Excellent resort

Excellent place for vacation visit. The resort is well maintained, kids friendly, multiple restaurants with abundant food options. Well maintained beech, multiple kids activities Finally resort is just the right size, not too small, neither too big that you need a golf cart to move around.
Just book a cabana!
rmodriscoll (Nepean, Canada) on Feb 03, 2023
I would like to share our most recent experience at this property. We have been vacationing there since 2019. Our most recent stay was for two weeks from January 19, 2023 to February 2, 2023. Pros: 1-nice property with excellent beaches 2-great service from the service staff, when they’re not trying to upsell you on food and drink. 3-rooms were clean and mostly well-maintained 4-good security precautions, felt safe Cons: 1-proliferation of fee for use cabanas (US$119 per day). Are usually placed in areas where they block the view for the rest of the hotel guests. Less umbrellas than my last visit for the guests who choose not to rent a cabana. Drink service is also very slow for the rest of the vacationers. 2-previously paying the upgrade fee and staying at the adult Turquoize tower gave you a first come first serve cabana plus access to the water circuit in the spa. This is no longer included and is an upgrade on top of your upgrade for the turquoise tower. 3-standard practises is to leave your credit card for incidentals when you check in. The understanding is you will go over the bill on check out and pay for whatever you used. On this trip, our card was charged ahead of time with items we did not purchase. This triggered a red flag from our credit card company. The card was cancelled for our protection. This left us without a credit card for the remainder of the trip. Management was less than empathetic……how about zero. Therefore I had to take a cash advance from the ATM at the hotel to cover the remainder of the bill. The transaction fee was $63 Canadian. I was also charged double the upgrade fee for a different room category. The conversation regarding pricing was recorded. Our $2095.88 Canadian upgrade for four nights should have had inclusions which I had discussed with the desk person prior to my purchase. Not only were they not included. Hyatt also refused to cancel the upgrade and return our money when requested by us. We were told we could stay in the room we were currently assigned and still pay the upgrade fee or move to the upgraded room without the upgrades we were promised with the room. I am also a Hyatt member, we were given no discount, and no points for our purchase. 4-high pressure tactics by serving staff pushing guests to purchase upgraded drinks and meal packages. I remember one meal at habaneros where I was interrupted at least four times during my 40 minute meal with offers of upgrades for food and drink. 5-diaper clad children in the pools and hot tubs, do I need to say more? My conclusion is if you choose to stay at this property, book the cheapest room in either the family or adult towers. I would then rent a cabana and get the exceptional service with that upgrade. The room category we were in was the third most expensive of the rooms at the resort. People who stayed in the cheapest rooms and paid for a cabana had way more service than we did.
