I was in the Coral Tower for a week in March, just before travel started shutting down. I was concerned that the hotel was still having multiple cruise ships arrive every day, even though the COVID outbreak on cruise ships was well documented at the time. The rooms were renovated not long ago, but they have not held up well at all. The walls are banged up pretty badly and the floor is not in great shape either. The balcony door didn't close super well so there was a high pitched howl from the wind the whole time I was in my room. The pools were nice but the furniture is mildewy and doesn't seem to get cleaned very well. The restaurants onsite are outrageously expensive. I had Chinese food one night and it was over $90 for one person! (appetizer, drink, entree) I went for good sushi, but it was not that great. This was not a place where you can really relax and enjoy your stay. There are too many other people and all of them are super self centered and oblivious to the fact that other people exist. I think I am good to not visit the Bahamas again.

    Waiting on Refunds

It has long been on our bucket list to visit the Atlantis. I had booked an initial reservation for January for five nights. We decided to add a night, so the hotel requested that I cancel the original reservation and rebook a new reservation. Due to COVID concerns and restraints, we had to call off the trip. It is has been 98 days since I canceled the initial reservation and 80 days since I have canceled the 2nd reservation. I've been told that the system to process 3rd party refunds is down, and it's been down several weeks, and they are not sure when it will be up again. I find it concerning that the system has been down for "2-3 weeks." I question the legitimacy of this, as these negative posts about delays in refunds and systems being down, as been long past 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, this has tainted our entire perspective of this hotel. We had hoped that a hotel of this magnitude and class, would have greater concern for client care. Had I not been calling once a week for the past three weeks, I wouldn't have even known that the "system was down." As I was told in early October that both refunds were in queue to process.

    Still waiting on a refund

I had two reservations at this property that I booked. Once in June and when COVID forced the property to close I simply cancelled and rebooked for Sept which in turn had to be cancelled for their closure. And I’m still waiting on a refund! These reservations were both cancelled in June and I get the run around every time I call. They say 60-90 days and I get a different story on what is happening. It’s absurd. I send emails that don’t get responded to and I have two $900 deposits I’m waiting on. It’s beyond frustrating and becoming very doubtful that I’ll ever trust this hotel to actually stay there in the future

    Scam

I cancelled my reservation back in April and they committed to a full refund in 60-90 days from that date which seemed extreme but I apparently had no say in the matter. Now we are in September and after 4 follow up calls, still no refund. They keep giving me the run around and saying that I should receive the money "SOON". Also during every conversation with customer service they claim that they don't see that I have called previously. They are very unresponsive and keep stating that it takes time to process a refund. I've heard of other families dealing with the same issue and some other families who received their refund in an appropriate timeframe. Good luck on us ever booking again. Disappointing.

Got E-mail saying they have limited opening which means longer lines and wait times than ever. I'd go back in the furture if they fix their room registration problem. We signed up early and when we got their for our anniversary they stuck us in the cellar for the first night! Their answer was that some people over stay their planned visit. That is so wrong if they over stay and the room is booked then they should be put in whatever room is available as they are not meeting their commitment. I'm planning my 50th anniversary and am skipping any hotel or resort that cannot lock in the preferred room that is advertised! I'm flexible on the dates but not very flexible on the rooms or building such as Coral or Beaches only and no cellar. Assigning the room once you get their is crap in the computer age and all my traveling buddies agree. I warned them about Atlantis. Date Nov around 2005 John
