Community areas of the hotel were clean and smelled good. The rooms are aged and outdated. Decent size for NYC rooms but the furniture, walls and carpet had a lot of wear and tear with some tips on the wall, stains on furniture, rust in bathroom in the shower, ripped shower curtain and water damage ceiling in bathroom. If this hotel goes through a few clean / refresh on the rooms it will be a great stay. Until then it is below average for a Hilton property.

An incredible experience! Terrible check in, terrible attitude by front desk, extremely understaffed in front desk, extremely slow check out, room was not made until 7 pm, bathroom was not working well, Heat was extremely high that we had to have the window open all night... And all of this being a Diamond member of Hilton and staying at the “Hilton Honors Floor”... I have been to dozens of Hilton’s worldwide, and this has been the worse by far! Shouldn’t have the Hilton brand at all!

    Disappointing

Check in and check out extremely slow with staff not interested in anything other than taking the money. Reception staff were disengaged and not interested whatsoever. Bar staff didn't want to serve despite it being empty. Rooms were hot with no way of turning the temperature down. Nothing good to say about this hotel other than its location.

First time in NYC, was excited to come, however my experience here wasn’t great. Tub was stopped up, every time I took a shower the water wasn't going down. HOW NASTY. Ended up calling for maintenance after I couldn’t take it anymore & the man said someone’s hair was the reason for it being stopped up ?? The “heat” was more of warmish. That was so disappointing since NYC was freezing. They had my room near the supply area so every morning I hear a bunch of loud noises . The only thing I loved here was how nice the staff was.

No AC and heat was stuck on.

This hotel is listed as having air-conditioning on the Hilton website. However, my room did not have air-conditioning. Furthermore, the heat was stuck on high and it took two trips by the maintenance person to get the heat to stay off and the fan to stay on. The suggestion was to leave the window open. I asked him if this was how it was in all the rooms and he said yes. My room was designed for wheelchair access, which is fine, normally. However, the closet in this room was so small that I could not hang my jacket up in it without it being crumpled on the bottom of the closet floor. The mattress was lumpy. My colleagues stayed at the Hilton Midtown and didn’t have any of these problems. I do not recommend staying at the Doubletree.
