My wife, 2 sons (17 and 20) and 2 other families spend 8 days at the resort. We had a great time. Weather couldn't have been better - low 80's and sunny every day. All in all, this is a great resort. Smaller than we expected, but worked out great in the end. Here's the good and the bad based on our experience: The Good: The attention to health. all employees masked, constant cleaning going on, tables at restaurants reasonably spaced, spacing around the pool - they really did a good job here. Outside of Covid precautions, very clean resort. The staff. Octavio and Luis at the pool were outstanding. Bartenders throughout the resort were always great. The bellstaff were outstanding also. The whales. Saw a ton - every morning right from the room, world cafe, pool or beach. A couple even came right up near the beach (50yds away!). We all loved our rooms - great views, everything seemed to work. The food at the barefoot grill and the pool bar was great... had lunch at one of the two every day. The OK: The beach is beautiful, but man is it rough on the feet. Lots of small sea shells ground up. We ended up wearing shoes when we went on the beach. It's beautiful, just rough. Also not really swimmable. Very steep grade down to the water and significant rip-current. They make you sign a wavier before you go in the water. Most don't even try. The food was hit or miss. Wasn't terrible, but wasn't a highlight either. We found some nice places in San Jose del Cabo - what a great downtown! Highly recommend 3 roosters and Jasimine's. Both were outstanding. And depending on your POV... the kids "pool" is part of the main pool. So lots of little ones around the pool and using the hot tub as a swimming pool. Not good or bad for us, just beware if your used to having a separate place for the little ones - there isn't one here. The not-so-good: Housekeeping was hit and miss. Didn't get bath towels twice, mini-bar not refilled consistently. Cleaning was fine though. We were preferred and got beach towels in our room the first day, but never again. One of our friends had a room somewhere near an ice machine. They serviced it at 6am every morning - very loud and woke them up each day. Not sure why they have to do it at 6am. And the preferred club pool - bar wasn't open was the biggest problem so no one used the pool either... but even if it were open, it's on the side of the building and I'm not sure you'd get much sun. seemed like an odd location - but didn't matter to us too much, we used the other one. All in all, we had an outstanding time with some good friends. A few nit picks, but we'd definitely go here again.

My husband, 2 teenage sons (19 & 16) and myself spent 8 days at Dreams (Nov 20-28). Overall, we had a wonderful time. We travel to all inclusive resorts 1-2 times a year. Everyone has different things they look for in a resort. Here are some of our thoughts: Beach: The beach is usually one of our most important criteria. We don't have a beach where we live, so we spend a lot of time at the beach. The beach is not swimmable; which we were aware of. There are swimmable parts of the beach within walking distance. The beach itself was nice, however. Plenty of chairs and shade if needed. The staff does a terrific job checking on you and bringing you whatever you might need. We saw plenty of whales as we sat on the beach! Restaurants: We were a bit disappointed with the restaurants. My teenagers enjoy the option of a buffet, but the buffet was only open for breakfast. I assume this is because of COVID, but it was inconvenient. The only options for dinner were 3/4 of the restaurants. Each night, no matter what time we got there, we had a 30-60 minute wait. Many guests became pretty upset at this, but honestly, we are on an AMAZING vacation, so didn't bother us too much. The Barefoot Grill at the beach/pool area was our favorite place! This is usually where we had lunch. Amazing food! My boys ordered room service every night and said it was really good and the service was great. Preferred Club: We don't usually upgrade, but did this time. Honestly, I wouldn't waste the money. While the preferred section of the beach was nice, it wasn't monitored, so a lot of times we couldn't find a chair. The bartender at the Preferred Section of the beach, Orlando, did a really great job making sure everyone had what they needed. My husband enjoyed being able to receive some of the more top shelf beers that preferred club members had access to. The upgraded rooms were really nice and conveniently located. Entertainment: The shows each night were entertaining. There were a few nights that they didn't have a show. On our last night (Friday) we were told the show was cancelled due to an accident. There was always live music in the lobby area which was nice. All things considered, this was a really nice resort. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The place was immaculate. I never felt worried at all about current COVID issues. I would return here again.

Really enjoyed this place. We have been coming here for years and love it every time. Special thanks to Martin and Juan for their exceptional service. These two guys went above and beyond the whole week.

My husband, 22 year old son and I spent Thanksgiving week here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The room smelled like mold to me. We asked for a dehumidifier but they didn’t have one. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was average and the shower constantly changed temperature. We joined the Unlimited Vacation Club several months ago and have loved staying at several Secrets Resorts. In the VIP lounge at Secrets they always offered upgraded liquors and wines (included). No such thing here at Dreams- very disappointing, no Grey Goose, Tito’s, etc. Also, the food selection at the VIP Lounge was pitiful. Our biggest complaint would be the food overall. We really didn’t like any of it. We ate at all of the restaurants and felt them to be average at best. This is a great resort but we won’t be returning because we definitely prefer Secrets.

We just got back from Dreams. It was a beautiful resort. Safety was really important. Every restaurant had you use hand sanitizer before entering and took your temperature. While not every restaurant was open, there was 2 restaurants open at lunch and 2 others open for dinner. Breakfast was at the same place every day but they did change some of the food every day. Breakfast was basically a buffet still. We also could get room service all day. We stayed in a Preferred Club Family Master Two Bedroom Suite Ocean Front for my family of 4. It was very comfortable. While we could go to the Preferred Club, it wasn't really necessary. We could get all the food we wanted in the regular restaurants. There is a special preferred area on the beach too. There is your own bar which was nice, but it little more of a walk. We did not use the preferred lounge very much.
