Another Great Stay!

lscottatl (atlanta, ga) on May 02, 2024

Always a great time at this hotel. Service at the restaurants was always amazing. Daily cocktails at dinner and lunch kept things interesting. Clean and great views of the ocean. Great, safe hotel for solo travelers who want to relax and not be too busy. Excursions were booked through the hotel and were affordable

Just don't go...

farouka819 on May 01, 2024

Don't go. There are these wild animals called Coatis EVERYWHERE. They come into the buffet, climb onto tables, steal your food and then take a pee under the table. And the staff do nothing! There is no flushing allowed in the toilets - meaning you wipe and leave used toilet paper in your trash bin, which is open. Gross and completely unhygienic. Staff are nice but overwhelmed so don't expect to get cutlery or even a cup of coffee for at least 20 minutes after you ask for it. Food is subpar in the buffets, restaurants are booked and even in restaurants the "sides" are all from the buffet. Go to another resort.

Bahía Príncipe Tulúm

136grahamd (Worksop, United Kingdom) on May 01, 2024

Well I’ve been to Bahías around the world over 20 times and Tulum in Mexico twice. It was OK this time not the awesome place it once was, staff are really friendly especially Annabelle and Josephine in the Lobby and so very helpful and friendly, but it isn’t without its problems it’s ready for a large scale renovation things in places are showing signs of age. As Gold loyalty member I found it disappointing that I actually had to ask for the Gold wristbands and not offered these when we checked. There seemed to be a shortage of staff particularly at busy times in the Restaurants. There were a large number of weddings these were a further drain on staff leaving the rest of the hotel further under staffed. The old days of Bahia Principes around the world where guests came first are gone with the free bath robes and welcoming fruit baskets have gone. Would I visit Tulúm or other Bahía hotels? Maybe but it’s not the nailed on certainty it once was

Yearly Trek

Cheryl B (Port Coquitlam, Canada) on Apr 29, 2024

Our visit to this amazing place was once again fantastic! We have been going here yearly for 8 years (Covid years excluded). We love this resort as we feel in our comfort zone knowing what to expect and how to get around. The staff are amazingly hard workers from reception, housekeeping wait staff and entertainment staff. We would like to give a special shout out to Abi and Adrien at the yucatan restaurant. We ate out on the veranda daily for breakfast and lunch and enjoyed their welcoming and attentive service. They made.us feel special with their above and beyond care. Thank you Abi and Adrien - see you next year! Both Jabir and Annabell at the lobby bar were awesome as well. Thank you for remembering my favourite drink Melon Maya. Both were very friendly and fun! All staff we encountered were fun, friendly as well. Thank you Bahía Tulum for another amazing experience. Already can’t wait until April 2025!

Stunning property but don't be fooled

Terri R on Apr 29, 2024

I had very high expectations but unfortunately they fell short. This is our fourth All Inclusive we've been to in Mexico and its maybe #3 on the list. Was very underwhelmed. I admit I've travelled a lot and have stayed at some fantastic resorts so I wanted to keep an open mind Grounds are spectacular and most common areas are updated and beautiful. Loved the iguanas and coati and other wildlife. Most staff are fantastic. Entertainment staff work so hard to ensure people are enjoying themselves. Grounds crew, room attendants and restaurant staff were so welcoming and friendly. Reception staff need more focus on efficiency and friendliness. Resort was no where near full capacity however Thursday, Friday and Saturday were extremely busy and lots of rude pushy patrons Continually trying to upsell timeshare, rooms, services and events are a huge turn off however. Some evening shows, events, etc are an extra cost. Only 3 a la carte available for 7 day stay is not great. Availability of room service extra cost. No where to get late night food otherwise. Golf carts are available to get you through this large resort but often you are also getting run off path to avoid them if walking. Rooms are in various stages of update. The worst are in need of lots of TLC smelling like mildew and damp. Ants and bugs in the room. What they call Premium Superior is the weirdest bathroom set basically sink and vanity are right in front of you as you enter room. Open concept, see through shower and Water closet. We had to move midweek because we were very unhappy with room and it wasn't what we had booked. Food is average for a resort. Lots of variety but same offering throughout the week. Bars are inconsistent from watered down pool bar to very strong lobby bar. No top shelf liquors included. Nightlife was ok. Silent Disco was amazing, Salsa dancing really fun but other than that only options after 9pm were limited and the disco got a little messy with people from all 4 resorts able to join. Hotel charges extra environmental fee upon check in...about $25 US. Not entirely sure why or what this covers. Hard to justify environmental fee as well when they have dolphins in a tank on resort in captivity... Would I return here? No Would I perhaps try their Luxury level? Maybe But this was my first Bahia Principe resort and likely my last unfortunately..
