Perfect location for remote work getaway

The purpose of our trip was to be in a gorgeous place while we were working remotely. This location was definitely as beautiful as all of the website photos. We had exactly what we needed in the villas to be comfortable for the week, including reliable wi-fi, a full kitchen, comfortable bedroom, spacious bathroom, laundry, and an amazing view from our balcony. We also enjoyed taking our work to the poolside, and going to the beautiful beach when we were ready to unplug. We saw the sunset each night, whales breaching, and snorkeled right there in the water. Due to COVID restrictions, only one restaurant was open and the spa, convenience store, and other amenities were also closed. But I feel like safety practices were definitely in place. I would love to go back!
Upscale Resort in Kaanapali

The location, grounds and amenities on this resort are top notch. Walk right out from your room to the huge pool area with sections for kids and adults. Then directly to a sandy beach! Rooms were large and spacious! We had a walk in shower and a jacuzzi tub! The pools and beach were amazing!
Westin Villas in Maui

What a great escape from 2020. The resort is following all COVID guidelines & staff wears their masks all the time. Guests wear their masks in the lobby, hallways & whenever they are close to others. Only one restaurant is open at the Westin Villas & the spas are closed. But the pools & slide remain open. We had a very relaxing time around the pool & on the beach. We worked out most mornings on the grass, looking out to the beautiful ocean. Occasionally, you can see whales blowing, swimming or breaching. The entire staff is very helpful & nice. Most of the restaurants on the island are open for in-dining seating. Highly recommend this resort. Steve Concialdi
Overrated - Disappointed

Came here in January for much needed vacation and was immediately disappointed upon check in.. my reservation was for an ocean view room. I received an “upgrade” for Bonvoy/Westin membership to the 4th floor overlooking heavy construction tractors and equipment below. After complaining, I was moved across the hall overlooking the children’s pool.. the food options at this hotel are very limited, especially for vegetarian and vegans. The mai-tais were weak and frozen. One day I asked for vegetarian tacos poolside and the server brought two tortillas with a scant amount of shredded cabbage only. We had to go to neighbouring hotels to eat and drink during our 9 day stay.. The neighbouring Sheraton properties food and drinks blow this place away! Sorry, never coming back.

Our family was excited to be able to travel again after what a 'trying' year 2020 was, so we planned to go to Hawaii where we have been numerous times. We booked a room at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas using some points we had accumulated with our Marriott Bonvoy account (My wife & I have Titanium Elite status) as we have had excellent experiences with Marriott/Westin hotels previously. Little did we know that upon arrival, our status meant absolutely nothing. I understand there are differences in what each hotel/resort property offers, and given the extra measures currently put in place for the safety of guests and staff, some things are just not possible, but it was extremely suprising that nothing was done - we were given an 'upgrade' to our original room booking - but that was simply a different view! No welcome message, or welcome gift or anything 'extra' which is usually what membership and loyalty generally welcomes and recognizes. The resort itself is great - excellent beachfront property, great pools for kids (& adults), awesome water slide. Spas/jacuzzis were closed as was some of the dining options - which we didn't bother with anyway as given the service upon check-in we didn't have high hopes. No room clean service was given, we had to continually ask for clean towels and toileteries (bath/shower wash, shampoo etc.) Location is great but only go if you are an 'owner'. It is not really a Westin/Marriott property as they (this property) doesn't seem to recognise their most loyal customers.
