It’s now tired. While the location is great the rooms are a bit tired. My condo 1120 wasn’t too bad but the other condo we had was more tired. The corridors and public spaces could be better maintained

This hotel was very comfortable and spacious for one room. We had a king-sized bed, full kitchen, sofa, small desk and of course a nice TV. Right on Waikiki Beach, ask about when the fireworks are scheduled -- I think it's Friday evening. Short program and enjoyable. Musicians and dancers performed in the lobby that night as well. Another night, the guitarist singer invited a well known hula dancer to perform. Her entire table of women got up and we watched 5 women gracefully tell their story. I thought they were elegant. There is also an ice cream store in the building -- don't miss the Tuesday special.

The Ilikai is located in the heart of Waikiki and is close to everything. There is a great beach next door at the Hilton Hawaiian Village which has lots of good shops and restaurants. The Ilikai also has Cinnamon's which is a good place to eat as well. They were renovating four of the floors with new carpet and wallpaper when we were there, although the carpet hardly needed it. Nice safe place to stay.

My family of 5 recently had a week stay at the Ilikai Hotel. We were on the 23rd floor in a 2 bedroom suite. The suite was spacious and comfortable with 2 large bedrooms and 2 decent sized washrooms. There were also 2 great balconies and we had a nice city and ocean view. My eldest daughter took the pull out sofa bed which was very creaky, and worn. She complained that she felt the bars and springs through the thin mattress. I did call down to ask if they could provide any sort of extra padding or bedding but they were unable to assist. The kitchen was well equipped and we bought groceries from the nearby ABC store for breakfast and snacks. The service was okay...housekeeping will not clean the dishes and there is no dishwasher in the suites. We even called down to say we would pay extra to have this service but they would not accommodate. The table was left frequently unwashed or cleaned and they did not provide cleaning tools for us to do so on our own. Not that we would really want to do that on holiday anyhow. The beach is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and there is no beach service. The front desk does provide beach chairs and towels but you must carry them down on your own. Also, the chairs are not loungers and are pretty uncomfortable. We schlepped them down to the beach the first day and then rented loungers and umbrellas from a beach vendor after that. The pool is small, definitely not glamorous in any way. It was the type of pool you would find in the basement of an old condo building. I would have expected something much nicer. We barely spent any time there. The little grocery shop in the hotel is outrageously priced...I think I saw a box of cereal for over $10.00!! We only had one meal in the hotel restaurant and it was mediocre. However, with all of that being said...the price of this hotel is right. As long as you know what you are getting. If I was returning with my kids or planning a long stay, I would consider returning to the Ilikai.
