My husband and I had the pleasure of a week at this great resort. I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff. Felt like they truly cared and they did whatever they could to make us feel welcome and well taken care of. Housekeeping , pool side staff , bell staff and maintenance always had a warm smile and went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy. From little things like happily providing a mask when we forgot ours in public spaces to providing extra towels and coffee for our room and bringing us warm dry towels and cold water unprompted by the pool. And the front desk staff and management were fantastic. Even though we were using points they made sure we had a great room and were super friendly and helpful. And oh what a great room it was. Nothing fancy as it is a Marriott not a ritz but it was large and bright and clean and comfortable. They happily supplied a kettle for my morning tea and the room had a great Nespresso machine. An open mini bar fridge that was actually cold to stock for snacks ( much better than a fridge filled with overpriced pop ). And the most fantastic deck literally steps from the ocean. The resort has the best sunset location in all of wailea and the pools ( both adult pool and family pool ) are beautiful and perfectly situated. They even have an awesome water slide that was so much fun. We have stayed in wailea a number of times at the big name resorts and honestly this was by far the best location. Best pool and best staff. Lots of open green space for yoga or kids to play. Great for couples or families. Only small issue is with breakfast coupons for Bonvoy elite at Starbucks that didn’t cover the cost of an egg sandwich only coffee snd a pastry. I hate to even mention that as it was a small thing but Bonvoy can do better on that. And parking was expensive ( typical for wailea ) . But overall I have to say Marriott wailea beach resort is a great place that does a great job. The most beautiful location with the most beautiful pools and views from most of the rooms. And the most friendly and helpful staff. And did I mention the fantastic location and amazing sunset views ?!

We just returned from an amazing family vacation to Maui. While much of Maui is still coming back to life, the Marriott seemed to be ahead of other properties from what we could tell, as the restaurants, spa, fitness center, game room, and all pools (and waterslides!) where open. You can tell it wasn't a rushed opening, but rather a very thoughtful approach to handling covid while still enabling guest experiences. The staff were incredibly personal, but not in a robotic & insincere way. We could tell they really were happy to have guests back on the property. The pool staff were amazingly friendly and genuine while providing great service. I have to say, I hope the pool chair system they have stays in place after Covid...we never had an issue getting chairs via the online reservation system and didn't have to worry about those people that get up at 6am and lay magazines on some prime chairs but don't come back until after noon! Oh, and I'd be remiss not to mention the frozen Mai Tai's...just delicious! We had breakfast every morning at the Starbucks onsite but there are two restaurants as well. Humble Market Kitchen serves up delicious food from Roy Yamaguchi, while the casual pool restaurant Kapa Bar & Grill has more casual fare...both delicious. The Mo Bettah food truck was the only thing not quite open yet however they said it was in the works and opening very soon. We tried all the pools while we were there. Our favorite (for the four of us anyway) was the family pool (Ohi) closest to the ocean. It was pretty chill for being a family pool and I think that is because all the "younger energy" going on at the Nalu Adventure pool where some crazy fun waterslides reside. We found it better to make home base over at Ohi and just take little adventures over to the slides. My wife and I did book chairs one of the days at the adult pool and it was *amazing*...if you don't have kids, that's definitely the place to be, especially at sunset!! Wow!! I'd also recommend doing the "all you can eat" beach activities which cost $109 for 4 days or $139 for 7 days. You can trade out between snorkel gear, paddle boards, and boogie boards as much as you like. We did two for the four of us. This time of year, you can literally paddle board out to where whales are hanging out (I did, and a whale came within ~20-30 feet of me!). We also did a sunset "champagne" cruise on what ended up being the only rainy day...go figure, right!? Well, we almost just didn't go and I'm so glad we did. Sure, it wasn't the most amazing sunset, but we say families of whales, with mom's teaching their newborns how to breach in the water and it was absolutely spectacular!!! That said, whales are literally everywhere this time of year and you can just watch the breach over and over again from the comfort of your pool chair...it's just a little farther away than the boat! ?? We also did the luau with our girls (ages 8 & 11). It was a great performance with the sunset in the background. Every group had their own table and rather than buffet style, they served literally everything on the menu to each table family style. We like to travel a lot and during Covid you don't know what you're going to get even at places you've been before as the rules have all changed. This Marriott however, crushed it and I'd be hard pressed to recommend anywhere better, especially right now while other properties are still figuring things out. In fact, we had planned to stay next door at the Grand Wailea but after researching a bit, much of their property was closed still. Luckily, some friends of ours had been to this Marriott back in December and said glowing things about their experience so we changed and it could not have worked out better for us! Lastly, I found it remarkable that the staff organizes and funds their own food drives for those still furloughed and/or only working partial hours due to covid. It was just another example of how caring the staff is and I just found that inspiring!

