Family Vacation 2022
kenny79x on Jul 04, 2022
We traveled to Paradisus Cancun from June 26th to July 3rd, 2022. Overall, the vacation was excellent with a few suggestions for improvement. The Positives The entertainment staff was extremely helpful, especially Sal who did an excellent job in organizing volleyball every day and involving people in the game. Axel and Jesus also did a good job organizing activities around the pool with the kids. The a la carte services and food quality was exceptional! One of the highlights was Moises at the Cielo Mexican restaurant. He took the time to explain the menu to us in detail and showed his appreciation. Jorge at the Japanese restaurant was also extremely helpful and took the time to explain the menu to us. He even came up with great drink suggestions including the Mezcalita and coffee with liqueur. The ocean view room views were excellent highly recommend upgrading to this. Our first impressions of the hotel met expectations. As soon as you get a glimpse of the hanging vines and natural light ascending from above in the atrium you feel like you are in a world-class hotel. The family pool was not too busy and provided a quiet respite throughout the day. The main pool was a little crowded near the swim-up bar but was excellent if you want more activities and action. The Negatives The check in experience was terrible, it took us almost 30 minutes with one of the new staff members. They first made a mistake and told us it would be 5 nights instead of 7. They quickly corrected that error but were not very apologetic. They then charged my card $200 US dollars instead of Mexican dollars. Similarly fixed the error but not apologetic. No extras were offered for this inconvenience. The buffet restaurant menu was extremely repetitive for lunch and dinner. We ate there the first two days and then decided to mostly avoid it and go to the a la carte restaurants where possible. We suggest adding theme nights to keep it interesting for the guests. Instead request a room away from the main lobby near the shallow end of the main snake-shaped pool. This will probably mean more walking, but the resort is not that large anyway. There were no ping pong/table tennis tables available outside. We suggest adding one outside near one of the pools. Seaweed was a bit of a problem here although the hotel did their best to clean it every day and there were areas where you could get into the ocean with minimal seaweed. There are a lot of perks to the reserve section but it goes a little too far. There were several Bali beds that were empty. At least 70% all the time. The reserve pool was always empty and is way too large in my opinion.
Very nice!

Luis was very kind and attentive to our needs and dietary restrictions. Service was great and food was delicious! The restaurant was very beautiful and serene. Would definitely recommend that you should try when you visit!
