Great time! Franco and Alfredo are awesome!

mdoolan19 (Nashua, New Hampshire) on May 02, 2024

The food was decent overall, room service was excellent and always on top of cleaning the rooms, the pool and beach views/access were amazing! But what topped off everything was the service. Franco is the man! He made the trip for our family with his activities by the pool and at night. Alfredo (bartender on roof) was great! Made us feel like we were the only customers on the resort and remembering all our drinks, etc. Each one of the staff was excellent and accommodating. The service and people are what makes this place great!

Don’t worry…wonderful vacation!

donellem578 (Liverpool, New York) on Apr 29, 2024

Decided to write a review because our 3 families just returned from Beach Palace and had a wonderful time! Each family had 2 adults and older children (ages 18 to 23). We booked through a family member who has a VIP membership. From what we can tell, there are different levels of membership (if you rent through a member). The highest being Diamond, second highest VIP, which is a black bracelet. We had a family member who is a VIP member and that is who we booked through (family member was NOT on trip with us). There are some amenities that are only for Diamond members like the covered cabanas on the beach. VIP level w/black bracelet can use the beds with umbrellas, which were still good and comfortable. Didn’t really feel like we were missing out on anything. There is beachside wait staff service for endless food and drinks. Overall, it was a great experience! We learned a few things that we would do differently next time, but would definitely (and are) going back next year. Admittedly, the resort does need some decor updates/facelift. But honestly, it was much, much better than what many of the reviews led us to believe before we arrived— so don’t worry. It is very clean and nice (both inside and outside). The staff is always cleaning and restocking, and you can easily use the Beach Palace App to reorder toilet paper, tissues, toothpaste, etc! We were supplied with “Chi” brand shampoo, conditioner AND a blowdryer and straightening iron to use during our week-long stay. As far as the resort buffet food goes, it was OK. We have been to many resorts and on cruises, and it was just about like all the rest. It is evident that the staff work very hard to keep the main buffet well-stocked with many options. If you ask or request something they are happy to oblige if possible (they made me oatmeal because I had not seen it on the breakfast buffet, but it actually WAS there, I just hadn’t found it). The staff service made the buffet better than most others I have seen. It doesn’t hurt to be kind and give nice tips! The restaurants were good, especially the steak at The Smokehouse. We also liked the asian/fusion restaurant, Momo. For a more casual dining experience, we went to the Italian restaurant, “Távola” and were pleasantly surprised! The pizza was awesome and pastas were very good! The other Italian restaurant is called “Gondola” and we felt it could have been better, but the dessert was excellent! Staff was always VERY attentive and hardworking to accommodate an allergy or special request at all restaurants and the buffet. By the way, speaking Spanish is definitely an advantage, but we were able to communicate clearly with most staff for the most part (in English) and be understood. We did not need reservations at any of the restaurants and did not have to wait long at all. The week we were there was just after the Spring break (busier weeks of March and first week of April). So it was perfect for us! The staff, if treated, as you would want to be treated, is amazing! So attentive and most of them always go above and beyond. Main Pool Bartenders Alfredo and Roman were excellent! They were so much fun and remembered our names and what each person drinks. They came up with excellent tasting shots for our many group toasts (even some great drinks without alcohol). Although this resort is on the smaller side compared to Moon Palace, if you are a beach person, this is definitely the place to go. In other parts of Cancun, the beaches do not have the clear water and ombre blue/turquoise colors like at Beach Palace. Our room was an ocean view, 6th floor for a family of 4 and had the most spectacular view of the main pool and stunning ocean water. Just sitting on the balcony in the evenings listening to the water and watching the moon/sky was so peaceful! If you are a family going with younger children, just a warning-when we were there (April 21-27) the waves were very strong. It was not really amenable to kid inter-tubes and boogie boards for little ones like other places we have vacationed in the US (like Hilton Head or the Outer Banks). Did not see many sand castles because the water is strong and washed most attempts away. But the beach does have some cool sand bars where you walk out into the ocean, and it gets deep, but keep going, and it gets very shallow so you can stand on the sand again. Another review mentioned the large Conch shells they found down in the sand. We looked but never found any. There are other shells if you search well, though. The main pool was great! Alexander, the water aerobics instructor was excellent and fun! They have pool and beach volleyball, water polo, underwater swim contests, beach soccer, and water zumba! As far as what we learned…transportation off resort grounds gets expensive after a few trips. We went once to an authentic Mexican restaurant and once to Senior Frog’s for a party night out with our over 18 young adults. Use caution off resort grounds, and stay alert at all times, because the environment is not safe at night off the resort, especially near the bars/entertainment venues. We did not allow them to go ofc the resort without us. Also learned that we should have just used the ferry to travel on a day trip to Isle de mujeres which was so much fun! Instead, we rented a boat which took much much longer to reach the island. You can rent golf carts on the island and drive yourself around for the day. We went to the beach with crystal clear water, shallow enough for standing. It was beautiful and relaxing. Careful-we almost stepped on a stingray! There is a ton of shopping for souvenirs and gifts (same type of touristy gift items), but there is also an art district that may have more upscale items (we didn’t make it there. Ran out of time). One drawback at the resort was the plumbing. We called maintenance three different times because our toilet would not flush. One time it took a couple calls to get fixed, but the other two times they were prompt in fixing it. The other issue is the lights in the room. They shut off on their own as I’m sure they are probably on automatic timers. However, the whole lighting system is kind of screwy and takes a day to get used to (no big deal). Overall, we are returning next year because we now know more about what to do and not to do. If you are on the fence about this all-inclusive, just remember that you get what you pay for, and it always pays to treat everyone with respect. Go with an open mind, and just have fun in the beautiful water, warm weather and awesome service!
