This was the best all inclusive resort we have ever stayed at. The food, the service, the drinks will all exceed your expectations. I wish I could describe in words how amazing this place is but yiy truly have to experience it for yourself to understand. We will definitely be back.

Had the best week at Secrets Maroma. They have the best beach and they kept it well manicured. We swam in the Caribbean every day. The food was excellent and they had a wonderful variety. The staff was so friendly and accommodated all our wants and needs.

    Best service we've ever experienced

This is a long overdue review. My wife and I stayed at Secrets Maroma in September for our honeymoon and loved every minute of our stay. For ease I will break it down by category: Room: We stayed in the preferred club swim out room. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the staff and given a cold towel to help with the heat. Our bags were then loaded on to a golf buggy and we were driven to the preferred club check-in desks. We were given sparkling wine and nibbles while we checked-in. When we arrived at our room we had a "honeymoon" sash which was a nice touch. The room is open plan and clean. The mini bar consisted of Diet Coke, Coke, fizzy orange, Corona and peanut M&Ms. These were restocked on a daily basis which was great because i loved my daily M&M fix after a few drinks. The swim-up pool was lovely but to be honest it was under-used because the hotel pool and beach was so quiet. I imagine in the peak months it would be a saving grace though! The bath and shower were huge and there was also a speaker from the TV in the bathroom so you could lie in the bath and watch TV! Food: I've only ever stayed at 1 other all inclusive resort and the food here absolute blew it out of the water. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a wide range of cuisines on rotation each day. It took us about a week to realise that as preferred club members we also get breakfast at the Oceana Grille. It was absolutely lovely! We didn't have a single bad meal at the hotel. Our favourites (in order) were: Japanese, French, Italian, Steakhouse and Mexican. Male guests must wear jeans/chinos/trousers if they want to sit inside to eat. Shorts are acceptable on the terrace but you'll likely get eaten alive by mosquitoes! Women can seemingly wear whatever they want which was a particular gripe of mine. Entertainment: This hotel puts so much effort in to keeping the guests entertained. Some of the activities include snorkelling, water polo, beach volleyball, pool/darts tournaments, yoga, tequila tasting and others. Staff are always wandering around the grounds trying to get more guests involved. There are a number of bars on-site and spent most of my time in the sports bar watching American football. The bar tenders were great. I tipped $10 on my first drink one evening and the barman was so happy he kept bringing me different shots and cocktails to try. Needless to say, getting out of bed the next day was a struggle. There is also an on-site 'nightclub' although it never had more than 20 people in it and closed at 1am. If i was to suggest 1 improvement it would be to lengthen the opening hours of the nightclub and the sports bar. Service: I can't say enough about the service... Every member of staff that we met (from the gardeners to the concierge) were polite and keen to please. Special shout out to Mario at the watersports centre, Marianne our concierge, Danny our scuba diving instructor and the life guard that let us look at the newly hatched turtles before they were released! Drinks: Guests were able to order any drinks that they like and we sampled as many cocktails as we could. Beer drinkers are sadly restricted to Modelo, Bud Light and Corona. If only more beers were on offer! We believe this trip was worth every penny and cannot wait to return. Thank you all so much!

I am issuing a warning to all potential visitors to this resort — once you’ve had first class, there is NO going back to coach! This resort, it’s great location, and amazing staff has ruined the possibility of me staying anywhere else on any future Caribbean vacation Mo! Food: I want to comment firstly on my experience with the food, as my wife and I purposely picked this resort for its promised ability to serve healthy options. My wife is a vegan with a gluten intolerance. She is very sensitive to what she eats. While there were plenty of gluten-free and vegan options already available, my wife cannot eat food cooked in certain oils, can’t have dairy or soy, and is aware of possible contamination of foods with gluten wheats. Paying a lot of money for an all-inclusive experience needs to have variety and a hassle-free environment. That is exactly what the staff offered. A few hours after our arrival, every chef and staff employee seemingly had been made aware of my wife’s food restrictions. While the layman ordered from a menu or ate from the buffet, my wife had her meals specially made for her. The chef and manager would speak with her each time to review what she would like and to ensure it met her needs. This is not to downplay the standard food prepared. I have no restrictions and I was fully satisfied with my experience at the grill, breakfast eatery, Japanese, Mexican, Seafood and Steak restaurants (we didn’t make it to the French or Italian restaurants). The facilities were clean and the setting was comfortable. The staff was attentive, quick and courteous. Staff: If your curious about the quality of the help at this resort, I urge you to read my notes in the food section. What they did for my wife was a concerted effort and was amazing. I really can’t put in to words how much effort it took to get every restaurant and every chef on board. They came to us, eager to plan the meals ahead. They made it painless and made us feel special. Just amazing. Aside from the restaurants, at no time did I ever feel like I was bothering anyone or waiting on help. The staff was quick to seek out visitors and to offer them whatever they needed. From the beach to the pools to the concierges to room service to the cleaning staff, service was thorough and quick. I have been all over the Caribbean, to many all-inclusive resorts. Given how busy these guys are, it is hard to provide quality service - quickly, but Secrets Maroma managed it perfectly! Facilities: I really won’t be able to give a good review here. My wife and I laid on the beach every day. We never left the resort. We didn’t try the gym or the spa either. Normally we do, but we were eager to do nothing, so we enjoyed five days of being lazy! No regrets what-so-ever!! I can note a feed things though, such as a sports-bar type area that has pool tables, tv’s and swing seats. Immediately outside is a ping-pong table in a shallow water area and other games. Just a really neat area I thought. Unique from my experiences. The resort is covered with things like this: hammocks, couple seats and swings, beds on the beach, swim-up bar, hot tubs, selfie stands, ...I can’t list everything but there is enough to make this resort stand out when compared to others. You won’t get bored. Entertainment: We partook in a few of the events/entertainment shows provided while here. They had poker in the lobby a few nights. I personally enjoyed that! There was a different show every night at the theatre. It’s not Vegas guys, but it’s free and really good in my opinion. Really well put together. On one night, they had a fire show with bbq buffet near the beach. So nice! One other thing that stood out to me. Like the poker nights, beach and pool games are obviously for first come first serve. No sign-up needed. The staff members that headed these events would walk in and seek out involvement. For a staff person to walk up and down the beach to put together a volley ball game was impressive to me. They don’t need to do that, but they did! Every day! Just great! Rooms: We didn’t get a top-end room. We got a standard room, but it was more than we could have needed. King bed, very large tub with jets, large shower, double sinks, an iPad that controlled the tv and room service. Nice furniture in the room and on the balcony to relax. Everything worked. My safe did have a breakdown a few days in, but I think we might have messed it up (oops). Either way, someone came to our room within ten minutes and had it fixed in another five! In closure: All together, our experience was super. You will pay a bit more than other resorts, but in my opinion it is well worth it. I wish I could name everyone that made our trip special. I understand that you are paying for them to make it special, but given how many times I’ve been disappointed in an experience, I was super happy to have such an amazing experience. We will definitely be going back!

We just visited for a business event. Everything was top notch. Service was above and beyond. No reasonable requests were not met. They look care of the business and personal equally well. Beautiful location. Well kept. Every bit of its 5 star rating and 5 diamond designation.
