I’ve been here at the level for 3 hours, 2 of which I was waiting to check in. The excuse was that the room wasn’t ready. After finally gettin my room, the door lock doesn’t work!! Nor only that, but also the front desk people was even rude at some point. Truly disappointed specially given that I was paying the “superior” service. I hope things get better….

I had a wonderful experience with my family. Thanks to the staff of Melia Punta Cana for making our family vacation memorable.

Wen have vacationed in Punta Cana DC 10 times and love every one of them. We stay at the Level and love the service, food, beach, our room and our concierges. We ate dinner at Qumira. We had two concierges Juan and Jose we have had them for 10 years and they go the extra mile to make us happy. An example my wife had a birthday while at Melia and the 2 of them decorated our room and had a cake and a bottle of champagne waiting for us when we got back from the beach. They always called us and asked us which if the restaurants we wanted to eat dinner. One night we decided to go to the steak and lobster. It was a windy cool night and the wife dressed for a less windy night. She decided to call or concirrges and asked if someone could go to our room and get the wife's sweater. Both o them had left for the night and said they would take care of getting her sweater. A few minutes another concierge arrives and had her sweater. Above and beyond service. This is one of the many things they have done for us and it makes us return to MELIA we are always a Level customer because of service like this.

Our concierge Eddie Solutions was great. He anticipated where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do and already had everything arranged when we asked. We are definitely coming back.

This was our second time visiting DR, as a couple travelling we usually look for adults only resorts and avoid party resorts etc. After some consideratin we booked the Melia adults only. To help other travellers and hotel staff I will summarize my review in prons and cons. PROS: First of all I must say the number one asset of this resort is staff. Everyone from reception to restauran staff, drivers, housekeeping were super friendly, helpful, always smiling. Some language barrier exists but usually this is not with front facin staff. I wish I could remember all the names and say one big thank you to everyone. Moises and Nathanael from Mar de Sal were amazing, we went to few dinners there, always smiling, fast and excellent service. Manager (I assume) approached us to check how we were and if everything is in order. Special thanks to bartender Jairo as well, from the Elixy bar. There was always a cocktail stand in the evening with some special cocktails made by Jairo. Highly recommend to stop here before dinner! Second, premises are beatiful. There is long strech of beautiful green area, mangroves, palms ponds, with ducks peacocks and turtles. Everything is kept nice and tidy and there is always someone taking care of greenery. Please do not let the comments from other travellers discourage you. It is a 10 min walk from lobby/restaurants to the beach area. And it is a beautiful walk. We walked every day and enjoyed the scenery. If you are not a walking type golf carts go up and down quite regularly. Third, food at a la carte restaurants was very nice. There is mediteranen restaurant Mar de Sal, vietnamese restaurant Muoi and tropical restauran Calithea. All serve great food. You need to have a reservation if you want to have dinner there. Fourth, beach area is also very nice. A lot of sunbeds. Please reserve your seat in the morning as the good spots tend to be taken early in the morning. Fifth, there is always some sort of entertainment in the evening, which is nice, since you do not leave the resort. CONS: Rooms need a bit of refurbishing. Especially the bathroom area. Although everything is kept neat and tidy, ‘old’ vibe is still there. Drink choices were horrible. You can only get house drinks and one type of wine. Everything else is being charged. As we drink certain things and are very picky with our drink selection we were quite disappinted and were not expecting this. Last resort we went to offered more drink choices for regular (not level and similar) guests. Everything is being served in plastic glasses or paper cups which can kill the pleasure of having a nice drink. Lunch buffet was okayish, would prefer to have a small barbecue on the beach or something like that. There are options in the buffet but food is quite mediocre.
