Awesome resort

Chris P on Apr 30, 2024

My wife and I just got home yesterday so today is the right time to give my opinion on the resort. We got to the resort around 1030am and we were given a heads up to pack beach clothes in our carry on as our room wouldnt be ready until mid afternoon. Not a problem. We were prepared for that and upon arrival were given a welcome drink and we checked in. We were told our room would be ready by 1500hrs (3pm) local time and to check back in at that time and to go and enjoy ourselves. We did just that by going to the beach and laying around until 1500. We went back to to front desk, checked to see if our room was ready and after the concierge made a phone call, he said 20 more minutes. So we sat in the lobby and waited. After a couple mins, the concierge approached us and asked us if we wanted to upgrade our room to a better place. I asked a price and they said $100 US CASH ONLY! I said no thanks as we already paid for the premium upgrade and didnt think it made sense to pay for more. 20mins goes by and our room still isn't ready. We'd been up since 2am, travelling to the airport, dealing with travel and to be honest, we just wanted to get settled in our room. I went back up to the concierge and ended up paying $50 US to upgrade our room. I just wanted to get in and settled. The more I sat there in my room, the more I wondered if that wasn't a bit of a ploy for them to get more money, especially seeing as he would only accept cash to upgrade, and wouldn't allow me to use my Visa. Either way, it was a bit of a rocky start to our vacation but once settled, we were in a better frame of mind. The pools and beach are spectacular. The staff there do an amazing job keeping both clean. The food was excellent as well. We hit the Mediterranean, Japanese (twice), and Grill (twice) a la carte's and all were really good. The second time we did the Japanese it wasn't as good as the first time but it was still good. The second time around, we didn't get seafood as part of our meal. Drinks were good. No complaints there. All in all, I gave it a 4/5 only because I question the initial encounter at the front desk. I didnt have to pay anything to upgrade and could have just waited them out, but that was my choice. As I said, I think it was a game of chess between us and the concierge and he won but in the end, we were still happy with our room. Definitely recommend this resort to anyone interested in going.

Our VERY Impressive Experience

JasonAnalyRamirez06 on Apr 28, 2024

After reading some negative reviews, we had very low expectations for our stay. We were pleasantly surprised, however! Our room was very clean, and the cleaning staff were professional and friendly. The bedding was really comfortable, and we liked that we had control over the temperature in the room. (AC worked very well). The buffet at the resort was good, I just wished they served more local food. It seemed they served mostly “American” food like hot dogs, pizza, burgers, which I didn’t care much for. They did have a salad bar along with a few other options though, and their dessert options were phenomenal. We were able to make reservations for most restaurants on the resort and all were really good. We liked the Mexican restaurant “Alebrije”. Our server, Emilio, was awesome. My husband and I wanted to go back the following day so we requested Emilio again and a specific table by the window. They made it happen with no issues despite the short notice. They also added rose petals to our table making it that much more romantic and we definitely appreciated the extra effort. The resort has nightly entertainment, putting on a different show every night of the week. We enjoyed the show every night, but the Michael Jasckson show was our favorite (Friday night). The lobby bar was our favorite bar at the resort. Our favorite bartender, Jeane, was wonderful. Despite having a bar full of guests in the evenings, he was always very attentive, efficient, inviting and friendly. We almost felt like we were leaving a friend behind when we checked out, so we’ll definitely be back to visit. The resort had several gift shops, as well as a convenience store with toiletries, snacks, etc. For the most part everything seemed priced as one would expect. We did run out of sunscreen and ended up paying over $30 for a standard sized bottle. So make sure you take enough sunscreen! The Cafe was another one of my favorite places on the resort. I ordered a “cafe con leche” several times a day. The girls making the coffee were incredibly sweet and welcoming. My husband and I got a couple of massages at the spa, and were also very pleased. I opted for a swedish massage which was easily the best massage I’ve ever had. Overall, we received outstanding hospitality. The staff was very friendly and professional, accommodating all our needs. We would strongly recommend this resort.

Do not go there!

Natalia P on Apr 28, 2024

It was definitely the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. During our check-in, we agreed (after long persuasions of staff) to a better/more expensive room for an additional fee. From the very beginning the room smelled intensely of mold and after few days the room was flooded twice due to some pipe problem. Our things were flooded and the ceiling sagged under the pressure of the water. After few hours we were moved to another room. The only thing we wanted from the hotel as a result of the incident was a refund of the additional money that we paid for the upgrade to a "better standard", which we finally did not receive. The hotel did not agree and completely ignored us (literally). It was the first time I had to deal with such a poor standard of service, from the reception desk to the hotel restaurants. The reception staff were rude and slow, it seemed that they were serving customers as a punishment. After our room was flooded, we waited for about an hour until someone arrived to help us. Nobody outside the reception speaks English. The beach is disgusting, full of algae that nobody cares about. Nothing really worked here. The worst hotel and the worst vacation ever. I do not recommend it.

