    My husband and I have visited the Grand Ventana resort several times, the last in January 2020. I can't wait to go back, but because of Covid-19, we can't visit this year. This makes me very sad. The people make this resort. From managers like Raoul, and server Hipolito, and others that I can't recall all the names. The rooms are very comfortable and very close to the beach. They are so close that you can hear the waves of the sea from your room. The food at the A la carte are second to none, my favorite being the Ocean Grill.

    Stayed here for couple of months, changed my room 4 times I think, as I cannot stay in a moldy room. The tropical climate makes it difficult for the hotels, but still, they should change the furnitures also more often, of prefer non-fabric ones. Staff was nice. Food quite ok on the buffet. And right next to the beach. But WiFi, terrible. Also a bit in the middle of nowhere, if you would be interested of seeing something else than a touristic resort.

    I have been to GV twice, can't wait to go back. So many great staff that I got to know well and are part of the reason I am wanting to return. Laura, whom I got to know in the entertainment group but has now been promoted to guest services has always been most personable, friendly, and helpful. Her helpfulness and easy smile made every day smooth and relaxing. Carlos at the door was the first face I met, greeting us with a cool drink and refreshing cloth. While we were there, he went out of his way to assist us in getting transport to see the local sites. Our airport transfers were seamless, thanks to his attention to detail. I have booked as soon as possible as the resort re-opens this fall.

    I have been to this resort a number times over the last nine years. I can tell you that I have nothing but love for it. While it's on the small and quaint side, the staff are what really make this place shine! From the moment that you are greeted by Carlos, the bellboy, with a smile that lights the world, to all of the rest of the staff including Elvin my favorite bartender with all of his mixology skills...Laura who makes my stay extra special every time I am there... there's nothing about this place not to like. I wish I could name every every person personally who makes my stay there amazing!

    It was the first time we visited Puerto Plata. From up from the plane, this island looks lush and so green. We felt that we were landing in Hawaii rather than a Caribbean island. We could not wait to start our beautiful trip. Our resort was about 20 minutes away from the international airport and a nice ride there. From the time that we arrived there, we were greeted by the friendly staff of Gran Ventana. As we arrived in the afternoon, the activities were in full gear. Lots of activities happening, laughing, dancing and good cheer in the pool area. It had an amazing vibe of hospitality and friendliness that we had not experienced at other resorts. The nightly shows were a lot of fun, especially the Michael Jackson show! Wow. It brought us back to our teenage years. Spectacular performances. There was another aqua show too done at night, which was very different that what we had seen before. The entertainment staff, including their gracious manager, Carlos did a fantastic job keeping everyone busy; even on those rainy days there. Never did we feel that they were tired or fatigued. Hats off to their team for keeping the spirits up for all the tourists there. One of our favourite activity was the yoga sessions which were held either on the stage (rainy days) or on the grass near the beach. Our yoga teacher (Sonia Sharma from NRG2GO) was a certified Yoga Alliance teacher, who was very knowledgeable about yoga and meditation. She had a calming voice that was perfect during the coronavirus time. She gave us many exercises and meditations to help us remain calm during a challenging time for many. Although, nobody was panicking here, it was still nice to know that the resort had this activity to help their clients. We also had a beautiful walk on the beach on full moon night. It was spectacular to experience this. The food was perfect for us, since it gave provided great variety for vegetarians and meat eaters. Delicious experience! One of the days, I had some issues with my internet, and the patient staff were very helpful. They would go out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of. With it’s lively ambiance and friendly atmosphere, we definitely want to go back again!! Ten out of ten for this resort!!
