Just ok

Rachael P on Feb 13, 2024

A nice upheld older hotel. Not equipped with the latest technology but wasn’t too bad. No view, but it’s a compacted city so for a work trip, not horrible. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was best fit for a single person traveling. There are no usb cable chargers but can work around that.

Disappointment

matthewrolst (Comox Valley, Canada) on Feb 01, 2024

Feb. 2024 This hotel property should de-flagged from using the Fairmont name. Room was not clean: dusty, hair in tub, stain on robe, stains on carpet, dusty/moldy HVAC vent. This room was connected to Royal Suite. To add insult to injury it was was right under the gym, so had to hear weights dropping. Ordered in room dining; overall meal was good however dessert did not match description. Was suppose to be ice cream and cookies however no ice cream arrived and cookies were stale and rock hard, for $12! Called to inform, offered to send up new dessert however declined. No empowerment displayed as had to negotiate the next day to have the $12 removed from bill and they did take care of valet too. Where is the Fairmont Service Promise ?! Nem the doorman/valet made the stay. He was attentive and very friendly. Fairmont corporate please send in LQA audit!

Not impressed

Nancy N on Jan 31, 2024

Staff was friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed one of our evenings in the lounge, bar staff was great as was the service. However, the rest of our 2 night stay was rather lackluster. The king sized bed in our room was not comfortable, there were sunken areas where people have slept and the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. I'm not sure what they laid the carpeting over, but there were multiple golf ball size hard Lumps beneath. Hot water in the shower was just a dream, the temperature never went beyond Luke warm. The day we chose to have breakfast in the restaurant, it was closed in preparation of the afternoon buffet. No problem. We were able to eat in the lounge. There were 6 of us at the table. We waited quite some time for the food to arrive. When it did, 2 people were served...1 dish was cold, the other was the wrong order. The remaining 4 of us waited another 30 min and I had to flag down the manager to ask when the rest of us would eat. The staff then hustled to bring out the other meals. Our meal was comped but I would rather have eaten as a group. Overall it was a very disappointing stay. The Fairmont USED to be a name that equaled quality and luxury. I am afraid that is not the case anymore.

Great place to stay downtown.

Erin2014A (Regina, Canada) on Jan 15, 2024

Great value for the service received. Room with breakfast included along with a nominal charge $4.00 for valet parking. Would stay here again. Connected to the Canada Life Centre through walkways so we didn’t have to go outside was a bonus. Was going to stay on the out skirts of Winnipeg but glad we stayed right downtown.
