Long time loyal Legendary Member starting to see issues with amenities and service

So I have been a Legendary member since they first broke away from Palace. We have been palace members since 2008. We have been happy with the membership for the most part, but our latest trip to Cancun Palace gave us reason to be dissatisfied for two primary reasons. 1. We upgraded, again, although for one of the lowest cost additions that gave us access to AVA Cancun and I believe 4 addional UNICO resorts. The referral program was advertised to us incorrectly and although I take partial responsibility as I signed the paperwork that had contradicting information to what was told to us at our presentation, they did give me incorrect information that influenced my decision and then reduced the benefit in the paperwork. I would not have upgraded had the program been verbalized to us correctly as it was a significant difference between what we were told we got and what the contract said. Again, my bad for not reading and trusting the salesman. 2. The resort is visually dated. It doesn't seem like funds are being directed to maintenance and upkeep of existing facilities, rather to building new locations. Double edged sword, as it's nice to have new resorts to travel to, but they charge you to use those locations as a member. Those that do not want to upgrade are left with resorts they already have access to but that are not being maintained. To be fair, we were told during our stay that the entire location was being shut down for 3 months to do maintenance and upkeep work. It just seems like they waited too long and let certain things get very bad. Lastly, although the facilities left a lot to be desired, the staff, as always, is very friendly and worked hard to make sure we were taken care of. I did notice a bit of preferential treatment to guests that were tipping even though it is supposed to be a no tipping required environment. So be prepared to spend a bit in tips to get that extra bit of special attention.

We have returned to this property for our 13th year and it never fails to deliver a great time. Thank you especially to our butlers Jessy & Kevoy for making our vacation extra special. We brought 2 new family members with us on this trip and they too had an amazing time. Upon arrival, the bellmen greeted us and remembered us from the past years. Thank you to Vitaliano and Sammy. Also, would like to thank Jere. Carlos brought us our welcome drinks upon check in. We met Angel at the pool who greeted us with a smile. Barahona was the cook at the omelet station at Toro - great omelets made for us each morning. Also in the morning at Toro we saw our friend from past years, Gray - she is a great waitress and friend. Suhei was the bus girl in Toro - she too was great. We were always served with a smile at the pool bar by Quintana and the waitress Margarita Garcia - we have been friends with Margarita for years and she is one of the best waitresses by the pool and on the beach. Out waiters Angel and Hector in Freda were exceptional. Ailton was awesome with the entertainment by the pool. When we went to the 3rd floor for lunch,our waiter David and waitresses Majo and Araceli always greeted us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed. We were lucky enought to have a private dinner near the beach. Our servers Amador and Tony were exceptional. When hanging out by the lobby bar we had a great bartender Mixtega. The waiter at the splash bar, Jesusb, made sure we always had a drink. We were also surprised with a private lunch to celebrate birthdays. Our wait staff, Marlon, Carlos, Jose and Manuel (the chef) ensured that this lunch was extra special. Thank you also to Alexander and Adri. Toledo and Mario were our servers at Ciao - another great dinner. We received exceptional service at the Rock Spa - thank you to the receptionists Melina and Shadia and our therapists Liz, Lau, Rachel, Marisol, Yant. The pool guys always made sure we had our towels - Luis, Willie & Tacho. Can't wait to return to our "home" away from home in Cancun. Hard Rock Cancun is definitely our favorite Hard Rock property so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Til next year......
