check in was fine. told we had an awesome room for our 2 week stay. seventh floor overlooking pool. unfortunately a banging gate below our room giving constant irritation ( fixed after 4 days) accompanied by jack-hammer from construction work daily between 9-5. woken up at 2 am by noise from drunks below. next night kept awake till 2 am by noise from the bar below. moved room to the west tower facing the small pool. small pool shut till eleven a.m one morning then midday, then all day (did open about 6pm). next day the delightful sounds of hedgecutters around the pool. next day the mulch gang were in with stereo leaf blowers. not once did management inform anyone of the works being carried out or apologies for the noise or inconvenience. the only saving grace was mr.mnick on the front desk who arranged us a late check out. this no longer a family hotel unless you can avoid the conventions

First impression - when I checked into my room, half of my room was cleaned. Not kidding...the bathroom had used towels on the floor and the sink, a wet bath mat on the floor, old soap in the shower and a dirty robe hanging over the bathroom door. Let’s not forget the wet, used washcloth in the shower! I called the front desk to complain. It was unfortunate because I traveled for quite a few hours to get there and had limited time to get ready for a work function and wasn’t willing to use the dirty accommodations to get ready. However, somebody in housekeeping visited my room for an inspection. The lady agreed the bathroom was never cleaned and said she would send housekeeping in immediately and would notify management to accommodate for the inconvenience. The bathroom was eventually cleaned, but nobody from management contacted me to address the problem. As a titanium elite member with Marriott, I was truly disgusted. Believe me when I say I spent a lot of money in my 5 days at the hotel. At the very least, management owed me an apology. I showed up looking disheveled for a meeting because I refused to use the extremely dirty bathroom comprised of dirty towels and wash clothes. Aside from that issue, the facility is amazing. Beautiful property and nice employees. It’s a total shame my first day was terrible.

Just finished spending four days here for the HDA Truckpride conference. Huge place with anything you could possibly want. Great meeting and conference facilities. Lots of food choices including several reasonably priced options. Plenty of pool space to go around. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the resort but with a couple hiccups!

We recently stayed at the WCM April 2-8. I had researched the surrounding resorts and found a good deal for the WCM. I chose the WCM because of the pool and proximity to Disney. The resort is extremely large. Found out it's the largest Marriott built. For that reason, I requested a centrally located room with a pool view if possible. If we had a room far from everything, the review would be much more negative. Check-In: Greeted by Kim. She was very friendly. She accommodated our request and placed us "pool view" on the 8th floor. With that, we gave up 2 queens for 1 king, a couch and a promise of milk/cookies for our young one. There was 3 of us. I appreciated the view but we did have to wait until 5:30 pm before it was ready and sadly, no milk and cookies. Room: 20-820 As many others have stated, the rooms are a little dated. They do have a large flat screen television. Everything else is in need of an update. There's a desk but not much of a work station. The bathroom is a very tight squeeze. The bed is acceptable. Our view was perfect. There is an issue with the A/C. It struggled to keep the room cooled. Although the thermostat stated 65 degrees, it was more like 70-75 degrees. We had to make a couple of requests for a luggage stand. There was also a missed day of housekeeping and never any turndown service that should be included. Pool/resort grounds: Absolutely beautiful. Plenty of chairs, although there were a good many people placing towels on the chairs at 8 am only to return later on in the morning. Ridiculousness. There was a nice jacuzzi that was generally full of unsupervised children. They have 3 neat water slides that can be enjoyed by kids and adults. Another great perk is the free water bottles placed in barrels around the pool. Attention to detail has been made but a few things in this price range I think need to be changed. Pool chairs should have padding. A few more menu choices poolside. Have advertised specials or happy hours, etc. Restaurants: We had poolside service the days we took a break from the parks. The food was very good and somewhat reasonable for a resort. Portions were large. ****The employees in the Central Pantry were extremely nice. Chef Fritz really stood out. He was very helpful and always willing to go the extra step to make sure we were pleased. Marriott has a very valuable employee with FRITZ. We didn't try the other restaurants on site. Room service only has a $5 delivery charge which is reasonable. The only disclaimer is it's not a gratuity. Disney Transportation: Included but not without inconveniences. You have to reserve your pick up the day before and are given vouchers. One bus takes you in order- Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Magic Kingdom. A separate bus takes you to Hollywood Studios. You could very likely be on the bus for 30 minutes - 1 hour before making your final destination. We found that to be an inconvenience and opted to take Uber/Lift for our returns. Pick up times would vary due to whatever delays the 1 bus encountered. I say that because you'll be doing enough line waiting when you get to the parks. Marriott needs to rethink its Disney transportation. Additionally, if there is a convention going on "there was always a convention", you'll have to walk toward the convention entrance to catch the bus as the motor lobby is quite active. It's a little walk. Bus drivers not overly friendly. In conclusion, IMO the WCM is an expensive choice for a resort hotel. It's competitive with the Hyatt Grand Cypress, Gaylor Palms, etc. The resort is aesthetically beautiful. Interior needs a little work. If you're looking for a "Disney experience", the WCM hits on a few points and misses on others. It's neat that they have a light show that's synced with music. It begins at 9 pm and lasts about 15 minutes. I don't understand the complaints about it being loud. It's not. WCM tries to balance being a corporate convention hotel with amenities to entice families looking for the Disney experience or both. If it's just a Disney experience you're looking for, I'd opt to stay at one of the Disney hotels. More convenient park transportation alone is reason enough. Again, this is not a cheap hotel. They add a $30 per night resort fee plus tax. If you park, that's extra too. Most resorts have the same fees but something to keep in mind when doing cost comparisons. A final note........ All the employees we encountered at the WCM were very nice. Some really stood out. The employees, pool, and food would make this place a "good but not great" choice for a "higher priced" resort. Safe travels to all.

First, this place is monstrous. To get from your room to anything is a long walk. Second, they play loud music at the pool from 9 am utilized 11 pm, which if your room overlooks the pool can be a major problem. As I write this, all I want to do is relax after a long day and I can’t, why because there is some kind of dance party, with light show, going on at the pool that is so loud I can’t even here my TV in my room, and I’m 10 stories up.
