This is a surf review. If you’re not a surfer than this review may not be helpful. If you’re looking for a more detailed review of the resort there are a ton out there and they are accurate. The resort is a little outdated. If you aren’t a surfer there are plenty of other nicer resorts in the area. However, there are not many all inclusive resorts on a perfect right hand point. Trust me I looked. This was a couples trip. My wife doesn’t surf so surf camps in Central America are off the table. We like to have other things to do. Resort activities and excursions. (Atv and zip line tour with Vista Paraíso is 10 minutes away and world class. See my review). We stayed at an all inclusive in Cabo but we had to drive to the wave at la roca. Here at Palladium the resort is right on the wave of Punta Burros. Very similar wave to la roca, probably better. We stayed in building 13. Pay the extra money and get an ocean view. See pictures attached for my balcony view. Building 13 overlooks the adult pool and you can see the top of the wave. I spent a ton of time checking the surf from here. From building 13 it’s a two minute walk down to the wave. There’s a surf and water activities facility right where you paddle out. I can’t say enough how helpful the guys are at the surf facility. Eder and Jimmy were fantastic. Whatever questions you have they will help. I did not travel with boards. It was $200 both ways. The surf facility has a full quiver. They have a bunch of hobie longboards, mid lengths and funboards. They also have a selection of regular shortboards and fishes. Board rental is free. You can take them out as you please. It was nice having the option to change based on tides. The only issue is that the facility opens at 9:00. So no dawn patrols. The wave works best on a lower tide. A couple hours after or before high tide was fun. The wave gets fat at a low tide. The tide shift is different for me. There is only a 15 minute difference from day to day. One day low would be 10:30, the next day it would be 10:45. I was there for 7 days and surfed 5. I attached a screenshot of the surf report. 2-4, 3-4, 3-5, 2-4, 2-4. Chest to head with some well overhead days. Nothing crazy but so fun. Punta burros is right hand point that breaks over rocky reef. There’s urchins so be careful but I never hit the reef and I put myself into some dumb situations. It’s fairly deep. There’s a channel to paddle out from the resort. There’s a short left off the wave but I went left maybe 10 times. There’s several different take off spots so it’s easy to get waves. I mostly surfed with 10 people or less. The afternoon sessions at 12:00 would be empty. Most people surf morning and night. Either way most of the people surfing are from the resort. There are a few locals and they take priority. But the vibe is mellow. There will be some idiots from the resort surfing because it’s such a user friendly wave. The waves itself is not sectiony. It breaks perfect down the line. So a lot of cut backs. There aren’t many close out sections. It didn’t barrel when I was there. But it’s a really fun point that will break 100 yards every time. Water is warm and clean. The clarity is amazing. Overall, it was an affordable surf trip that my wife enjoyed as well. It’s one of the only all inclusive resorts on a good wave. If it’s purely an all surf trip that you are looking for maybe somewhere in Central America may be more your fit.

Just returned from a most amazing trip for a friends wedding at GPPV! This was our 3rd trip to this same resort and it was by far our favourite experience. From the check in to our room, our Bellman Hassam made it a breeze! Our Deluxe Ocean view room had a great overlook of the surf and only several steps from the adult pool. Victor the bartender at the pool was always around with drinks whenever needed! Arturo in the Hemmingway bar was always down to make something “Special” to drink, and very entertaining! Iscel and Juan at the lobby bar were also awesome! I highly recommend a spa experience. Alfredo helped with the bookings and Erika gave the most amazing deep tissue massages for post surf sore shoulders. Paula in housekeeping kept our room perfect everyday! Just an amazing overall experience form start to finish, from all staff and amenities. Looking forward to another visit again soon!!

    Great vacation until the end

Grand Palladium in Punta Mita is a very nice all inclusive resort. We were only there for 3 nights but enjoyed our time. It's especially great if you like to go surfing. The food was not great but probably above average for most all inclusive resorts. The problem happened when we're tried to leave. We had already scheduled a ride from a trusted friend who has a car service and we use him every time we come to the Puerto Vallarta area. When we left we had to walk to the main road for the pickup because the resort makes you pay 400 pesos if someone other than their taxis picks you up in front. We got to the main road and a man with a walkie talkie showed up and accused us of taking an uber which he said was illegal and they were going to call the police when the uber arrived. We assured him several times that it wasn't an uber but he didn't believe us. When our ride showed up and he realized it wasn't an uber he had two taxis block us from leaving and forced our driver to pay 400 pesos even though we were no longer on hotel property. They had no problem with us being dropped off by the same driver. Our driver told us they are the only resort that does that so keep that in mind when booking.

This resort is built on the side of a cliff overlooking the ocean. The adult pool is an infinity pool that looks out to the ocean and beach below. All of the restaurants are excellent and the people working in them want you to have a great experience. All of the people who work there are very nice and friendly and helpful. The only thing that could have been better is the balconies attached to the rooms. They are very small, only room for one chair and a table, and if you sat down on the chair, you can’t see over the top of the balcony wall that surrounds it. Also, if you close the sliding door when you are out on the balcony ,there is no door handle to open the door to get back into the room, you have to make sure someone is in the room to let you back in. Otherwise, it was a wonderful vacation

excellent value, great food, semi-crowded but not bad. lots of activities or just relaxation available. We were upgrade a room to ocean view with hot tub outside upon arrival and we felt it was worth the extra money to upgrade. the view was amazing and the "cold" tub outside was nice.