The Wailea Beach Resort Marriott is where it’s at. I have stayed at both Four Seasons and Fairmont in Wailea and this property beats them both, hands down. This is my second stay here in two years and this trip was extended multiple times because it was too difficult to leave (especially when we are lucky enough to work remotely). The property is stunning with both adult only and family infinity pools- and legit water slides. One of the most beautiful pools and backdrop anywhere. After spending nearly three weeks here we have gotten to know so many of the amazing staff starting with the resident manager (Stacy) who has gone above and beyond to make sure this isn’t just a good stay but a perfect one. You can tell attention to detail with a great attitude starts at the top here. The servers at the pool Shay, Mariko and Dana to name a few- so friendly even after running around for hours on end in the heat- (we notice!) they are bubbly and want everyone to have a great time, they’re not just there serving cocktails. Kyle with pool and activities always looking out making sure you’re comfy and not missing out on anything. And of course the bartenders Brad, Cody, John Boy...you guys rock. And don’t miss the kayak and swim with the turtles on-site (sounds touristy but it’s so worth it.Luau was fantastic, delicious food and a gorgeous sunset. ) I cannot find one thing to be critical of here- we wanted for nothing and will be back for many years to come.

It had been over 10 years since last stayed at the Marriott Beach Resort and we were drawn back by the incredible infinity pool. Arriving we were greeted with a great surprise in that the entire resort has been refreshed and looks amazing. From Dheeane Dancel's great welcome gift to Mario's daily service at the pool to the incredible swimming with the turtles experience we had a great time! We loved the day time view and night ocean sounds from room 7225. If you are Bonvoy member with points to use I highly recommend this location for maximum benefit! Again the adult infinity pool with the views of the whales breaching, the bedlike lounge chairs, and service were everything we hoped for in a "office" relocation.

I've stayed at this property half a dozen times or so and LOVE it! Very different with the current state of affairs, but probably enjoyed it even more. To begin the property is meticulously laid out and kept up extremely well. This stay was incredible .Thanks to COVID probably about 30% occupied and we had pools to ourselves but I've also been here on holidays at capacity and had lots of space. The grounds are huge and great walking beaches so you're not on top of people. This trip was a couples only break, but have come with the kids too. It's great for families with a cool game room, family pool and massive water park size slides. But if looking for romance the adults only areas mean no lil ones interrupting. Aside from the fantastic pools where you can watch the whales jump and best resort waterslides in the state the staff here is really what keeps us coming back. Even before we arrived I had called asking about closures and the positivity and gratitude expressed over the phone just made me want to come here even more. Checking in with full leis and guava is always a treat. I'm a Marriott Platinum and even though there is no lounge and the continental breakfast amenity doesn't compare to the lounges I've always gotten incredible upgrades and it really works. My spouse gold and his upgrades have also been great. Every staff member we come across always smiling and happy. A special shout out to Terrance at the front desk who has checked us in on multiple occasions and is a delight and wealth of info as well as Ryland our pool server. Wow is Ryland a positive guy and extremely helpful. This is a place you come for real aloha and unwind from reality.
