    We went to BlueBay Grand Esmeralda beginning of this month and we had a blast , very nice people there and lots to do . For breakfast and lunch we would go to the buffet , there we met Juan and Miriam , they served us they were hard workers and very friendly made us feel like V.I.P’s . I recommend going to Xel-Ha and Chichenitza get the double package for that one and check out Cenote Maya.

    Bad RCI concierge and Terrible Concierge manager.

    We were literally refused exit from the resort to go on excursion. The concierges LIED to us, and prevented our leaving the property, and refusing entry to the bus to come pick us up. We were literally treated like prisoners!

    I booked this vacation with my family so I could fulfill some things on my bucket list as I've been given a year to live, This resort looked like a very inviting place from the pictures....... well they must have taken those pictures from another resort!! First off....NO lobby bar, NO smoking (which we were not told and my partner smokes) and absolutely no muscle shirts in the restaurants...... Its not stated that you cannot wear these shirts in the ad and that's all my partner brought down...So first stop, we had to buy over priced shirts just so he would be able to eat. We waited over 3 hours after arriving to the resort to finally get our room keys. Excited to start the vacation. Off to the room, open the door and there are a bunch of towels sitting in the middle of the floor. I thought that maybe its because the floor was still wet from them just cleaning it......nope, the air conditioner was leaking all over and the towels were there to try to soak up the water. Not knowing that the floor was that wet, I slipped on the water, fell and hit my head, shoulder , arm and knee. Now I was mad!! Off I go to the front desk and let them know that I injured myself in the room because of the water on the floor. The guy at the costumer service desk said there was nothing they could do for me. You would think after I injured myself they would at least upgrade the room. I was sent back and made to move all our luggage to the new room. Opened the door to that room and the stench of fresh paint hit us like a ton of bricks. We had to keep both the main door and he patio door wide open, but one problem....there are no screens on the patio doors.. thought that we would grab a drink from the mini fridge.....empty..... and the fridge was warm. I was told that they only stock the fridges every other day but we hadn't been there more than 3 hours.....they brought some water up the next day finally. But the fridge still wasn't working....went back to the desk and they said someone would be up to fix it.....2 days later after going to the desk and asking we finally got a fridge that worked. If you are shy I suggest that you put out the do not disturb sign out because the maids come around at 0800 hours, knock once and then in the come... they caught me with no clothes on which was very embarrassing to say the least. When bringing our concerns to our travel representative from Air Transit he ensured me that he would make things right...He did nothing!! All he was interested in was selling his excursions and texting on his phone. The main pool was closed along with the bar, which we didn't know about when we booked. The pools that were open were missing tiles, there was garbage floating in it and we seen the poolside server maybe twice the whole week. I will never return to this resort and will let everyone know how you treat people that get hurt on your resort

    BlueBay has always been excellent, but the updates have made it even better. I love the customized attention, and friendliness of everyone. The food is wonderful whether you go to the buffet or individual restaurants. I love the quiet atmosphere and the wildlife (coati and iguana). The photographers are also wonderful and try to take photos you are happy with and that you will want to take home. It is relaxing eery time.

    Have had a fantastic week here! Beautiful grounds and restaurants, staff absolutely amazing! Shout outs to: Wagner and Miguel at Black and White, Plus Eddie behind the bar at black and white and his impeccable service at the Italian restaurant. Juan and Miriam were also amazing at the beach buffet, again, impeccable service. Marcos at concierge desk great too. The staff are amazing, and go out of their way to ensure you have a fantastic time. The food was superb! Buffets were great and specialty restaurants were great. I could go on but you get the picture!
