Our stay krystal has been amazing to say the least . Everything has been flawless, our dinner experiences with Zacarias as our host/waiter has been great. So friendly and welcoming always making sure we was well looked after. Gracias Zacarias
Full review - great location & staff, but much to improve

I had no intentions of writing an unpleasant review for this vacation, but unfortunately we did not get the experience we had hoped for. This resort needs a better restaurant reservation system. Having to line up every day in the early morning to book dinner is ridiculous. All-inclusive guests should always take priority over guests on a different plan. I have never had to wait outside of a resort's buffet to be seated before. There is no air conditioning in the main areas (lobby, buffet, etc). We had to be moved from our original standard king room due to a non-functioning air conditioner. The front desk staff were more than accommodating and moved us to a partial ocean view room, although it had two double beds instead, but we didn't care because the air conditioner worked! Other than the rooms being newer and nicer, the Altitude tower didn't seem worth it to us for the price difference. The infinity pool wasn't anything special or private. We enjoyed the main pool and the servers at the pool bar and restaurant were awesome (specifically Jose, Alejo, Antonio & Sara). My favourite entertainment team member was Oscar. He has the best personality and the best eyelashes! I adored him! The beach location is amazing. You can't really beat it. That is probably the biggest reason I would consider booking this resort again. Unfortunately both my boyfriend and I got very sick (at different times). I consumed bad lobster at The Grill and suffered from food poisoning as a result. I was violently ill and when my boyfriend brought this concern forward to staff, he was immediately shut down by the hotel manager and the restaurant manager. They did not seem concerned whatsoever and basically denied everything, claiming I must've already been sick. We just wanted them to be aware in case other people were also sick that evening. The lobster was not part of the all-inclusive menu, so I paid for it AND was extremely ill. Just very disappointing as I had really looked forward to that meal. Luckily the pharmacy down the street was able to help me out. On our last day of the trip, my boyfriend ordered a beer before dinner and the bartender poured it into a cup that he had just washed in a large basin of what we have to assume was tap water. We didn't even make it to dinner because he started getting violently ill. They tell you not to drink the tap water for a reason. I'd say our best dinner was at Ayami. Our chef was very entertaining and we enjoyed it all. The fish tacos at the main pool were so good, and guacamole with chips was a staple for me. The staff were all very kind and accommodating, except for when it came to us being sick. There is also nowhere to get saltines or ginger ale, water bottles, etc. if it's beyond 11pm, which is ridiculous. We spent most of our pesos on medications and snacks to have in the room! There are only 2 of 4 elevators working, which didn't matter at first, but once the weekend came around and there was 2 big wedding parties checking in, it became pretty annoying. The housekeeping staff tidied our room daily and we appreciated that. We really did want to leave a better review (and have a better experience). Sadly, aside from our time spent on the beach, the best parts of our trip happened off the resort. We don't have a lot of money and worked hard to save for this trip and I just wish we were bragging about how amazing it was. I hope the staff who remember me/us know that we loved and appreciated everything they did for us during our stay. It was not those particular people who made anything bad. The performance on Mayan Night was incredible, but that was the only show available during our whole one-week stay which was a bit surprising.
