The Grande Dame of hotels in Toronto. Perfect location. Gracious service.

Waterloonie (Waterloo, Canada) on May 04, 2024

This is the place to stay in downtown Toronto. Central to everything with many of the finest restaurants within 10 minutes by cab or on foot. Old world charm and grace. Excellent service. Highly recommended hotel whenever you find yourself in Toronto.

Ask if there are events going on, this hotel is very busy

Kim K on May 02, 2024

Always ask if there are events going on, this is a crowded hotel!! If there is more than one conference or event, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I am sensitive to the crowds and would have liked a slightly quieter trip. Otherwise the hotel is very nice and the service is great. One other issue is that the entire hotel is very dark. I had a hard time putting makeup on, seeing my breakfast, etc. Its like a Vegas casino.

Perfect Stay

karenU3864QU (London, Canada) on Apr 26, 2024

The Iconic Royal York is so convenient when visiting Toronto. I always travel by train so it is just a short walk across the street to the hotel. The staff are always welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to so many great places (shops, restaurants, markets, venues) and the subway is right there for places too far to walk. The restaurants at the hotel also offer superb, quality dining with consistency so there is never any disappointment.

An excellent stay!

Marion D on Apr 25, 2024

All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally comfortable and I hated to leave the armchair and footstool behind! Bed linens and towels were of high quality. I ate breakfast in The Bakery where I was offered a choice of seating and chose a small table by the fireplace. My meal was served on a large attractive plate and contained yogurt with granola, a smoothie shot, a bran muffin, as well as assorted fruit. The serving was so large I ate only half the muffin. In addition, I was offered a print copy of The Globe and Mail, a paper I usually read on-line. I chose coffee to drink. After checkout, I left my small backpack in the luggage room to retrieve later on my return to Union Station. I will certainly choose this hotel should I stay in Toronto overnight in future. It’s expensive but so are most hotel stays.

Lovely Hotel, Central location, Top Notch Staff

Cloony F on Apr 22, 2024

The staff at the Royal York are some of the most friendly, helpful, professional people I have encountered on my travels! From making a reservation over the phone, to being greeted at the front doors, the check-in, restaurant staff and having the lovely surprise of welcome treats in our beautiful suite, I give my experience at the Royal York FIVE stars! This Grand, Historic Hotel is very centrallly located in downtown Toronto as well. I will be back! Lorraine Frazer
