Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort .... A Bastille of Indulgence.

Blanketed against the soaring backdrop of the Blackcomb Mountains is the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. It is nestled in this scene like an imposing-looking castle resembling the chateau's that dot the shores of the dramatic European Rhine Gorge as viewed from the deck of a river cruise. This spectacular property offers classic elegance in a modern alpine setting. With it's ski-in/ski-out convenience, the Fairmont is a great draw for 'snow sport' zealots and lets not forget the 18-hole professional golf course and associated driving range for anyone who has fallen under the spell of 'playing golf'. The Chateau is well endowed with luxury in/out amenities including tennis courts, heated pools, hot tubs, state-of-the-art fitness centre, a smorgasbord of eating options and a luxe spa for soothing sore limbs. The lobby is draped in a classic ski lodge interior pronounced with soaring timber- lined ceiling, stone structures and a warm rustic aura. It is a gargantuan space, sporting Canadiana notions, Mennonite carpets and a massive grandiose fireplace and other paraphernalia that would be appreciated by sports buffs. I splurged on an Alpine Suite, where one could not escape the breath-taking views of the bulky foliage as the room faces the mountain range. This panoramic feature of the room was worth the price. The decor profile of the Alpine includes, cool artwork, rustic lodge texture, king bed, cozy fireplace, and separate living area. The bath was endowed with accoutrements befitting a room of this stature. The creme de la creme of accommodations; however, is with Fairmont's Sumptuous Gold Service Suites with keen dedicated concierge service and digs fit for royalty. The Chateau has a collage of eatery options destined to generate something appealing for anyone's palate. Whether its Sunday brunch at the Wildflower, a quick sweet fix at Portobello Market and Bakery, lunch items paired with a custom crafted cocktail at the Mallard Lounge or upping the food ante with a steak or seafood at the Grill Room.......all is good. So, to enjoy in/out world class amenities, surrounded by an enchanting location right out of a fairy tale, a melange of eateries, a pampering spa, keen service...........try the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort.......A Bastille of Indulgence.
Renovated Gold Club- 5 star!
Reviewed by CMCLdn1(London, Canada) on Mar 02, 2021
My daughter and I are in the middle of 6 nights at the CWR. We are in a gold club suite. The newly renovated gold club is fantastic. The decor is only surpassed by the food, which is only surpassed by the staff. We have stayed in many club levels, but this is truly the best. The staff all seem rightly proud of the totally re-done gold lounge, and the room (with a matching modern mountain theme to the lounge) simply can’t be beaten. From answering many questions and assisting with changing our room request pre trip, to booking our pool/ hot tub slots on check in, to arranging our Mountain Tour ski guide outing (complimentary to guests- absolutely do this if you don’t know the mountain, as it was a spectacular morning), to wonderful welcomes and arranging dinner reservations, the gold staff can’t be topped. Do yourself a favour and if you are considering it, book the gold club!
No more LIVE music in the lounge!

This is one of our favorite hotels. Unfortunately, the Mallard Loinge did away with the live music in the evenings because someone complained it was too loud. Sitting in the lounge, next to the fireplace with an adult beverage, listening to live music WAS one of the bests parts of this hotel. Disappointing and lame.
Perfect Staycation

My husband and I recently spent a night at the hotel for a mini-staycation. Even though we live in the area I was a tad hesitant to be in a hotel during Covid. That being said I couldn’t have been more at ease once we arrived. We were promptly temperature checked and felt completely comfortable once we saw how well all the covid protocols were being followed. We used the pool area twice and had plenty of room to relax and keep to ourselves. We love this hotel and it’s fabulous staff. The concierge and front desk are always helpful and warm. The staff at the pool (thanks James!) couldn’t be nicer, our room was beautiful and spotless and frankly every interaction we had was great. Somehow the Fairmont has managed to seamlessly blend relaxation and Covid protocols into one! We highly recommend you step away from watching reruns of Schitts Creek and eating Hello Fresh on the couch to put on real pants and get yourself to the Fairmont! Jen and Jay Neil

What a incredible hotel. I had a outstanding welcome and in the pool I had a unforgettable experience as lizzy come over and offered me any assistance making me feel better after I had a injury from snowboarding. Thanks again
