I surprised my wife for her 30th Birthday with a trip to NYC. I booked the Marmara Manhattan as they were the first hotel / apartment to respond to my query. I spoke to a lady called Lisa Darbasie who was very helpful , I explained we would also have our 8 month old daughter and they arranged private transfers from JFK airport for us both arrival and return. It was a great place as a central hub for our stay, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and had everything we required for our stay , kitchen was well equipped also. My only point is the rooms furniture could be updated but other than that I would 100% recommend this place. Thank You.

Spacious apartments, good location, friendly staff.

We were staying a week and needed 2 bedrooms for our family. These apartments were perfect. The positives: location great, subway and bus stop right outside hotel or a $20 taxi to mid town. Fifteen minute subway to Times Square and fifteen min walk to Central Park. Great to escape the city in the evening and get back to the Upper East Side. Loads of shops, bars and restaurants and coffee houses all in the immediate vicinity. Good neighbourhood, felt very safe. Staff couldn’t have been better from reception staff to cleaners. Always smiling and happy to chat. Apartment very spacious and bed very very comfortable. Negatives: the decor and furnishings are a little dated. Perfectly clean and useable, just worn down. The showers over the baths were great, but I wouldn’t fancy taking a bath in those tubs!! Yellow cab from JFK standard $60 plus toll (5) excl obligatory tip!! Overall this was a well researched find. It was perfect for our week away and what we needed. Would certainly come back. Great location, value for money and staff.

Room was a decent size. However, the hotel messed up our phone reservation and booked us for the incorrect nights. They ended up charging us an extra night and said we could discuss with the manager the next day. The manager ended up being unavailable in person or by phone for the extent of our stay. When we followed up a couple of days after we left, the manger wouldn’t speak with us directly to resolve the billing dispute.

This is an excellent location for family, away from the crowded Times Sq area, but easily accessible to the subway system. Large suites with helpful, friendly staff. We rented a three bedroom suite for Christmas in NYC

We had to relocate to this hotel with our 2 young children due to a flood in our apartment across town. The hotel is in a massive building right at the foot of the Q train. It's a bit shabby, but if you're coming into town for a week or more and there's a few of you, I could see it being a good place to come back to rest every day. Staff so far have been very nice and the Q train is extremely easy to get to midtown, downtown and Brooklyn on. The 3-bedroom we have is very large with huge closets, great views and a kitchen that's stocked well enough. But for longer stays, it begins to show its limitations: the kitchen is not super great for those who prefer to cook all the time, the unit is a bit dated i.e., the tubs in particular are a bit gross (don't use the jacuzzi!) and the gym downstairs is sad.
