My spouse & I vacationed at this Resort from April 17 - May 1, 2024. Overall it was a positive experience. Notable positives included a great choice in food at the buffet, plenty of space around the pool areas and lots of available cabanas at the beach. It was very easy to notice activity ongoing to provide updates and improvements. While there we noticed that 6 new outdoor hammocks were constructed, a new shelter (possibly for outdoor dining) was under construction and the beach cooking shelter was torn down with a new one quickly under construction. Other improvements were ongoing as well. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would like to give a special shout out two of the gardeners that we interacted with (Rienier & Michael) who were a pleasure to converse with and to whom appreciated for their work and friendliness. On a negative note, the poor (or lack of) wi-fi availability from the rooms was disappointing. This should be improved upon. Also, if you are a light sleeper you will not be happy with the amount of noise late at night from the closing of guest room doors. Something needs to be done to dampen the sound that reverberates throughout the level whenever a door closes. It will definitely wake you up or startle you!

This is the third time I have been to this resort and I will be back. The staff, Anita (Ana Maria Deus) from Public Relations; Pedro and Alexei from the entertainment group made our stay FABULOS!!! My friends and I had the best time ever. There is a food shortage is Cuba, but this hotel was well stocked with food. Anita would always work her hardest to make sure we were happy! Even found her on the beach one day looking for customers who wanted her. She goes out of her way to make everyone's stay a special one. Pedro and Alexei are always great at the activities! They make being there super fun. They are super engaging with the clients and make sure that even those that travel alone, are always looked after. They are the life of the party. They both work super hard. Rooms are super clean and pretty up to date. Hotel is always being looked after. They are always fixing things up or cleaning things up. This is by far the best hotel in Varadero. I am already looking to go back.

This is my 2nd time at Iberostar Selection Varadero and everything here is amazing! The best is Pedro from the animation team. He gets the party started with the foam party in the pool and bocce ball at the beach. And with Anita we have the best conversation over coffee. So much fun!! Will definitely be back here.

We had a great time here. The buffet was good and there were a lot of choices. We all know that Cuba can have shortages but we didn’t find that at all. My wife has celiac and she was well looked after there. Just ask for a letter at customer service explaining your situation. The chef took her around every meal showing her what to stay away from and what was good to have. He even made her gluten free meals when there not many options for her. The rooms were great and kept clean. The pool was awesome and all the staff were great. My kids loved the swim up bar lol. The snack bar next to the pool was good but not as many choices as the regular buffet of course. The fancy restaurants were great and lots of fun if you get the right chef. There were entertainment shows every night and they are great so don’t miss those. The night club was blasting tunes and it sounded great but when we went in there were not many people inside. Could have just been the night we went not sure. Overall great time, great staff and a great place. We would highly recommend it and we will be going back again.

We had an amazing experience at Iberostar Selection Varadero during our recent trip to Cuba. Our stay in a newly renovated room in building 16 was exceptional – spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully maintained by our wonderful housekeeper, Dianelys, who delighted us with creative towel decorations and fresh flowers daily. The buffet offered a great variety of dishes including chicken, pork, beef, and seafood, complemented by delicious desserts. Although the à la carte menu had a fixed selection, the quality was decent. Our favorite dining experience was at El Bosque Gourmet Restaurant, where we enjoyed a delightful pumpkin soup, lobster, and a scrumptious dessert. A standout highlight of our stay was the exceptional service from the pool bartenders, Rizzo and Dayron. They truly elevated our experience with their friendly demeanor and expert mixology skills, crafting delicious cocktails like Pina Coladas, Miami Vice, and Mojitos. Each visit to the bar was a memorable occasion thanks to their attentive service. The evening entertainment at Iberostar Selection Varadero was outstanding. Talented singers and dancers put on captivating performances every evening, showcasing incredible talent and professionalism. The variety of shows ensured there was something enjoyable for guests of all ages. The beach at Iberostar Selection Varadero was absolutely stunning, with soft sand and crystal-clear, azure waters. Ample lounge chairs allowed us to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. During our stay, we also took advantage of the beach’s offerings of water sports activities. We tried paddle boating and kayaking, which added excitement and adventure to our beach experience. Just a note for future guests: beach towels require a $30 deposit per towel, payable by credit card at the front desk. Upon payment, they’ll issue a towel voucher that you can exchange at the towel hut beside the pool. Don’t forget to return the towels before checkout to reclaim your voucher from the reception. Exploring Varadero town was convenient with the hop-on-hop-off tour bus for just $5 USD per person. Pro tip: use Cuban pesos for purchases of food and drinks in town and USD for shopping at the flea market. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we’re already planning our return to this resort on our next trip to Cuba. Highly recommended!
