    Wonderful Romantic and Fun Trip

My husband and I had a wonderful 6 night stay at the Sandals Royal Bahamian. The private island was absolutely beautiful and we went there every single day. Food was awesome and the drinks were flowing. We felt that the resort along with the island was the perfect way to just relax and do a whole lot of nothing except enjoy each other, but when we were ready to have fun, fun was easily found. We danced to the DJ at the Royal Theater one night, the pub another night, danced to a band at the chocolate buffet party and spent a couple of evenings at the piano bar. The ocean was absolutely beautiful and we could literally sit on a lounge chair staring at it all day. It was a wonderful stay, Our 4th Sandals property and we can't wait til the next one.

    Fine, but not a 5-Star

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in an Oceanfront Balmoral Butler Suite. Overall we had a nice time with no big complaints. We found service was good (and the staff friendly), food was adequate (Baccarat for dinner was our favourite) and the property was fine. The butlers were friendly and helpful for booking dining reservations but we didn’t use them as much as we could have. Our highlight was the island (though it was a 30 minute one-way trip as we had to take a shuttle and then a boat). It was very nice and felt quite secluded at the back of the island. I would suggest heating the pool. We would have gone here more than one day but the water conditions were apparently not ideal so it was closed. Unfortunately, this property is not a true 5 star. There were some nice aspects but I’d say it was closer to a 3 star. The food, while fine, is not anything special, the beach had a lot of seaweed so it was not attractive for swimming (and there didn’t seem to be a tractor for clearing the beach), most of the pools were too cold to swim in, and our room/building wasn’t impressive except for the view (first picture). Chairs at the pools were hard to come by and there didn’t seem to be any poolside service. I’ve stayed at a few other Sandals properties before and this one was my least favourite. It is also a lot smaller. Overall, we had a good time but I would stay elsewhere if in Nassau again.

My experience went wrong starting at the airport hotel shuttle service..which took 2 hours. The check in process was ridiculous. The desk staff was rude and snooty..the wedding ceramony was the highlight. The DJ's were rude and ate off the reception buffet. Basically a 3*** experience at best I will agree with all of the poor reviews..posted prior.. I would not reccomend this Sandals resort...and would definitely not return..for the money..I will pursue other options ?

    First Time Sandals Has Disappointed

This is my husband and my forth stay at a Sandals property. This is the first time every category has disappointed. The service is poor, slow, and unfriendly. No one smiles, and it can take 5-15 minutes to even be acknowledged at restaurants, etc. The rooms are ok. The food is ok. The entertainment is ok. The blended drinks are poor as they simply pour the booze on top of the machine mixes-nothing is actually blended together. If you’re wanting to take a Sandals vacation, I’d recommend passing on Royal Bahamian.

My husband and I just got back from Sandals last night. We had a great time! We were a bit nervous after all the other reviews but we never experienced any of negative feedback so I wanted to share. I can only speak from a butler room experience as I do feel they were the highlight of our trip. AlShane and Paula were definitely a great team. Both were equally amazing! Fortunately or unfortunately for my bank account, we started with our honeymoon trip in 2008 with a butler suite so we have always been very lucky to do butler level. We are very low key and only wanted to relax after a few very crazy months so we mostly walked around at night and sat by the fire pits, then during the day we were at the pools or beach. We met so many cool couples! We didn’t spa or do any excursions this trip. AlShane and Paula were training TedRoy as he was a butler but new to this resort. They would call us and ask us what we needed at least a couple times a day. They proactively made sure we were taken care of, that we had drinks, food, and whatever else we needed. This was our 8-9th time at a Sandals and I think this butler team was the best we ever had! We ALWAYS feel like we don’t want to bother them when we call but this team called us and encouraged us to call them. They truly made us feel like they wanted to help us or do anything they could to make sure we were having a great experience. Also, the butler manager, (I cannot recall her name!) :( was so fantastic. She remembered us during check in, at the return guest dinner and when we were leaving. She was always smiling and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. My husband went one morning to get ice and the machine was empty. A guy named Caesars saw this, stopped what he was doing and proactively asked him what was going on and the took the ice bucket, went and got ice and brought it to our room within minutes! Overall, there were plenty of towels- always and the staff specifically at Spices, were super nice!