Excellent Stay

tyler e on Apr 26, 2024

This will be long winded but pretty thorough.... Check In: We (mid 30's couple) had an early flight and arrived at the resort around 130, before official check in time. Our room was ready early and check in was very quick. Yes they do ask you if you want to upgrade, they explain what the upgrade is, but a simple and polite no thank-you and we were on our way. Keep in mind, if you come at a busy time or with a shuttle full of people check in can take time, but that's the same at any resort you go to. Room: Our room was in building ten, right next to the buffet and main lobby. Our room was on the ground floor. There was plenty of vegetation in front of the walkout to provide is with plenty of privacy. The sliding door locked properly and we didn't have any safety concerns being on the ground floor. We didn't have any complaints with noise at night even though we were right next to the main lobby and theatre. The room itself was great. Great size, comfortable beds, TV had football (we went in January), AC worked, no issues with the room. Housekeeping was great. We only had the room cleaned a couple times during our week long stay, we didn't see a need to do it more often. When it was done the housekeepers came to the door and asked if everything was fine with the room and if we needed anything extra in the fridge. Pools and Grounds: We weren't in the premium section, but we did walk through it, it looked nice, but, to us, not worth spending any extra money....its just a pool. The pool we were at was very nice. Cleaned every morning, plenty of lounge chairs available, lots of sun and shade. Pool bar was great and service was great. We didn't have to go early to put towels on a lounge chair, there were many available up until noon. The beach was very nice. Sure, it has some seaweed, but its the ocean, what do you expect? If you go during storm season there will be more, some days are worse than others. We found it was all cleaned up by 10am. The pier was great for a short walk and pictures and there were lots of lounge chairs available. The rest of the grounds, gardens, etc. were all in excellent condition. Food: Food was great. I'm a fairly picky eater and had no issues finding things I liked. Breakfasts were excellent; go to the egg station and get a fresh egg for a sandwich. For lunch we would go to the buffet or the snack shack. The snack shack at the pool was very good, fresh burgers and pizza. The buffet was similar but with more variety. Dinners at the buffet were very good. The pasta station never seemed to have a long line, I don't know why, it was what I had every dinner (there are different sauces, add some chicken, get creative). The homemade doughnuts were the best. We never had an issue with lines to get into the buffet or at the hot food stations. The tables were always set, no problems getting a table, the staff were very friendly and quick when it came to getting drinks or utensils. We didn't think the drinks were watered down as some have said. The restaurants were all very good. Using the app was very easy for reservations. Entertainment: The animation crew were friendly and good at their jobs. They did everything they could to get everyone involved in whatever activities that were planned. I think there was also a kids group that parents could take advantage of. They would do various things like make their own pizzas for lunch. The nightly entertainment was excellent. All the shows were good, went every night. The lobby bar at night would get busy, but they had maybe 6-7 bartenders making drinks, the wait was never long. The Cons: After going to multiple resorts its usually easy to come up with things we didn't like, but it was hard for this trip. The only thing we found to not be a con, but inconvenient, was seating at night. If you're ones that like to sit at night with a drink and play cars or something, there weren't enough tables. The theatre was directly next to the lobby and it can get relatively busy at night, its a small area. Overall, we would go again and recommend it to others. It wasn't overly expensive and we were very happy with this resort.

Goal was achieved!!!

Scenic06971459852 on Apr 25, 2024

It was our 1st trip to Punta Cana and to Immpresive Punta Cana resort. We had a really lovely time. It was our late honeymoon after 29 years of merrege and the goal of this trip was total relaxation which was achieved. We got a few surprises from the resort, after we arrived to our room we found a plate of cookie cakes, during our stay we found our room full of flower and the 2nd last day we received a bottle of champagne. We thought it was very nice of the resort to help make our stay that much special. Impresive Punta Cana is a very clean resort(pools and beach are cleand every morning and evening)service is good, buffet full of vioriaty of foods that everyone can find something for themselves, housekeeping is exeland and here a big shout out to our Veniece who kept our room spotless and nicely decorated, fridge was always full of drinks (if you need more of something just write a note), this resort is smokers friendly which was very important to me, bartenders are very nice and fulfilling any of your wishes (bring your own cup and they will fill it with whatever you want and the size of the cup doesn't metter), our room was very comfortable size with a nice size of bed (personally I loved our pillows so soft and large) washroom was species but no bathtub only shower which was ok with us, TV in a room is a smart TV however wifi was very weak, this resort is composed of number of buildings which are 2 or 3 floors high and there is no elevators. Grounds were full of beautiful flowers, palm trees and well kept grass. Upon of our arrival check in was fast and efficient however there was one thing which I didn't like...as a new comers we were passed to one of the agents from Extadian company...it confused us so much, especially after a long trip we were tired and hungry. Agent was trying to get us to attend a meeting which at 1st we agree to. However after a few moments I remembered what my friends back home told me. We canceled the meeting...the reason of our trip was to rest not to make some investments...thankfully this event didn't spoiled our vacation ?????? Entertainment is nice, every evening something was happening...a lots of shows, singing, dancing...we went see Michele Jackson show and Magic show, it was very well done and we enjoyed every moment of it...I know they also have pool parties but we didn't attend any of them...we are quite people and not interested in such entertainment but if you young and energetic you might enjoy it. The resort has 4 souvenirs stores and prices are quite ok...we didn't go out of the resort simply we didn't have a need to do it... In conclusion, we really liked the resort, we enjoyed our stay and we will come back...also I will recommend this resort to others????, however I wish that English would improve with staff... Thank you very much for wonderful 7 days in paradise and for hospitality of the resort and all involved...??????
