Such a fun place. Beautiful. Not recommended for food.

We had a great trip. The rooms all vary a lot in quality, I would recommend asking for a new one because they do have some nice rooms. The food is not good quality (especially the Italian place) and the alcoholic beverages are really sugary (I recommend asking for sugar-free). At sunny side they get orders wrong A LOT so be really clear, also it can take a while so don’t go here if you don’t have a lot of time. That being said everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful, big shout-out to Arbey who runs all the activities he’s a saint and such a hard worker. I would stay here again because it’s a really fun time. People who stay here tend to be really social and there’s always something to do. If you’re looking for better rooms I would recommend the neighboring hotel Secrets, but if you don’t spend a lot of time in the hotel room I would recommend Sunscape Sabor. The beach is great, the pools are great, the scuba diving is beautiful.

    Resort From Hell

First let me say we have been to Cancun area and stayed at resorts, Dominican Republic and Jamaca. This by far turned out to be a resort from hell from the day we checked in to the day we left. The day upon check in we did not get the room we booked for. We paid for a Ocean Front delux but got Ocean view. We ended paying extra $400 to upgrade our room to a honey moon suite on the Ocean, about the only thing that was nice at this miserable resort. The staff in the lobby was rude and not helpful. The waiters where great and took care of us. For food choices, they had 4 Restraunts and 2 only open at a time. No snack bar to get snacks. We went to one restraunt at 8pm and we waited for over hour before the hostess came out and said they are now closed and we must wait until 11pm to eat at the midnight food. We had to pay for a Taxi and go down town and eat dinner. Breakfast buffet was the only food edible at this place. The water which the resort has nothing to do with was amazing. So stay away, go to Secrets or another place.

I recieved the most amazing service from Randy Miranda and Javier Untura Balm while here on vacation. I absolutely am grateful to them for making our vacation that much more enjoyable and amazing. We will definitely be going back and i hope they are there when we do!

We went here to celebrate a friends birthday so it was a larger group. But not a place my husband and I picked out or sought out. This was my first all inclusive experience... I expected more but I guess it’s a get what you pay for situation. Overall not awful. When we arrived there was no electricity for about 4 hrs. So I had a rocky start but the outage wasn’t the hotels fault. We just could check or anything and the food lines were very long because only some were open due to the power being out. We stayed at the beach mainly don’t need electricity for that Food and drinks: Mixed drinks were watered down but tasty, I expected that. sometimes carbonated stuff was flat because they used 2liter not lien fountain or sprayer sodas. I went to el patio first night. Two of the restaurants were booked for private events so it was very limited. I ate at the sunny side often because it was closest to my room and beach. Buffet place had the most variety so i had the most success finding something that would taste decent. Ice cream at sunny side was pretty good. I never got to try the Italian place unfortunately.Overall the food was mediocre but it wasn’t like I starved or got sick. There was no meal I loved and quite a few I didn’t like at all, but all of the waiters and bar staff we’re great. Room: I went with a group of 16 people and rooms varied. We all paid the same price accept one of 1 couple who chose ocean view room. The rest had the regular rooms (i got lucky and my room was right on the ocean so my sliding glass view was of the walkway but I opened my door to the ocean). Some rooms had decks/porches and some didn’t (I didn’t) some of those with decks/porches 2 chairs, some had one and some had none. Everyone had a table in the room but the chair situation was similar to the decks/porches (mine had two). Every room had a mini fridge. They were supposed to be stocked but some weren’t at first (our checkin was weird considering there was a power outage, they kept it full moving forward). The fridges were different size, color, size and age. Mine seemed newer black rectangular one, one friend had the small fake wood grain square one that was rusty on the bottom and looked like it belong in a 1970s basement. I requested one king bed but my room had two beds. No biggie we pushed them together. The room was decent. Some of my light switches or fixtures didn’t work. Good shower pressure, but the water smelled weird. The room stayed cool with AC and fan (it was upper 80s and humid the whole time.) Also I didn’t have a balcony/ terrace area which would’ve been nice so i could hang my swimwear outside to dry. Beach: beautiful but rocky so i suggest water shoes, some of my friends didn’t have them and survived but I’m glad i did. The beach was rarely crowded and there was plenty of seating. I like that some water sports are included. I also loved the swing sets at the bar by the beach. There wasn’t beach bar service we had to go get drinks and bring it back. Oh and the WiFi didn’t work at all during our stay Would we come back? Doubt it. It would have to be for a similar situation or a wedding and even then I’d probably just pay more for secrets next door.

    Good value for Dive vacation!!

We normally stay at Secrets resort brand in the AMResort chain, my goal is attempting to not compare to Secrets as Sunscape is the lowest brand in the resort offering. We came to dive, thought we would give Sabor a try. The resort is a great value for the money, booked a double ocean view and received an amazing upgrade to ocean view suite!! The room had a king size bed with a separate area for couch, table for 4, bar area, large wrap around patio, outside jacuzzi tub. The rooms and facilities are very dated but very clean. The staff has been great from housekeeping (Dolores), front desk, restaurants and bar areas (Miguel and Javier). Things that I missed staying here but are just not included was room service, upgraded mini bar, pool/beach beverage service, and nicer shampoos and soaps. Food selection and quality were lacking but we weren’t expecting much. Some nights restaurants were closed it would be nice to see weekly closures so you can plan. Resort is great for divers, dock is just next door for dive operations to pick up. We also did the hydro therapy circuit in spa late afternoon, it was disappointing. Water was murky and gross because off all massage oils used. Staff member who was supposed to guide us was a little bossy and pre occupied with another group and wouldn’t let us go into sauna because we didn’t follow her circuit. In the relaxation area the group was loud so we couldn’t relax and just left. Overall great dive vacation! Would stay again to dive, we were rarely in room and took cab out to eat a couple times.
