my stay. The room features a King bed, a work desk with comfy desk chair (more to my liking than the one in my previous high floor view room) and lots of plugs for charging devices, a TV cabinet with microwave and hidden mini-fridge & drawer safe big enough for larger laptops. A closet with luggage stand was inside the hallway door so easy to access but the stand-out room feature to me was the large shower stall that made for very invigorating morning showers. I very much prefer this type of shower over the tiny tub/shower combo. In the shower stall a trio of Crabtree & Evelyn dispensers with shampoo, conditioner & body wash are fixed to the wall with another body lotion dispenser beside the sink. One small feature I came to appreciate in the bathroom was a motion-sensor night light under the vanity that provided just enough light to navigate without turning on the bright bathroom light. A bathroom exhaust fan was about the only thing I noticed that the room could benefit from but that's my only nitpick as the very user-friendly upscale bathroom scores very high marks from this guest and will definitely request this room or another like it when I return. Prior to arrival I did wonder whether ambient street noise staying in a low floor room would impact sleep quality but found it was a complete non-issue as the room faces away from the busy Douglas Street so heard no street sounds which made for excellent deep, relaxing sleep throughout my stay. While I enjoyed the views from the high floor room I was in for my first stay, I'd trade them for the better room comforts I found this time around and can only hope I'm fortunate enough to return again to this scenic seaside city and this outstanding hotel.
