A great beach- a beautiful huge pool- free snorkeling and catamaran- and delicious food- who wouldn’t want to book here??

ElizabethM59 (Atlanta, Georgia) on May 09, 2024

This place is wonderful! If you want a relaxing trip or a trip filled with activities- you can find both experiences here! We stayed 1 week at seaside suites (emerald 2-story villas) in room 1001. Our butlers, Arturo, Azael, Julian, and Ana were amazing! We miss you guys and look forward to seeing you again soon! The room itself is gorgeous- right on the beach. The beach water is very rocky on the seaside side, so if you want to snorkel or walk the white sand, go over to the palms side (a 5 to 10 minute walk). Tips from our experience: - All the restaurants were delicious with the exception of gourmet pub. It wasn’t bad, but it was sub-par compared to the other restaurants. The beachfront dinner was delicious and the steak at Mia casa was AMAZING! Driftwood was our favorite place to eat for lunch or for a mid-morning snack. Be sure to get the made-to-order ceviche and the ice cream! And say hi to Ana! She is so sweet and makes yummy shots! - We got room service for breakfast 3 times while we were there. It was DELICIOUS and always on time (even early!). - Be sure to take plenty of $1 bills. Tips go a long way in Mexico. The employees work incredibly hard and are very appreciative of the extra money. - Be sure to ask your personal concierge for reservations. People without reservations often had to wait 1-2 hours to be seated at dinner. With reservations, you will have zero problems. - take advantage of the new “more inclusive” program. We went snorkeling at maroma on an 80 person catamaran. And you get the included “brunch” at cocotales at maroma. It had over 10 stations of AMAZING food. This is all included for anyone staying on property so make sure you sign up with Lomas at the front lobby. It’s worth it! Marco, Ingrid, and Guillermo were great at helping us plan our excursions! We also paid extra for wave runners and deep sea fishing. Both excursions were out of maroma marina and were AWESOME! - If you are a beach person, stay on the palms side. If you like the concept of the huge pool on the bottom level (leading to the swim up bar) OR like the concept of the building long pools outside your door, seaside is where you want to be. - We spoke to people who stayed on all levels of the seaside building. In beginning of May when we were there, the ground floor pool temp is great . The people we spoke to on levels 2-5 said it was too cold. The people on the top level said it was chilly at night, but the water temp was perfect during the day time bc it gets direct sunlight. Keep this in mind as you pick your room category. - We read review after review of seaside being a party scene. That was rarely the case while we were there. The bottom floor was basically dead and so relaxing until about 1:30 pm each day. From 1:30-6, it would get more active with bingo, black jack, and volleyball, but it only got “wild” 1 afternoon while we were there. It always depends on who all is there and time of year, but our experience was that it was chill for the most part. We loved the combination of the chill with a little bit of party. - The map of the resort looks HUGE. Though it is a nice size resort, it isn’t as big as it looks. I could easily walk from one end of palms to the other end of seaside suites in under 10 minutes. - The spa is beautiful! Bring your bathing suit to use the hydrotherapy room. Be sure to ask for Gabriela for your massage! Thank you for a wonderful spa day! - We enjoyed the new orange juice machine and the new nespresso machine at the seaside marketplace. And the woman outside of the restaurant who makes fresh tacos is WONDERFUL! - Everyone at this resort is so nice- from the butlers to the waiters to the grounds keepers- I am already missing all of the morning holas! - The gym has currently been relocated in the seaside suites but still has enough weights and treadmills to be worthwhile. - You can make this as relaxing or as active of a trip as you want. The app shows you what is going on and you make the choice of how much to participate. But I HIGHLY recommend the silent disco party. It was A BLAST! - We are members of the exotic/lomas club, but I can honestly say that members AND non-members were treated incredibly well. At least half the people I met were not members and were having a phenomenal time. And the members we spoke to come to this resort over and over again- not just because of the membership, but because it’s that great of a place! If you are on the fence about this place, don’t be. We are already planning our trip for next year to go back! See you soon, Seaside Suites!

