Always an amazing time

I can not say enough about the amazing staff at the tamarijin all inclusive resort. The moment we checked in we had a bellman grab our luggage and drove us to our rooms. The drinks are phenomenal and so is the food! It was different than usual because of COVID but we felt so safe. They have hand sanitizing stations all around the resort with employees reminding you to sanitize before entering a restaurant or coming back from being off the resort. They checked our temperatures whenever we stepped back onto the resort. No matter what the ask was they staff was always smiling and so helpful. We will be back! thank you!!!
Disappointed

This only gets 3 stars purely based on the friendliness of the staff or it be a 2 stars. I appreciate it’s very quiet with lack of tourist but I still paid the same price for a holiday that is advertising all the restaurants to choose from. Thankfully you do have the sister hotel Divi to add to different places to eat but it was very frustrating daily to find most closed. The price should reflect this. The bedrooms are lovely as they’ve been updated, so mood lighting and smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Video on them if you have an account. Annoys me when cleaning knocks on the door so early tho. I’m on holiday and don’t want to get up at crack of dawn, so had to keep putting sign on door. Maids came back when I took it off tho. It’s called the friendly island for a reason and the people are exceptionally lovely. I decided to stay longer on the island as UK locked down for the third time and the staff were really helpful in suggesting apartments etc. As like most places in this environment the staff hours have been cut as have their wages so they are very reliant on tips. Us Brits are not used to tipping (sorry Arubians) My only complaint about staff was from the Divi when I ate at the Red Parrot, it’s supposed to be fine dining. It’s far from it. Very basic menu and the staff stood around chatting more than keeping an eye on tables. Several times I had to grab attention to be served. Tamarjin staff were a lot more attentive. I paid a lot of money for 2 weeks all inclusive but I don’t feel I got the holiday I booked for the price. There is no room service and no soft drinks in the fridge. You have to get a shuttle everywhere if you are in the end block (it’s a nice walk to the hotel part but when it’s hot it’s uncomfortable). Shuttle service ends at 11pm although the security staff will take over after that time to help out. The security were lovely, especially Delroy, always chatted and made sure everything was ok. Would I return to this hotel? No. Basically there are such lovely apartments about that I would just get a flight and rent one of those next time but I would definitely come back, I’ve loved the consistent temperature of 28 degrees. Most days it’s over cast abs that’s just how I like it
WE LOVED IT ??

