Lovely Experience

Judgingyouharshly on Mar 03, 2026

Lovely hotel with a beautiful, well-maintained beach. Lots of sun loungers available. It is not too loud, however if you are looking for a more lively scene, the resort of PDC has lots going on. Food was decent, and the drink choices were amazing - make sure to arrive early at the a la cartes, especially the Mayan one, as the get filled up quickly. There is a coffee bar where you can get frappuccinos and more, as well as brownies and croissants. We didn't watch any of the entertainment but there was quite a lot to do, especially for the kids. Animation team are very engaging and try to get everyone involved. The rooms are nice and spacious, although slightly outdated. I would also say the mattresses are really hard but that's preference I suppose. There is a wie variety of films and cartoons to watch on the TV. There is also a jug and ice bucket in which you can fill with water. Mini bar is filled with diet pepsi, full sugar pepsi, 7-up, and fizzy water - they do not automatically refill it. Safe is not included within the cost, its about $2 per night. Cleaners were lovely and always did a good job, leaving love-hearts and swan shaped pillows on the bed. Towels get stocked up daily. Balcony is a bit pathetic to be honest, you can't sit on it as it's too small. Staff were friendly and helpful. At reception, there is an excurisons team who are very informative on tours you can book. They are also multi-lingual! We did the Chichen Itza and Xcaret Park, which I would highly reccomend. Be careful if you do the zipling into the cenote though, I nearly broke my neck! Also, bring your passport to the Chichen Itza as they will stamp it as one of the seven wonders. Lastly, the resort of PDC is about a 20-25 mins walk. There are a lot of people who will try and get your attention and get you to come into their shops, they will also see your wristbands and tell you they work at the hotel, etc. Beware of rip-offs, always convert the MXN to USD or euros etc to ensure you are not being over charged.

AMAZING HOTEL

Linda F on Feb 28, 2026

We arrived after a very long flight from the UK.. we were met late at night by Orlando and Christian at check in.. amazing welcome.. they found our friend a room on the ground floor when we realised she wouldn’t manage the stairs!! We also had a ground floor room ours being bit jaded in decor but bed very comfy.. big shout out to staff here every member of staff either smiled or said hello in passing from Diane the cleaner in the lobby and restaurant to Edgar our room service cleaner.. big shout out to the animation team who were always very friendly and we enjoyed keeping fit with… also the lads Roberto, Jesus and Jose on the catamarans.. we had a lot of fun and laughter getting wet!! Not forgetting the lads at the bar never had to queue more than 3 deep and never for very long.. the lobby bar was brilliant too..Sergio.. and Christian We were here for 3 weeks and the food was amazing every night there was always something you’d like in the buffet and we also enjoyed the Mexican and Italian à la carte.. the beach was extremely clean and you could always get a sunbed any time of day.. there are plenty.. it is also very safe with security keeping an eye on things and a first class first aider who helped my husband when he had a fall… one thing we hadn’t realised until then There is a doctor on call and on the premises from 9am till 8pm. Lino the manager we met was always checking in and making sure things ran smoothly.. we have stayed in a lot of hotels all round the world this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in… thank you all for an amazing holiday..

This was a very good experience for us. The employees everywhere are very kind and polite. The animation team propose activities but is not intrusive at all. The hotel is well located and very clean. Congratulations to all.

Chill, comfortable, and perfectly run!

We spent a week at Viva Azteca with Air Canada Vacations and can’t wait to go back for 10 days! Highlights: Staff: A-1 — friendly, attentive, genuinely helpful Food: Typical all-inclusive fare, but lots of options; à la cartes didn’t require reservations; café was amazing Rooms & Resort: Beds and pillows are so comfy, and the whole resort is spotless Vibe: Not too big, intimate, family-friendly but still great for couples Pool & Beach: Plenty of chairs, sun and shade options Perfect balance of relaxation, comfort, and great service — highly recommend!

Thumbs up

Small resort perfect for those who want a quiet place for their vacation. Rooms are big and proper, no noise while we were there(also depends on guests of course). Restaurants are good (Manuel at the Bamboo, excellent service). The buffet is good with a lot of choices for every one. Only two bars, one at the beach would be good, but the service is superb (Christian ??). The beach is good with a lot of transats. A place I recommend and where I will get back for sure.
