Beautiful hotel and grounds. Golf course was fantastic. Hot showers, nice beds, clean and comfortable. AC worked well. Ladies enjoyed the pool and cabana. The hallways were a bit loud due to all of the children running loose unattended. Was actually very surprised a the amount of kids there. Great selection of eateries at hotel and within walking distance. Shops close by as well. A very high end resort. Very expensive.

This was our first visit to Scottsdale, and the Westin helped make it great. The grounds are lovely, and the proximity to the shopping center across the street is a huge plus. We enjoyed the pool and found that, with our teens, it was better to go later in the afternoon when there wasn’t a line to get into the area. My son enjoyed the flow rider, and we also found with it that it was better to go closer to 5:00. Note that there is an additional charge and you have to make a reservation. Both days he was able to reserve a time the same day. The outside dining area looked fun, but it was first come, first serve and filled up fast. All in all, it was a great stay.
Help yourself Hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was never touched. Had to ask for towels toiletries. If you are not going to service your customers then don’t charge the prices you do. Covid or not the rooms should be cleaned and refreshed with towels and toiletries. On the positive side the guys at the Valet were fantastic. Unfortunately we will pass on this hotel next time and stay where they service their customers!!
Set your expectations related to COVID

Just like most people during a pandemic, I opted to take my family during spring break to a driveable location from CA, where I knew had a great pool (lazy river) and weather. The resort is gorgeous and normally caters to conferences during "normal" times. But that dynamic has changed due to the pandemic. So, YES, it is a bit more crowded than normal. YES, the pool may have a wait when they open or have limited capacity, but remember that we are still in a pandemic. The hotel is doing the best they can with their limitations. Just have some courtesy and common sense. I waited in a line for 45 min to make sure I got a good spot at the pool, and I was OK with that. I can feel the hotel at a bigger capacity. OK with the sacrifice in order for my family to enjoy a full pool day. Service by the pool was great. The one server was very attentive and always checked up on us. Now, I also didn't hog up a bunch of chairs by the pool. We are a family of 4 and didn't need 4 pool chairs. We shared 2 and the kids were practically in the pool/river all day, so just be reasonable and I'm sure a lot more room can be made by the pool. Simple rule at the lazy river: leave the tubes when you're done using them. I wish they would just post this. The day I went, people did this and it assured everyone got a chance to enjoy a tube in the river. No need to hog a tube at your chairs. I didn't try the overpriced food at the resort because there are so many restaurants nearby. Since we had a car, we just picked up food, or ate at nearby mall. Overall, we had a great time!
Just ok

Pros: the property is beautiful and close to Kierland Commons shopping and dining. The snakes in the lobby area fascinated the kids. The bagpiper at sunset is really cool. Cons: it’s packed. We reserved cabanas at the adult pool so we would be guaranteed a place to sit. Be warned there is only one server at the whole entire pool. This is so ridiculous on the part of the resort. My family would’ve ordered twice as much if we had someone helping us. Kady, one of the servers, was hard to catch and charged us for items that the other servers on other days said were included with the cabanas. We have no idea what that was about. Cabanas are not worth the money. The pool food is very basic and very expensive. For example guacamole is $5 for about 3 tablespoons in a small container. Soft drinks are $4 each. Housekeeping is only every third day and there’s always a line at the front desk. The bars are not open very late. I probably would not stay here again.
