Great family experience in Kaanapali.

Great service all around. Lucked out with an early check-in. The location being right on Black Rock Beach is so cool. We've never been able to see turtles swim so close to shore and have them swim around us while snorkeling. We even were greeted with a special welcome package for our kids as we were celebrating their birthdays. Really went above and beyond to make us feel special. The game room was a hit with the kids, and the breakfast buffet was high quality. The pools could've been a little warmer, but the lazy river was still enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone considering a stay in Kaanapali.
Sadly, Not what it used to be

This hotel, has the best location, however it seems neglected and the rooms are very run down. Pros: Location, location location! Cons: Run down rooms with dirty carpets, cockroaches which I have not seen on previous trips, beat up furniture (beds were comfy, however) Staff was rude - especially front desk staff. Did not have one positive interaction with any of the staff there. Wait staff in the restaurants overall very good. Way OVERPRICED for the quality of the room. Badly in need of upgrade. So sad to see.
Save your money and find a better hotel.

Overpriced for hotel room, cleanliness, and staff vibe. Will not stay again. Country music at the bar, staff hustled you out of chairs and even room. Hotel was not full. Dining plate in the foliage and cups and towels strewn all over pool area. Again not due to busy staff. Good part was pool itself, yoga, and location. I’ll pass on coming back as the “partial” ocean view looked over tennis courts and parking lot.
Great location, dated rooms

Can’t beat the location on Kaanapali beach and a short walk from restaurants and shopping. Gorgeous view of black rock and you great snorkeling with a short walk from the room. Rooms are dated. The rooms with two beds are full size, not queen and very soft/well worn.
Whales, whales, and more whales

This hotel had one spectacular feature that eludes the other Kaanapali hotels- elevation over black rock. This provides a panoramic vista of this area of Maui- excellent for spotting whales, seals, spinner dolphins, turtles, and sunsets. Very clean and beautifully groomed grounds, friendly staff, great food and drinks.