Amazing place to stay even during a worldwide pandemic we had the best time. Although it was not busy as it would’ve been considering the circumstances, there was enough people and staff on the resort to not feel secluded. Check in was delightful, we were advised to take our temperature and sanitise our hands before heading to the check in desk. The check in service was straight forward and friendly. We were given a company tote bags with two reusable water bottles, our room keys and a Porter and caddy cart we’re waiting to take us to our room. Our room was on the beach front and newly refurbished, we were hidden away at the end of the resort, room 2512, it was on the second floor quite & peaceful mostly. Personally I found the bed mattress to be hard for my taste but my fiancé didn’t mind it. They had flat screen wall mounted TV’s with Netflix & prime video which you could log in to! They had a great mood lighting feature built in so you could change the colour surrounding the headboard. We had a mini fridge unfortunately there was nothing in it, no water or nothing after a long flight. Shower room wasn’t perfect tiling and grouting wasn’t particularly clean but not filthy. Towels were changed daily if you so wished and beach towels were given at a different area once you give them your used ones. Balcony was good enough space for us both to watch the sunset. Beach outside of our room was lovely although VERY VERY ROCKY until you get deeper in then it’s Sandy. The only other issue we had was that the hotel had maintenance work on the beach they had tractors digging and going up and down the beach, one night even up until 11pm (I did call reception to complain, the apologised but work did not stop immediately) The walk to breakfast, lunch & dinner was beautiful, the have a board walk for a more scenic route or you can walk behind the building choice is yours. Alternatively you can call for a pick up caddy they’ll come for you usually within 5 minutes and drop you to the front of the resort (our room was about 6-10 minutes walk) the caddy carts were amazing they even took you over to the Divi if you wanted too. Food was great: Breakfast: 8/10 - loads of variety: eggs any way you want them, sausages, bacon (I found it very over cooked) pancakes, french toast, waffles, fruit, yogurt, bread, jams, butter, smoothies, juices, pastries. Lunch/dinner: 8/10 chicken wings, chips, burgers, sushi, wraps, prawns Snack bars: 9/10 pizzas, chips/crisp, pasta, hotdogs Bars: 8/10 Bunker bar was our favourite it wasn’t too big but the staff and drinks were delightful. Not top shelf liquors but drinks had just enough strength to have you feeling good. There was 1 other bar opened on the tamarijn side which was near the lobby, this is were we got our pizza’s. The other bar we enjoyed was the sandpiper located on the Divi side of the beach (this beach is not rocky like the ones outside of our room) we spent most of our days here) the sandpiper was great lots of food selection and you could order drinks that weren’t on the menu. Hotdogs were lovely here. The main bar at the divi was quite busy we only visited here at dinner times. But the drink consistency around all bars seemed to be the same. Gym: great facilities, modern equipment & brilliant view. 1 pool: 8/10 nicely kept we didn’t use it the beach was far more superior. Divi: 9/10 had all the entertainment in the day and evenings we went over there mostly but sometimes stayed put but not much going on at the Tamarijin side. The Divi is the only place that had a shop opened to buy essentials. Restaurants: Palm Grill: 10/10 We visited the palm grill on our second night it was beautiful and we got to cook our own food on the table, the staff were friendly and attentive to all our needs they always had a smile on their faces. Starters we had a chicken consume/broth which was tasty We ordered prawns and pork which we cooked accompanied by Fries & Rice which they prepared. Dessert we had a chocolate mousse. All good and tasty food. Ginger: 11/10 Asian cuisine. I can’t rate this place more highly the food was delicious the ambiance was romantic and it felt buzzing with people. For starters we had shrimp tempura and Spring rolls I absolutely loved them. For mains we had a seafood soup ???????? it was so good I recreated it when I got home. We were so full we didn’t have dessert ??. Great attentive staff. Mexican restaurant at Divi: 7/10 we had a very late booking 9pm so we had a late lunch we didn’t eat much, I had a Mexican pork soup which was great and nicely flavoured, we then shared chicken fajitas also nice. The restaurant wasn’t too busy at that time our waiters were lovely and attentive no complaints, just didn’t get to enjoy it that much as we went too late. Staff: not one bad thing to say about any of them, they’re ALL very welcoming loved them! Wish I could remember names ?? We loved this place I’m sure once I’ve finished this review I’d have so much more to say about it. I have so much videos thinking I could upload them but I can’t do disappointed ?? Glad we picked Tamarijn over the Riu hotels Thank you for having us ?? we will be back.
Our favorite

While we were not expecting the construction or lack of beach, this was our 3rd trip to the Tamarijn and it will always be our favorite. Not many places in the world where you can open your sliding glass door and be on the white sand beach overlooking beautiful turquoise water. The staff were all amazing. Food and drinks were very good. We had an issue with our room the first night and the hotel more than made up for it. They even sent my daughter a generous birthday gift to the room for her 8th birthday! Also on her birthday, we had reservations at Pure Lime and they brought her out a full size cake with a sparkler type candle and the staff sang to her and cut the cake. Much needed escape from the "real world" and this was the absolute perfect getaway. We cannot wait to go back.
Perfect place to relax, sun, and hang with family!

My family just returned from our 6 night stay at the Tamarijn. We were very happy with our renovated rooms and perfect location...down a flight of stairs and BAM! you are on a beautiful beach with plenty of palapas and chairs for everyone. Because the resort is still under renovation it was not overcrowded at all and we enjoyed being able to grab lounge chairs wherever and whenever we wanted. The food was excellent; we ate at the Palm Grill (fun and plentiful!), Red Parrot (beautiful), Paparazzi (great food), and hung with Jhon, Bernadette, and Minna at the bar who took excellent care of us (Bernadette--we owe you a lighter!). We splurged on a wonderful 3 course meal at Windows for Christmas evening; the service was impeccable. Everyone who worked at the resort was friendly and went out of their way to provide a level of service that you do not get anywhere else. They were thanking US for coming...we were thanking them for letting us! Because of COVID there is very little in the way of entertainment or activities (even though it's on their app schedule) but I'm sure that will change in 2021. We truly enjoyed our first family vacation in years; it was worth every penny. Can't wait to come back!
