Beautiful and hot!

Michelle R (Regina, Canada) on May 01, 2024

A lovely hotel that was spread out along the peninsula. We had access to three private beaches and were able to eat many meals with an ocean view. There were 152 stairs to our room, but luckily we had access to shuttle service anytime! The à la carts were wonderful and easy to book and the buffet had something for everyone. We were able to take part in many excursions, but the resort itself was wide and spread out and we were able to explore that as well. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment, especially the acoustic singing in the lobby.lost Bries was a place that many Mexican people went to vacation and Canadians.

Another Amazing Vacation at Las Brisas

remember_me_too (Maple Ridge, Canada) on May 01, 2024

This is our third time staying as Las Brisas since last April and we will be back! Our first time was April 2023 and we spoke so highly about it, two couples joined us for our trip December 2023. They were impressed! We always stay in the Beach Club suites because we enjoy the unlimited a la carte restaurants and the BBC lounge. We went over for breakfast and happy hour every day and found that the food was even better this time than the first two trips. The premade omelets that we love so much were served more frequently and the canapes at happy hour were delicious. The service was really good, as usual. We didn't have to wait for anything. The beaches are all amazing. In fact they are so good, we hadn't even put a toe in the pool until this trip. We wanted to try so spent a bit of time in the adult pool and it was nice and quiet. We love to walk and enjoyed navigating the hills. We only shuttled with our luggage at check in and check out, but there are plenty of shuttles to get you around. It was quite hot so for many they are an absolute necessity and are readily available. All in all another amazing trip. Our only regret is booking seven days instead of 10. Next time for sure!

April 10

This my second stay at Las Brisas and although good there could be some improvements. Air conditioning could be improved and rooms updated perhaps. Beaches are great for all ages. Lots of stairs so maybe not good for someone with walking issues.

A pleasant stay with some room for improvement.

I have visited nine different all inclusive resorts in Mexico and Cuba, and would put the Las Brisas Huatulco within my top three. The positives -The location is gorgeous, with beautiful bays, beaches, and scenery. -The service is uniformly excellent. Staff are responsive and go out of their way to provide an exceptional guest experience with few exceptions. Feliciana in the buffet took particularly good care of us. -The food service was very high quality. We found the buffet consistently good, and the specialty restaurants offered unique dishes and experiences. Some of the buffet food was a little cold, but that may be tough to address. -Our room was well cleaned and any maintenance issues were dealt with promptly. -The resort isn’t new but does seem to be well cared for. -In the couple of circumstances when we needed carts/shuttles, they arrived in a very timely way. -We never had to fight for seating at the Tornillo beach, which was a definite plus compared to other resorts we have visited. The areas to improve on -The way finding with the resort takes some time to get used to. The staff offer a map upon check in, but it is sparse in detail and lacks the walking paths to major buildings. Nor is there effective way finding or signage around the resort. It doesn’t take long to find one’s routes, but this could be resolved quicker with a fairly minimal investment in detailed maps and signage. -There must be a better system to provide clean drinking water than the super small single use water bottles that are provided. The resort touts its environmental work, but this is a pretty big oversight. -The resort doesn’t enforce rules around music. Several times, fellow guests had music playing via portable speakers or super loud smartphones on the beach despite signage clearly saying headphone use only. When we advised staff, they acknowledged the issue but basically did nothing. Simply enforce the rules. -The music from the pool was at times overpowering at the Tornillo beach. Aiming the speakers differently may help resolve this (like running cable to the perimeter of the pool and aiming the music in toward the building). Not to be a prude, but I'd rethink the use of Metallica's Master of Puppets. The things to note -This is a hilly resort. If you like to get your steps, you’ll certainly get what you need. If you want level surfaces and elevators, this is not for you. -We visited in April and experienced some very hot days. If we return, we will likely choose a slightly cooler time. -In the rooms, we would suggest additional hooks for towels and drying. Robes might be a nice addition as well.

Good hotel, needs improvements

karengiddings (Vancouver, Canada) on Apr 28, 2024

This is a solid choice. Las Brisas has amazing beaches and beautiful grounds, lots of animals around its beautiful gardens. The resort is very big, but they have free transportation (like golf carts) available all the time. It’s really helpful with the heat. But the hotel really needs important improvements. - Beaches - amazing, beautiful, crystal clear water, lots of fishes, great for snorkeling. Since we were there in April (end of season) we didn’t have a problem getting umbrellas, but it would be a problem during busy seasons. Bar opens at 11am. Service is Ok. - Rooms - We booked a BBC (Brisas beach club) room. Since I’m a member of their loyalty program, we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite. Room was big, simple but well decorated and very clean. Big closet, safe, iron, mini bar and coffee machine. - Food - Buffet is Ok at most. Hit or miss. Service in the buffet is awful. It was hard to get a drink, sometimes took a long time, other times we ate without any drink because we were not able to get one. The servers don’t even try to provide a minimum service. Mexican restaurant is good, Solarium is very good, Mediterraeo is excellent. Breakfast at the Mexican restaurant is excellent, with several options and a great omelette bar. - Entertainment - Very good. Some great presentations, live music around the pool at night, lots of people dancing. Drinks around the pool/ entertainment area are good. They even bring you some peanuts to accompany the drinks. - Staff - That was a big disappointment for me. I’m used to go to a good resort in Cancun where the service is amazing, super friendly. Most of the staff here are not friendly at all, they don’t smile, almost go out of their way to not look at you, and we were tipping all the time with pesos. We could not tip at all because it made no difference. The friendly ones were easy to recognize, because it was rare. - BBC lounge is nice to have. Again a hit or miss for food in the happy hour, but nice to have a drink and some nachos late afternoon. Breakfast is also decent if you are in a hurry and want to go back to the room before going out. - Much needed improvements: the hotel lacks information. At check-in they give you a map of the hotel, that’s all. No information about the restaurants, pool working hours, etc. One day I asked concierge how I could have information about what restaurants they have, menu, etc. He told me that I would have to download the app. Why nobody told us during check-in? No information in the room either. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would go back because of the beaches and the grounds, but service is unwelcoming. Management should do something about that.
