Casa Velas is an absolute gem of a resort as we discovered during our first stay in March 2023, and confirmed to us again when we returned in March this year. You can believe the many 5-star reviews guests leave because absolutely everything about this resort is maintained to a very high standard. It is clear from the minute you arrive that everyone, from the very caring Front Desk and Concierge who assisted us several times, Dining Room (delicious meals and wonderful service), Pool Bar, Housekeeping (our room was kept sparkling), Grounds staff (always meticulously maintaining the lush landscape, trees and flowers) to the Beach Club, work very, very hard to make your vacation experience exceptional! Casa Velas is situated slightly inland, with access to a beautiful sandy beach from the resort’s Tau Beach Club, a short shuttle ride away provided to its guests. Most days we chose to walk to the Club through the local neighborhood - it’s an interesting walk, about 10-15 minutes. And again, the food and service at the Club were terrific. The heart of Puerto Vallarta is just a short taxi ride away from the resort, and whether you take one of the many tours offered online (a great way to meet fellow travelers), or just want to do some exploring on your own, there is so much to see. It is a vibrant and bustling city! Other interesting excursion options can be found online. And if you want to venture further outside of the city a daytrip to the beach town of Sayulita which we took with a guide on our first trip in 2023 is highly recommended. This was my second time at this amazing resort. This time was for my girlfriend‘s birthday, here for 5 days and 5 nights. it could not have been more perfect! This resort is so impressive! It’s meticulously cared for, all the smallest details are handled, it’s like being in that old show Fantasy Island. The pictures online do not do a justice because it is so much more glamorous. Located in the gorgeous marina, they will shuttle you to their Tau Beach Club, which is another amazing experience, and it’s only a cab ride away from the fantastic downtown Puerto Vallarta Boardwalk. We have been many places, many vacations. This is by far hands-down just a wonderful experience and we plan on coming back every year. Big shout out to Ulises who took care of us while we were at the pool every day and to Jose who came to our room every day bringing us whatever we desired, plus his beautiful smile and charming personality. If I could give this property 10 stars, I definitely would.

Finally found our spot, been to many upscale resorts in Mexico and Caribbean but this one has figured out what people truly are looking for. Lets start with the ambience, which is like a sigh you take knowing you can finally relax. The staff go above and beyond to accommodate you in your every needs. The resort has a retro colonial design, so if your looking for bling this not the place. The food is exceptional comparable to any fine dinning establishment which is reflected in their presentation and service. The location is within walking distance to their other properties that you have access to and the Marina. They have achieved their goal which is to create a satisfied guests that will always wish to return. Thank you to all the staff of Casa Velas for our memorable stay and see you soon.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Casa Velas it exceeded our expectations. This is the perfect place. If you want a tranquil location where you are pampered and still are close enough to anything you wanted to do we understand why people come back numerous times to this wonderful facility.

We had a wonderful, long weekend stay at Casa Velas. The facilities were immaculately maintained and in tip-top shape. Everything had a personal touch to it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the best food we've had at a resort! However, this is not for you if you want a loud, party-scene type resort. It gets quiet in the evenings, limited entertainment options, and a more mature crowd (and feel). The food at Emiliano was both tasty and presented very well indeed. We greatly enjoyed their long and flexible opening hours, without having to go through the usual resort restaurant bookings. Service was generally fast, except on really busy nights. I really enjoyed the Octopus (appetizer?) and the various Tacos. Aqua Bar was great, service was prompt and responsive, and the pool was well heated. Just be wary of operating hours, as by 7pm everything around the pool starts to shut down. The Beach Club was Fantastic! They arranged a surprise birthday celebration for my wife and made it truly memorable! Further, they offered us better seating by the pool and an earlier dinner time, so we could see the sun set. I HIGHLY recommend the Lobster!!! In spite of that, cleanliness and responsiveness of service (while still good) was several notches down from Casa Velas (remember the Beach Club is at a nearby property). Also, please be advised that while the beach pool has a hot tub, this hot tub is lukewarm at best (as is common for many Mexico resorts). Spa and Salon facilities seemed great, but because of the limited opening hours, we only utilized the steam room briefly before our check-out. Also, you need an appointment, even just to use any of the amenities (e.g. the steam room). We considered golfing at the adjacent (on-property) golf course, but IMO the green fees were incredibly overpriced for the condition of the course. While we paid premium buck for this stay, we felt it was well worth it! We chose this over the St. Regis Punta Mita, because it was for the same price but All Inclusive vs Bed and Breakfast at the latter. The best rates that I could find for Feb/Mar 2024 were through Priceline. We greatly enjoyed our stay here, and I will most definitely return and recommend it to friends and family!