Cute to look at but frustrating

MonicoleAZ (Apache Junction, Arizona) on May 08, 2024

Let’s start with the positive. The resort is beautiful. We got a room on the main floor where you can float from your room to the main bar. You have a view of the ocean and can feel the warm breeze. It’s not too busy and it’s adults only so you don’t have kiddos running around. The room fridge is stocked with Pilsner beer and soda. The room was clean and omg that shower and jetted tub were to die for. There are a couple protected areas where there is shallow snorkeling and the white sand beach at the end is flawless. The staff at the main pool bar were fun and energetic and the cabanas were so comfortable. We dozed off on one a couple times. Then the issues start. The directions are not clear regarding your airport transport and it’s very disorganized. We watched several groups who arrived after us leave before us. You’ll be assigned a concierge at arrival. We were assigned Ingrid with contact info for the WhatsApp. We attempted multiple times but never got a response. I’m starting to think Ingrid didn’t exist. When you get to the hotel they don’t tell you to book all your reservations for food immediately. I missed out on a nice dinner for my bday. The information is inconsistent as well. It’s not clear when restaurants are actually open and the info conflicts with the app. You can easily find yourself walking to a place that should be open to find it’s not. They advertise these great included excursions but fail to mention you have to leave the resort for the entire day to do them. The sunset catamaran wasn’t at sunset either. It’s at 9 am or 1 pm. I didn’t want to be stuck at that locations from 7:30 am - 5 pm just for one 3 hour cruise so we missed out on that as well. The shuttle home was the final thing that convinced me I’d never return. Our shuttle was scheduled for 11:15. I was told this was to make time for additional pick up’s that never happened. We were at the airport around 12:15 and our flight wasn’t until 5 pm. There’s literally NO reason we needed to be dropped off 5 hours prior to our flight. We were so early we couldn’t even check our bags. Thankfully there was a Starbucks where we found seats until it was time. In the end it was a weekend getaway and a learning experience. I wouldn’t go back to this particular property just because of the frustration with the lack of adequate information & shuttle time.

Lovely Resort, Would Recommend

JeJCheshire (Menigoute, France) on May 03, 2024

My husband and I stayed at El Dorado Suites in April, travelling from Gatwick with TUI. We have been to Mexico all inclusive many times and found this resort to be very good, although a little confusing when you first arrive. Also I would add that from May 2024 I understand that the Asian restaurant (which is excellent) and the Mezcalito Bar (also excellent) are not part of the all inclusive package which is a shame. Firstly this is really 3 hotels on one complex. Seaside Palms, which is where we stayed and in my opinion the nicest part of the resort, Seaside Suites and the Hidden Beach (which is hidden as its a nudist resort and I cant comment on that part as didn't use it :-). The resort is therefore large but easily walkable. The hotel also provides shuttles between areas for those who don't fancy the walk. TUI also do a daily orientation walking tour, which was really interesting and I would strongly advise at the start of your holiday. Our room was spacious and spotless with a small balcony and a lovely sea view. The décor was a little tired, however housekeeping do a great job. The staff were great, couldn't do enough for you and the food and service was generally excellent. The wine was even good which isn't always the case in Mexico. With the exception of 2 of the restaurants you don't have to book which is also great. Although advertised by TUI as having 5 swimming pools, whist technically true, its a little misleading. There is one large pool at the Suites side and 4 on Palms side. Out of the 4 on Palms side, 1 is for Premium guests only and one is a bit useless unless you are staying in the swim up suites. The other 2 pools are great, one has a swim-up bar, both are well maintained. There is also waiter service around the pools and on the beach. Whilst located on the beach the sea is not accessible in some places. It was also very rough whilst we were there although the hotel has created a kind of lagoon area so guests could still go in the sea. There is no messing about at this resort with cards for towels, which are easily accessible, the downside being some guests reserved both sun loungers and bali beds all day, fine while the resort is quiet but I can imagine it being a bit of an issue if the hotel was full. Overall this is a lovely chilled hotel and whilst adults only definitely not a party resort.

Loved the activities that were available daily! We played black jack, bingo, and shot targets with a pellet rifle! Miriam was amazing! She remembered us by name and became an excellent resource for us to find out about other activities! She was very friendly and made every days activities friendly and enjoyable!!
