The golden nugget, they really did achieve what they set out to do. Bring a slice of the strip to downtown Vegas. Unlike the other hotels in downtown there just isn't that feel of need of renovation or tacky-ness. They've managed to achieve this with the white and gold decor, everywhere is generally to a great level of clean and manages to stay pretty much smoke for the majority of the day. Onto the rooms, ours was a huge room with possibility the most comfortable king sized bed I've ever slept in. Again clean rooms, plent of room to move stuff around and to store. There's a safe, free to use robes and slippers, around a 40inch TV with plenty of channels and a not so bad view facing north/west of the mountains. Our room was 1583 in the Carlson tower. We had 2 other rooms in our party, a one excatly the same and one with two double beds in the carlson tower. All rooms where thee same size however the two double were far to small, they didn't even look like doubles. Maybe a struggle for more broad people sharing. Casino and lobby have a great vibe although the check in is very slow. We arrived at 2pm (which is check in time for the hotel) and had to stand in the lobby and wait, returning every 15 minutes or so to the que to ask if our room was ready. At 4:45pm we finally got our room key. I was slightly annoyed as no compensation or even sorry off the lady at the desk was even given. (she wasn't interested in the slightest, after years of hotel stays that's definitely the worst experience I've had) The pool and shark tank is a good feature, although pool area gets rather crowded and the drinks are expensive considering I can sit in the casino and get the same drinks for $1. We visited the gym most days before heading out, again a little smaller. A few more machines would be alot better, there's also a weight room but again small. It's lucky not many people in Vegas work out at the hotel! I can't comment on food as we never ate there but some of the party did and recommended the buffet on floor two above the casino. Overall probably the best place to stay downtown Vegas but next time I'll definitely be staying on the strip. Not due to the hotel but that's just where you'll find yourself most days, especially if it's your first time in Vegas! I've added a few pictures from our window and the only ones I have of the room for reference.

Came for a wedding. The bathroom was so disgusting I had to go to Walgreens and grab cleaning supplies. It was awful - dirt, hair, gunk. The drain was super slow. The shower pressure was like being outside during a slight drizzle. But above all. I had to do their job and clean the bathroom just to be able to use it. Totally unacceptable. And it wasn’t only my room. Everyone in our group had different rooms in different areas, they all mentioned the dirty showers/ tubs.

If you've never experienced Fremont Street, the Golden Nugget is the place to stay. The Golden Nugget has nice rooms yet there Jr Corner Suites are absolutely marvelous and worth the price (and look just like the pictures). Now add the numerous restaurants and entertainment right outside the hotel doors and you have the all in one vacation with the ability to still go to the strip if you choose.

Terrible customer service! We only stayed at this hotel because we were attending a wedding. As soon as we walked in the safe was locked. We called the front desk to ask for someone to come fix it. Nope! Nobody came. The next day I had to call again and they finally showed over 30 minutes later. Later that day we got locked out of our room. Nobody could explain why then they said if we want a key we have to pay another $100 on top of $175 a night we already paid. This hotel isn't worth $75 a night more or less $175. It was 12:30 at night and all our stuff was in the room. We went to our room and it was never cleaned! So the next day guess what? We got locked out AGAIN! We got every excuse in the book but nobody could explain or help us because Jenna the manager wasn't present. Apparently the casino shuts down if she's not present and customer service gets put on the back burner. Oh, and the room wasn't cleaned AGAIN! I've never experienced such horrible customer service at any hotel.

    Love this hotel!

From checking in to checking out we had an amazing experience! The pool was great, the food (our favourite was the Claim Jumper) was superb & very affordable, the Grotto (Italian) served up the best cannelloni we’ve ever had & our room (Gold Tower) was huge & had everything we needed. The public washrooms are kept immaculate. When an unfortunate medical issue occurred while walking through the casino, Security was quick to help me. They’re kindness & respectful way of assisting me was deeply appreciated. So if you’re looking for a great place to stay in Las Vegas this is it!!! Special thanks to Martha Sanchez!
